I don't understand how you can say it was average in every metric when it garnered the reviews it did?

Bit early to suggest it's summer/holiday season for the likes of UK, Europe etc. July and August maybe, but not quite yet.

Have to disagree here duder, with respect. Evil Within was a good game and the sequel was fantastic, as was HiFi Rush. I'd concede Ghostwire was pretty average but regardless, shuttering a studio which just put out MS best game in donkeys years was complete shithousery on XBox' part.

"Critisizing every fan of a brand you don't like"

"You're a great example of PS fans and bias"

Oh the irony!!!

Really self defeating position to take MrWood. So you got to enjoy the Evil Within games and the excellent HiFi Rush, but some exec somewhere notes that the games didnt get 'enough' traction and shutter Tango Gameworks. We will never have any more games from this really talented studio just so a minority within the gaming community can try the game for pennies.

I have to say Einhander, I cannot help but feel the same way, the whole time I was watching the event I just couldn't help but think that all these games would have been coming to Xbox anyway, the only thing MS achieved by consolidating all of these publishers was to take games away from other player bases.

There really isn't any other way of viewing it in my opinion, I just cannot understand how anyone but the most blinkered of Xbox fanatic, thinks any company buyi...

Yeah, great point Cacabunga, great to see something of a course correction and single player being embraced again.

I don't think people are complaining about the game per se, they are pissed off about this ridiculous article gaslighting people by suggesting that games have been shit for a while and suddenly XBOX are here to save the day with this release. This is especially frustrating given XBOX's conduct over the last few years, consolidating all these publishers and then, despite promising to do otherwise in the various proceedings at the EU, UK and US, laying fucking loads of people off.

I recall hearing all this buzz around We Happy Few too, which showed very well at the shows but turned out to be pretty average. I understand being excited for new games and I thought the announcement for SoM looked great, but to suggest it is 'renewing his faith in videogames' is such hyperbole.

I am not sure what others are up to, but I have been playing amazing games non stop for a long time, my appreciation for the amazing work developers put out hasn't wan...

There are JRPG fans on Xbox? That's news to me 😜

Having the last Astrobot on the disc too would be such a great addition, as a physical collector I would be so pleased with this move.

Yeah, superb game and despite it getting a decent reception, I still think a little under appreciated overall.

Heck of a decent challenge too, some of the later bosses were pretty brutal.

Not unless it's given away on GP, otherwise, this great game will barely be noticed.

I always try to give benefit of the doubt, but sadly, I do think you are right Chocoburger, Konami's heyday is a distant memory and as a gamer who enjoyed Konami back in the day, it is really sad to see.

You know its against the law to lie about this stuff to potential investors or existing investors, right?

Certainly in the conversation, I still think Naughty Dog personally, even though they upset a bunch of people with the direction taken with TLOU2, that game still sold like crazy and in my view, was their best game to date.

You could also say the same for Sucker Punch too, a super reliable developer.

A fair comparison I must say. I will play Hellblade II when it comes to PS5 (provided it gets a physical release) as I can't help but think it's similar to the first game in respect of its shortcomings, and I still got something out of that 1st game (a platinum trophy specifically).

I absolutely LOVED Stellar Blade, what a fantastic game. I don't believe for 1 minute that Hellblade is a 5/10 mind you, but it is interesting to compare the reception of these games.

I am not sure its as black and white as you make out Nerd. I enjoy a slow paced or cerebral game here and there, but that game still needs to be fun in the way we interact with it. It simply isn't right to suggest people who score the game on the low end are too thick or too impatient to appreciate it.

Ultimately, I loved the atmosphere, production values and story of the first game but in order to progress I was still required to engage with repetitive combat and puz...

I am here just to enjoy the likes of Lightning and Obscure loose their marbles trying to defend MS.

My personal take, as someone who hasn't played the game yet, is that the game looks good but it's isn't the home run MS and its extreme fringe fans were claiming it would be over the last 2 years.

This review seems harsh, but I love to see certain users getting all worked up 😅
