I did fear it would be found wanting in the gameplay department, I felt that the first game got very repetitive quite quickly as the combat and puzzles never really progressed or developed.

It sounds to me like it will be a good game, one I'll enjoy at some point, but it is far from the blockbuster MS need right now. I do fear for the studio now given the lukewarm reception of a game.

I am still willing to give Ninja Theory the benefit of the doubt. Great studio with a good track record, I am am trying to avoid MS general stink prejudice my opinion of some of my fave developers.

I would suggest that Ghostwire Tokyo was 'pretty good', in respect of Evil Within 2 and Hi-Fi Rush I would say those games were excellent. Its a travesty that MS have shuttered them but I remember when Mikami left Tango I thought that might be game over as far as MS was concerned; they were perhaps interested in Mikami's reputation and talents more than they were owning Tango (or even their IP).

If only these keyboard warriors cared about censorship and manipulation my mainstream media and the political class as much as they do about an extra inch of digital flesh.

In a world where facts are no longer reported and we instead get a censored version of the truth, decided on by billionaires, it is staggering to me that people can lose their marbles over such an insignificant issue about a videogame.

Not sure why this is a story (other than the obvious gaslighting), but it's common sense, the size of the potential audience on PC is exponentially larger than the PS5 audience.

Inevitably, when the right kind of game hits it out of the park,, specifically an online shooter, there is every chance it could sell more on PC.

This is the point I always found frustrating, the whitewashing of Spencers reputation when he got promoted. He was involved in the slide into mediocrity of the 360 generation!

That is a real bummer as the first game was really underrated and the second game was an absolute belter, so under appreciated.

I think losing Shinji Mikami was a big loss so I do wonder what the studio's next project would have looked like, but there is no defending the absolutely disgusting behaviour of MS, they are a cancer on the gaming industry!

I can't get into mobile gaming either and I have tried a few times, I owned a PSP, I own a Vita and I take my Switch on holiday for travelling etc. Even with these great devices, mobile gaming just never grabs me.

Apologies, I'd mis-remembed the headline I'd read a while back. Anyway, the point remains, I don't thing its all doo and gloom for PlayStation in Japan as this story is trying to suggest.

Lies, damn lies and statistics!!

Mobile gaming being dominant in Asia is hardly news these days, but there are stats showing PS5 is the fastest selling PS console ever in Japan, (2.7 million in 2023) so I am not sure that it's quite the doom and gloom story that the author wants to suggest

Honestly, you have to be some kind of loon to be that bothered, especially when there are far more revealing costumes in the game anyway, I guess folk just love a conspiracy theory these days.

To extremists on both end of this decade, buy the game and play it, it's a fucking rad action game!

I started playing over the weekend and I have to say, Stellar Blade has been brilliant so far. After around 6 hours the thing that really leaps out at me is how much fun the combat is.

As someone who loved Sekiro, I find myself really enjoying the parrying and dodging along with the forward and backwards counter attacks moves. When it all gels, I feel like an absolute bad ass. I also enjoy the exploration a whole lot, not too much open world, but enough to avoid being to...

Don't call the gamer.com 'mainstream' Crow, you'll only encourage them🤣. The problem these days is there are no journalistic standards in video games media.

Even the mainstream sites such as IGN and Gamespot are too close to 'the industry' to really be of any use. But outside of the mainstream, anyone can run a website without the barest minimum of standards.

Well I bought a Series X over 2 years ago, it came with 2 years of GP included.

I ended up playing mostly old XBox games like Gears, Halo, Fable rather than new games because, despite all the hype, I quickly found there was actually not much in the way of killer games on the service. The kind of games I really wanted to play generally never came on the service so I was left to play the occasional Indie title.

My GP expired 6 months ago and I'll never...

If the gameplay and puzzle design haven't moved on from the 1st game, then 8 or 9 hours will be fine, because its going to get super repetitive, super quickly.

I would generally agree with the article to be fair.

I enjoyed the original well enough but the puzzles and combat were excruciatingly repetitive.

If the gameplay hasn't advanced then that is going to be really disappointing.

What bothers me about much of the games media is that they are all personal friends or there is almost cross pollination between companies, so they all talk to each other and I feel like thar invites an opportunity to influence each other.

I am in a similar spot squire, I picked up Dragons Dogma 2 and want to put that to bed before picking up Ronin.

Can't help but think that this is another example of reviewers being out of touch with gamers, as every person I know who' have played it loved it.
