I really liked Calisto, harshly treated for sure and I don't necessarily think it needs to be played on easy to enjoy it. It's not perfect, but it's not the car crash the media portrayed it as either.
I have said it before, but part of the issue is that there is a mind share going on in games coverage, with all the main outfits being personal friends and talking too each other. As such, there is a risk that everyone ends up sharing in the same opinion rather t...
Both The Order and Calisto were harshly treated in my view. I am not saying they are perfect, but the were both really solid games. I personally really liked them despite acknowledging their flaws and coincidentally, got the platinum trophy for both games.
Evil West is another really fun game that's worth checking out for sure.
The Sony leadership that started down this road has already moved on.
Oh Reginald!!! 🤣
I reckon we have already seen Sony shift away from a live service focused direction with the recent change in leadership. Inevitably, some of the projects started under the previous management will need to release as they were so close to completion, but I think in general, the new Sony management have already identified that their fan base aren't interested in the majority of the live service stuff they were touting.
I can't shake the feeling that Xbox is now being overseen more closely by Microsoft, rather than Xbox division making all the calls themselves. I think the decades of Microsoft throwing money at Xbox are over and shareholders are expecting way better returns than they have seen.
It a real shame that politicians have been so successful in turning the public against civil servants who keep the country running. Rather than blame political for the shit state of things, they blame everyone else!
I'll bet that's only for your existing subscription, once your renewal time comes around, you'll be on the new 'contract'. I just don't see a world where existing customers get one deal and they charge a more expensive price when trying to lure new customers. No other service provider works this way, the best deals are ALWAYS offered to new customers, whether it's phone contracts, insurance or subscription TV etc.
Cannot wait to play this game, I am gutted that I'll have to wait. I always buy physical so quite why they are launching with a code in the box rather than a disk is baffling, and I'll be waiting for a true physical release.
I guess the devs are releasing Alan Wake II physical as a favour to the tiny amount of folk who only buy physical media......or could it be that there is a huge consumer base that has gone untapped due to their 'digital only' decision?
It's a small minority of the gaming community who pay attention to showcases or read websites. Showcases are of limited value this far into a consoles life cycle in my view.
I think they are valuable for the first few years to get the core gamers invested and to build the hype, but 4 years in, the 'fans' who watch these things are already invested.
Occasionally you will get a game that reaches through to more casual games and might draw som...
Inverno, I agree there are issues in this respect too, but that is as much a cultural thing than anything, that kind of behaviour or attitude is even replicated in respect of children and their education in Japan. Point still stands that corporate greed and hyper capitalism is much more prevalent in the US and Europe.
Check Nintendo execs out (and plenty of other non-gaming Japanese companies for that matter). Lots of stories of them taking pay cuts to reward employees etc.
It's western corporate culture especially that is driving inequality, poverty etc.
It's also odd to me that folk get so hyped for games like Fable.
Fable 2 was a good game (albeit a little on the simple side for my tastes) whilst the other entries were quite middling. So quite why a CG trailer with no gameplay is being hailed as mindblowing is odd to me.
Given the track record of MS studios, I just cannot get really hyped for anything they have lined up. I hope Fable will he good, but I am very much in the 'I'll wait and s...
Agreed, that was a very classy and respectful message.
I recall seeing interviews where Shinji Mikami said he had no involvement in the development of HiFi Rush, it was a European guy who directed the game I believe.
So even if its true that Shinji leaving was a loss, closing the studio still doesn't pass the sniff test to me. They shut a great studio who had just put out Xbox' best game in years which had no input from Mikami.
MS can't help but lie, they always have, scummy company.
Talk about move the goalposts. Spencer has made such a song and dance about courting Japanese developers for nearly 20 years. Now suddenly Japanese games don't matter, I guess it's great news that MS shuttered Tango Gameworks too according to these 'fans'.
Reckon you are completely ignoring the popularity of Astrobot following the genius move by Playstation, of packing Astrobot Playroom in with PS5.
Universally praised by reviewers and loved by gamers and adored by Sony fans due to the way it celebrated the great history of the brand.
It was a huge win for Sony and left fans begging for another, 'full fat' Astrobot game. The hype is far, far from fake!
BTW, I'll take Doom to...
Yet the Xbox extremists will still buy any bullshit from Spencer about attracting Japanese developers.
Yup, I am afraid to say I waited on Calisto and picked it up for around 30 quid. Once I played it on felt really badly for the devs because the game was really decent.
