I don't see this as a response to the Xbox/Activision news, this deal was likely being thrashed out way before the Xbox news broke.

Lets hope so squire :)

I am really average at racers so didnt play GT Sport as I didn't fancy getting my arse handed to me online, I am so excited for a GT with licences and a career path like the older GTs. I realise that stuff was patched into GT Sport but I had moved on and never went back to it.

Hope GT7 delivers on everything you want mate.

What are you talking about squire? Even with Xbox's acquisition of these studios, nothing has changed in respect of Sony remaining the leading publisher of quality video games in the industry. Are you honestly suggesting that the mere announcement of the acquisition of Activision, which wont complete for 18 months by the way, will in some way impact on the desirability or perception of the PS5 for gamers across the globe?

Most average gamers will not have payed any at...

I have about 250 PS3 games sat on my shelf and regularly think about playing them but just never quite get around to it. There are simply too many current games in my backlog although, I did buy a new PS3 controller over Christmas as I had a huge urge to replay The Puppeteer.

Nostalgia is a hugely powerful emotion for sure. Having said that, I don't think I would 'prefer' older generations over the current one personally. I do like to occasionally revisit a classic though, SSX Tricky was a game I recently dived back into.

Great news if you do prefer older gens though squire, loads of great games to play that for the most part are a darn sight cheaper than current gen.

The Switch really is a great choice if you like JRPGs or visual novels, there are so many to choose from.

Having said that, many of those titles also release to PS4 where they obviously perform better and look sharper, just curious as to why you don't utilise that option if it presents itself squire? Do you like handheld mode?

You ain't missing much unless you are about 10 years old. The show is way to manicured and corporate, it robs the show of any sincerity or authenticity in my view.

I empathise with you though duder, I often scout about looking for friendly, chill channels that avoid those toxic elements and vibes. I think Easy Allies are generally my fave for that aspect alone.

They did my nut in to be honest, it was like watching Blues Clues or Barney watching these two, they were way to corporate and saccharine for my tastes.

I think Nintendo do need to acknowledge that a huge chunk of there audience have grown up with Nintendo and should cater to that older audience at least a little bit.

To be fair, I think most cultures folklore is under represented in games. Just here in the UK alone, there is a fantastic breadth of quite ancient folklore which harkens back to our druid ancestry etc.

You tend to find the Greek, Norse and Roman mythology is most referenced and there is no doubt that stuff if really interesting and cool, but loads of places have such cool folklore that could be tapped into.

I can imagine that there is some really cool f...

Its not even that complex though dude, your PS4 save is likely already on the cloud, the average user can just download their save onto their PS5 and launch the game.

@Exaliburps
Personally, I don't want my old saves coming over if I am playing a newly released version of the game. I will be looking to earn the platinum trophies again as they give me the inspiration and incentive to replay these amazing titles on my PS5.

I play a hell of a lot of games and I cannot think of a single time I have started a game on PS4 and decided to continue that playthrough on PS5. Honestly, how many people are going to be playing the Uncha...

Some proof of that would be interesting, because despite the US bias towards MS shown in the media back in the period, Sony were quite happy with the performance of the PS3, it outsold XB360 worldwide every month from the moment it released and would eventually go on to overtake 360 despite its huge head-start.

If I want to see sales numbers for Sony consoles or a particular PS4/PS5 game then generally I can find that quite easily, not sure how Sony could be said to practice the habit of obfuscating numbers which might be used as a metric for sales successes.

@Darth
Would it kill ya to be more objective?

@Darkrider
I wouldn't go as far as saying the numbers that form the basis of this story are pointless, however, I agree that the way they are being reported here is kind of immaterial. You cannot compare these figures with more traditional sales figures, there is simply no equivalence. I think you are right, a much more telling figure would be to report any increase in subscriptions that they could attrib...

Yeah, I know many don't like underwater elements in games, I guess because they have been poorly implemented in the past.

But I think developers have got a much stronger grip on things like the controls in underwater sections of games these days. One of my personal faves was the brief but really cool diving scene in Uncharted 4, but I think even Ubi did a good job in the last few Assassin's Creed games.

The thing I like about underwater explorati...

Yup, I primarily use my consoles these days, as I get older I just prefer the convenience, especially as I sit in front of a computer screen for work all day.

When I was really into my PC gaming it was generally a great experience once I had built up enough experience to know how to troubleshoot and my skill in this respect rocketed when I got into Flight Sim in a big way and started running dozens of addons and plugins etc.

Seems to me that there is a lo...

Even with Xbox acquisition of Bethesda and Activision, Xbox is still behind Sony and Nintendo in respect of turnover and profit, which is bonkers to think about really. Its crazy just how profitable Sony and Nintendo's gaming divisions are raking in!

I cannot help but think that MS have a firm eye on King and will look to use them to get a huge foothold in the mobile market. There is no downplaying the importance of COD even if it isn't as relevant a franchise as ...
