I would suggest they were adopting this approach way back into the 360 days, the denials and messaging around Red Ringing consoles were crazy and it took them a good while to acknowledge a problem existed. Then there is the fact that they have been pushing the 'best gaming line up in history narrative' for about 10 years despite nothing of note outside of Gears, Forza and HALO titles.

Lets not forget the tripling of the capability of my XB1 through cloud implementa...

Not sure what you are referring to here squire, GiantBomb are generally pretty consistent and always back up their reviews with good rationale.

What examples of dishonest reviews do you have, I am not asking to be contrarian I am just genuinely curious in case I have missed something as I view a lot of their content.

Yup. but Scalebound was not a game they could easily monetise so they scrapped it in favour of games like Sea of Thieves.

Honestly, give the pedigree of Platinim Games and Kamiya, I dont understand how you dont see that project through to the end.

It is much better than most of the corporate giants who set ridiculously optimistic targets then go on to cut studios or staff or retire software franchises as a result of only selling 7 million copies instead of the predicted 8 million.

I genuinely hope you have a great time with it squire, I guess my own experience of the original was different to some. I thought the game was good but repetitive back in the day, having said that, I did play it for something like 20+ hours so it did have something that kept me coming back.

I guess the point I was trying to make is that I am not so sure that the franchise warrants the amount of hype MS seem to be expecting from the game.

Happy gaming th...

I honestly cannot fathom how this game is generating any excitement, it looks like such a outdated game, in particular, the combat looks dreadful. If this does better than Sunset Overdrive did then something is really wrong, for me, it speaks to how desperate the more blinkered Xbox fans are to have an exclusive to brag about; the game looks so middling.

Its fascinating really because Crackdown was a good launch game but fairly dated mechanically and Crackdown 2 was pretty...

I feel stupider for having read that comment.

The fact that all of the most anticipated games for the next couple of years are Sony exclusives. Tsushima, TLOU2, Horizon 2 (strongly rumoured), God of War 2, Death Stranding and Dreams (which looks jaw dropping from the recent beta) completely destroys his assertions.

This guys arguments only make sense if the Sony studios had released poor games however, the reality is, their releases have been trending th...

You must not have the capacity to experience fun if you cannot enjoy the Mario games. I am as big a Playstation fan as you could wish to meet, but that doesn't stop me from devouring many of the Nintendo exclusives when they come along.

Mario Odyssey really is something special in my opinion, I don't know how Nintendo do it, but this game just made me smile the whole way through.

To clarify, I am referring to MS's first party stuff when talking about average quality games, particularly over the last 3 or 4 years. I know that overall, therefore great games on the service, even if they are old.

I loved, I mean really loved God of War (2018) and I am happy to read articles singing its praises however, I get pretty fed up with the revisionist history surrounding the original games.

The way you hear gaming sites and journalists go on these days you would swear the originals were universally disliked and were poor games. They were , in my opinion, fantastic games and they were really well regarded and critical darlings in their day but you never hear any of that from...

Game pass is fine and dandy if you want to play old games, but in my opinion, it has had a massively detrimental effect on the quality of MS's first party titles. Now that they are essentially giving these games away it seems a lot of MS fans are satisfied with pretty middling games.

I would rather pay for games that are worth playing than get cheap/free games that are not.

Incidently, GodisaGeek is a pretty poor website in my opinion, lots of hyperb...

Shout out to Radec in Killzone 2, not only because of how tough the fight was, but because of how cheap he was!

Holy crap, some of those Valkyries were insanely tough!!

Cannot wait to play this bone fide classic again, hope this does well for Atlus again this time around.

As good as the Baldurs Gate titles are, it's the chance to replay Planescape Torment that really caught my attention.

It's crazy this is happening at all though in my opinion, just didn't see this coming at all. Great stuff!

Personally I dislike the position that Steam enjoys as the defacto only real option for PC gaming, it has put them in a position which allows them to exploit developers without any real risk of losing business.

I think the handling of this has been poor by the devs however, I cannot blame any dev for wanting to use a competitor to steam which will allow them to keep more of the profits and for me, that is the messaging that should have surrounded the change.

Personally, I would love nothing more than for FIFA to decide to offer a license to multiple developers rather than giving EA exclusive rights. The FIFA games are so boring now, some competition is what's needed and it would really stick it to EA who have really abused their position in my opinion.

Yakuza remakes have been really great in my opinion, along with Total War and Valyria Chronicles 4 recently. Then there is their management of Atlus who have published loads of great titles.

Sega have done some of good work on consoles I feel, it seems like it's the mobile sector that they are struggling with.

I can't say much, I promised I would never buy an xbox again after my 4th 360 died. Fast forward to E3 2013 and a promise of a host of new games, hololens, tripling of the consoles power through cloud etc and what do you know, I allowed myself to be duped again. Only Sunset Overdrive proved to be worth playing on XB1, the rest were cancelled or came to PC (a platform I already owned).

It's weird to me that they even need to ask this question. If the quality is good (which seems to be the case) then that's the key consideration with game length being secondary to this.
