People are probably upset because Sony (or the ad company) are attacking a game made by likely one person. Someone who is no threat to sony. Attacking the iphone is one thing, but I can see how people would get upset by attacking certain independent developers.
Also, funny choice of game to justify, baseball, another thing we can all do for free.
I played gun, and enjoyed it... However, RDR actually delivers on all the things I thought I was getting when I bought gun.
The fact of the matter is, to produce 3d visuals you have to render the scene twice for every one frame we actually see. Because of this, its common sense that games which are presently taking full advantage of the platform they are on are going to have to take a hit in visuals to account for the double frame rendering.
Touche, forgive me if I have trouble filtering fanboy comments on this site and mistakenly took yours for one.
Interesting I suppose if your intent is to derail a legitimate conversation about the current state of game development.
I think rockstar games are weird to review. They contain an odd mix of nearly perfect story telling and presentation with severely flawed mechanics (auto-aim / controls). Some parts of the game deserve high 9's while others i think are severely flawed.
PC's do better graphics than both. I play my consoles more than my PC (because the SC2 beta just ended) but graphics-wise me PC blows those 2 out of the water.
Also Donny, beside Uncharted 2 (which I love) what games look better than 360 games? I think their very even, with certain multiplats looking better on 360 and certain first party games looking better on ps3. Too me, gears 3 is showing better visuals than killzone 3. This is partially opinion so I won't complet...
The Frodo reference deserves bubbles. Particularly for how relevant it is.
Also, more bubbles to dark, because bender is freaking amazing.
Good news everyone! Bubbles!
@Reservoir
Gears 2 had 2v2v2v2v2, as well, so did halo 3. While its not exactly the same, its kinda similar.
RDR is a bigger game than GoW so naturally there are more glitches. That said, I've played 20+ hours and haven't seen anything noticeable. Also, you probably just want attention.
I live in Redmond, WA and after reading the article it seemed playful if not praising. Also, I thought the game did a really good job. But then again, I grew up in ohio, where our sterotypes are smoking/drinking heavily and being poor. I'd like to see a european game pull that one off!
Thats true, although that would be a pretty sweet Association.
Its a design choice because Gears + Tons of People = Not fun. Gears is not about large scale battles its about skirmishes.
By your logic MAG is 8 times better than KZ2.
Honestly, how does he have so many agrees?
Just putting it out there, but GeoW as an Acronym doesn't make any sense.
True story Anon.
True, but when I was working as a modder I was reading his design advice for modding Unreal Tournament. Hes been at epic for awhile and Unreal was his first big venture.
It may not be the first, but I've played drummania and Rockband does a far better job of mimicking actual drumming.
I was excited until I hit the part where square was involved. Lost odyssey was one of the few RPG's I've enjoyed recently, and the others, square certainly wasn't involved.
Do you have a source for the original quote? Because Im not even sure what he said now.
Gears 2 single player was much more polished than the firsts. However, in terms of Multiplayer gameplay I agree with Shaka. Gears 1 is more fun to play than Gears 2. Gears 1 feels more responsive and from an abstract standpoint; it feels as though you have much more control of your destiny. That is to say, in gears 1 if you died it was probably your fault (or it was host) but in Gears 2 you die all the time and feel like there is nothing you could have done better or differently.
