What are you talking about? Distributing to more countries does not create an artificial shortage. People shouldn't use terms they don't understand. On the flip side of your argument, are we to say that Xbox has created an "artificial shortage" by distributing only in its stronger markets?

It's not something that every developer has to do. It's not just getting the game to function using each controller. History has shown that Kojima is the type of dev that really tries to get the most out of hardware. He's trying to get the most out of each controller depending on its capabilities. Some devs wouldn't even bother finding creative ways to employ the controller if they only had one system to work on.

@Lukas

Killzone made good use of the new controller features. The touchpad is so intuitive. I've been playing Assassin's Creed 2 & 3 so I can get caught up to play 4. While I was playing 2, I kept unconsciously swiping my thumb up on the touch pad in an attempt to select the assassin's blade.

I'd take a discounted subscription, with access to the entire library, for Plus members over having to rent by the title. Rent by the title isn't really anything new. A Netflix of video games model is something new.

I think there are a few things going on here.

1) People fell in love with this shooter with mechs (who doesn't love mechs?), and part of that fascination was the belief (held rightly or wrongly) that the game would feature more players than just 6 vs 6. Lesser players may work in other games, but when people think of this fun mech title they're also thinking of more players as one of the elements that adds to the enjoyment.

2) People are starting to ...

4.2 million people who will get to play Infamous and Titanfall 2.

@jackanderson1985

1) That would warrant a disagree with my comment, not a collapse and loss of a bubble from a mod.

2) If US numbers are close, MS is still incorrect. You can't determine fastest selling by average sold per week. If PS4 was available on Jan. 1, 2014 and sold 1 million units in 10 hours, but didn't restock the next week, it's average units sold per week from time of availability (Jan 1) through the 15th would be 500,000 units. If Xb...

@Flames76

"Only 4.2 million in 45 countrys thats not to good when you look at the Xbox One 3 million in only 13 countrys"

Nice try. It doesn't matter how many countries the system was made available to. It matters how many people were able to buy the system. If we each have 30 items to sell and you sell your 30 in one location while I sell mine in three locations, with 10 going to each, I still only have enough to sell to 30 people, just like yo...

Seriously. Who is the mod around here displaying MS bias again? Microsoft's response to PS4 being the best selling console has been to say that if you divide the sales by weeks available for each console, Xbox is the fastest selling. That was Microsoft's logic, not mine. Now, using their own parameters I plugged in the most recent data to show that even that talking point is no longer valid, and I get down bubbled? Come on mods.

They're off somewhere awaiting their next talking point, hoping that MS can somehow spin 4,200,000 ÷ 6 weeks and 3,000,000 ÷ 5 weeks into something advantageous to Xbone.

4535d ago 7 agree0 disagreeView comment

Let's do some MS math.

4.2 million divided by 6 weeks equals 700,000 sold per week.
3 million divided by 5 weeks equals only 600,000 per week.

So ends another pathetically spun MS talking point—a talking point based on data that had nothing to do with the speed at which the consoles were selling to begin with.

Do you see the direction MS went in with its motion controlled Kinect? That came about because of the sells success of the Wii. Sales influence the path the industry goes down.

Well, Sony just announced over 4.2 million PS4's sold.

@n4rc

You just supplied the rope to hang your own argument.

"I know some didn't like The fastest selling console stat.. But it was still true even if the data can be interpreted differently "

Not only is it misleading, because it is an argument that asks you to consider that Xbox wasn't available the week of the Sony launch while ignoring PS4 unavailability due to being sold out, but it is also a lie. The average number of c...

If you have Plus you should be downloading every free game that comes out, whether you have the system or not. You can always cancel the download immediately after you start it. The important thing is to get those games in your download history so that you can go back and get them again if you come upon whatever system they are on.

If you only have a backlog of five games then you are a better PS+ subscribing gamer than I am.

Bundle sales.

Well said. I wish these people that don't care about sells so much that they click on, and comment on, stories about sells would just shut up already. Sells influence what we get in the future.

Microtransactions are becoming to gaming what steroids are to sports. To be more accurate in the event that any of you are MMA fans, microtransactions are becoming like TRT in MMA.
