Yeah, I guess I can see your point there. If someone were to buy a console based of a list of the highest ranked games. Which Im sure a decent number of people do. I guess in a weird way its hard to separate yourself from being a "established" gamer and see the console feuding threw a less experienced gamers eyes.
But anyway, superman 64.... hahaha.
I really think you're missing the whole idea that people have different views on what makes a title enticing to them. Sure PS3 has some very well renowned games. I bought a 360 because Im a PC gamer who happens to be very into gears of war. Needless to say even the first one was much better on 360 than a pc. Sure it looks a hell of a lot better on my PC (I own both versions) but playing it with my friends on LIVE is much more fun also, since many of my friends don't have high powered gaming r...
Damn you beat me too it. I was going to point out the "beating off" part of the headline. Reminded me of family guy when better told meg she would be beating guys off with both hands when he was through with her.
Seriously, how dare you say its a good update. HOW DARE YOU!
Honestly though, I dig it. Lets see if I can get a disagree for and opinion.
Naw, you guys are being rather unbiased with a hint of R2 favor. I think you guys will be just fine. Plus for those of us who were hardcore gears 1 players, disagreeing that gears 2 multi is all that great would be a conflict of interest. Its like CoD4 fodder now. Not that CoD4 was too boring online... but this is supposed be gears of war.
Have you really played the multiplayer. Or the first gears much at all? Honestly, I bought a 360 for gears, its the only game I own (I'm a PC gamer otherwise) and I played it consistently till the launch of the second. Needless to say, Im not bad at the game. As of last night I was ranked #1 on security in horde (Im not trying to brag its just I don't want people saying I suck in response). Me and my 4 buddies that all played Gears 1 since its launch (entered tournaments etc.) all hate the n...
Its funny because many review outlets would disagree with you yet you say your opinion of the 2, yet to be released games, as if it were pure fact. For example, I personally don't care at all about R2. That doesn't mean Im going to go around bashing people for liking it. Because its a freaking opinion, just like reviews.
Really, thanks for the spoiler. Despite what you feel some of us really like the games epic / Cliff work to make (and are trying not to have Gears 2 ruined for us). While Kojima is a great designer, saying that Cliff doesn't know how to make a good game is just your icon speaking. Im not a 360 fanboy, I've liked epic's games because of the PC games they make for a long time. Sure they don't have the depth of Kojima's games but they all play very very well, ie. they're fun.
I know at the very least those guys have played the first act of Gears 2 (can't find a link but it was a news item a few weeks ago on here) so it is a valid comparison in terms of knowing how gears 2 'feels'. It might be a little less valuable if they compared it to the over all experience as Im fairly certain few review sites have sat down with Gears 2 in its entirety. Again though it may be a little unfair to compare a first person game to a 3rd person as clearly the Epic team (and they've ...
So your capacity is to only be blown away by one game, kinda sad. Im sure Epic is gonna miss the sale of 1 copy to someone who likely doesn't even own a 360...
I completely agree. Would be nice to see something like that in say CoD 6, since that will be a fitting game for such a thing. Me and a buddy were just discussing how we wish CoD 4 had something like that.
I think one of those should be having played crysis at launch on high settings. Just a thought but that says a lot about how closely someone maintains there gaming rig.
Even if Microsoft used mac software (which seems odd since there is better high end software available) only select few people will know this. Unless apple uses it in their smear campaign.
I have nothing against macs since I can recognize the good parts of the company (using american engineers which costs them more than out sourcing), but I have a great distaste for anyone that over states the enemies weaknesses in order to make themselves appear better, rather than just being ...
I didn't say I've played gears 2. I said I was worried it wouldn't pan out well. Im waiting to see. So I never claimed anything about how good it is or will be. Just that too many players would make gears terrible which anyone who has played gears 1 will tell you. So stop being a jerk off.
Also, one game with 60+ people is BF2. And on a side note, it was a fantasticly done large scale game.
Gears Multi would suck with too many people. When I first heard it was going to be 5v5 I was worried that it was too many because Ive actually played the multiplayer alot and know how it flows. So all the comments about how many players Resistance is going to have is way off base. They are two completely different games. Not to mention, PC games have had this for a long long time. Its not really something to brag about. Pure volume != fun (and before I get too many disagrees Im not bashing Re...
I think it's funny how you don't really see PC gamers on here mocking everyone because the graphical power they can get can blow all the systems out of the water. I doubt they're more mature, maybe they just got sick of people telling them it costs way too much (which it doesn't have too...). Regardless, I've played through crysis on max settings, it looks amazing. However I still think WoW looks awesome because I really dig their art direction. Life doesn't have to be a squable people. I won...
I was thinking the same thing. I probably could have taken this a little more seriously if the whole article didn't seem so ridiculously condescending. Implying that because hardcore gamers remember key events and characters from games they won't know people and events from history is pretty weak. I think maybe this guy feels threatened by gamers that are better than him (those that don't think managing 8 buttons is a lofty task) and this whole article was just an attack to make himself feel ...
First off, the unreal 3 engine doesn't use bump mapping. Thats old school using a 8bit black and white image. Secondly, The "normal mapping" it uses offers depth and realism where it would just be far to costly to show it using polygons (and looks much more realistic than bump mapping). Plus its not just Unreal 3 engine, its also used in the crysis engine. I don't see much of it in those screens which makes the terrain look unnaturally flat. I don't think the shots look better than ...
Why does he have to like a control scheme to put it in the game? Honestly, as a developer hes trying to please as many people as possible. I don't like the uncharted control scheme, much prefer it all on one button. But theres a good number of people who don't like it that way.
On a side note, Inverted is the way to go. It is a joystick after all.
Party chat is a saving grace. When I play gears now Im either silent (for the most part) or am in a party chat with whatever friends Im playing with. Its kinda sad really but all it takes is one or two loudmouths to ruin a game chat. I've meet a lot of cool people on Xbox Live, but Ive encountered far more jerkoffs.
Party chat is kinda of a funny thing too because in a way its making the game less enjoyable for all the people that love to talk trash for no apparent reason. For e...
