I feel like Jin's story arc was fairly satisfying as it is. I think Sucker Punch deserve credit for not taking the easy route with a sequel and are trying something new instead. It feels quite novel to treat a sequel in this way in my view.

The industry being so US centric is a factor in my view, the terrible state of workers rights in the US makes it so easy to just fire people with no consequence.

Yeah, I consider myself to be something of a PlayStation fan but I simply cannot see me dropping 700 quid on a console and it's even more unlikely if there is any truth to the lack of a disk drive.

Exactly bruv, I can't help but think many Americans are out there on their own when it comes to valuing someone's work. Practically zero workers rights, huge internship culture, generally anti-union sentiments, a reliance on tip culture rather than having a service provider pay a living wage to their staff etc.

It blows my mind that people will side with a company that earns billions and suggest that someone valuing there work and property is in the wrong. As you ...

Bruv, 22.5 grand is still peanuts, its an insult when you know how much money that game generates. Even if the track was unknown (it absolutely is not btw), the billion dollar companies need to stop taking the piss.

Exactly!!

Yup, Spotify (and others) have had a terrible impact on the music industry in my view. I think it turns music into the very 'disposable' thing where you barely pay attention to who the artist is or song is called (unless it resonates with you, so you add it to a playlist or something). I guess I might just be an old fart in this degree as I grew up really valuing physical media.

It's why I dislike Gamepass and other similar services, they just devalue the medi...

They should still get paid by the billion dollar company fairly, whether exposure counts or not.

I remember this song really well and I recall it being played a lot on the radio back in the day. Really unfair for some to say its a 'shit song' or play it down, in the day it was super popular (at least here in th UK, no 2 in the charts) and people who were teenagers in the 80s like myself will have fond memories of it.

Sure, its probably not the best business decision 'if' they reacted that way, but I can understand the sentiment. The biggest game on...

I was wondering what hot takes certain nipple heads would have in response to a PlayStation title garnering universal praise.

For me, I prefer how Nintendo and Sony operate within the gaming sector. I agree that console war mentality is pretty dumb but I do also feel it is perfectly legitimate to dislike MS based on the way they have operated over the last 20 years.

Yeah, I am super excited too. Its a complete coincidence, but I am on annual leave for the week following the games release, I cannot wait to dig in and get me a shiny platinum trophy!

The fly in the ointment is, it probably isn't worth the developers committing resources to fix it. It's not just that there are barely any XBOX's in China (where most of the copies of the game are selling), it's that Xbox gamers in the west have been conditioned to not buy games.

Why waste resources if you cannot recoup the money it would take to sort out the issue?

Not sure there is any need to be so aggressive in your statements squire, for the most part I agree with your sentiments as I have been fortunate to own every platform over the last 3 generations at least. I think you are missing a key factor in your assessment though, and that is that it isn't easy to measure the affect that exclusives play in driving consumers to your platform. There is a reason Sony makes more money that XBOX, more people buy their consoles and more people are spendi...

Personally, if a platform holder has either created new studios or at least picked up individual studios over the decades they have been operating, then they are perfectly entitled to have those studios create exclusive games to attract custom to their platform. Every business out there looks to have a unique selling point or tries to offer something their competitors cannot. Where it is fucked up is when one of the wealthiest organisations in the world, decides to not invest in the studios ...

I hope you are right porkChop, I think you are personally. As you say, they have a pretty solid track record although, this looks more story focussed and less shooter than most of their other titles.

I think the thing that is jarring for me in the trailers is the whipping animation, it just doesn't quite work. In real life, the crack of a whip is the sound barrier being broken, yet in this game the animation is so slow that you can see the whole whip the whole time,...

I cant help but think its inherently risky to release on on Xbox and then on PS5 six months later. Even if the game is decent I cannot help but think you lose a lot of the buzz and excitement by releasing this kind of single player game at different times like this; I think you get more hype and excitement by going all in on one big release.

Even worse, if the game meets with a luke warm reception on Xbox, then that is going to be very damaging to the sales on PS5 down th...

Depends if you are willing to wait years in the hopes of a release. Personally, I am happy with the performance and quality of Sony's games on PS5 so I am happy to play the games there. I love my PC, but the PS5 still gets loads of use from me.

From what I recall from the press at the time, Mikami had next to no input into HiFi Rush, it was directed by a guy called Chris Johannes, so I would give Tango a chance, lots of clearly talented folk there.
