@Death & @Air1

Well, there you go doing it again. Xbox is either such an under dog that only a 40:1 PS4 advantage could be seen as a Sony victory, or it's this market stealing beast, depending on what suits your argument at the moment.

What was being talked about were PS4 and XB1 sales. If you want to talk about past sales, you don't get to just arbitrarily look at it from a point beneficial to MS. If you want to talk market share, the Wii is the...

@Death

Come on. Stop that. You know there was nowhere near a consensus of PS fans claiming a 40:1 ratio. Why do some of you feel the need to play the underdog when you find yourselves losing an argument? You just got done trying to argue with me that Xbox has been such a presence, but now you want to revert back to the underdog to downplay the PS4 lead. You can't keep playing the under dog. This is the third Xbox console. Sony won its first generation, hands down. The sam...

@Death

That really has nothing to do with the subject at hand, but since you brought it up, how profitable has the Xbox division been for MS?

You're talking to one person who authored the article. How does one person asking a question become Sony fans not being able to accept reality? Do you really want to have that argument? I didn't think so. Now let's look at some facts:

1) PS4 has sold more worldwide.
2) PS4 has sold more in the US.

That's really all you need to know, but if you really want to talk about December:

3) Microsoft sold slightly more Xbox On...

Yup. Spark and Titanfall were the two games on the other console (the console I don't have) that raised my interest. They should just sell it for retail price. Microtransactions already nickel and dime people. I can't imagine them in a creation type game like Spark.

Time after time we see microtransactions effecting games in meaningful ways. Look at how in a game called Grand Theft Auto I can't steal the good cars and park them in my garage when playing online.

Remember, I said IF I were in the habit of trading in my games GTA would be at the top of my list. That's no knock on the single player. I thought it was the best GTA single player campaign ever, and you can't talk character of the year without including Trevor. I just don't have any real desire to replay the campaign. That's cool. It was the job of the multiplayer to provide replayability.

It's funny to me that RMT is this evil practice that ruins the economy when a third party does it, but we're supposed to accept it when a developer puts it into their game. And don't try to sell me that the developer can feasibly integrate it into the economy. I'm pretty sure Rockstar doesn't have a limit on how many shark dollars can be sold, and there's no way you can properly control an economy while flooding it with a potentially infinite amount of money.

People are bored of it because Rockstar failed to provide a proper experience, instead focusing on selling in-game money. I've spent quite some time playing Final Fantasy XI, and anyone who has played that game can tell you about a challenging online grind. GTA Online isn't that. It's a cash grab. Why is it that the most expensive apartment in the game is no different from the cheapest apartment in the same building? For that matter, it's not really that much different than th...

I'll put it this way. I don't trade in my games, but if I did GTA V would be the #1 candidate for getting traded in. It's really not the type of game where I want to go through the campaign again, nor is there really anything to do after the campaign. The multiplayer... The article covered the multiplayer. As it is, I have that game out on indefinite loan to a neighbor.

Give me a Dino Crisis 2 sequel and a survival horror MMORPG featuring dinosaurs.

I'm man enough to admit that the section from the Dino Crisis demo where the ground is shaking and you had to go outside and get chased by the T-Rex had me scared to even play.

Turok better do it right. I bought the last one on PS3 and it was such a let down. It had none of the magic of Dino Crisis. In Dino Crisis there is well paced build up to the revelation of the dinosaurs and genuine awe at their discovery. In Turok, the guy is like "Oh, look there's a dinosaur. Anyway, back on subject, that ship we're looking for is in that direction."

Actually, Dino Crisis did it before Resident Evil. Check out Dino Crisis 2. It's just that that game was actually the truth.

Be careful with the used 60GB models. They're more prone to YLOD and some people will have them repasted after they YLOD, then sell them before they crap out again. I sent a unit in for repairs, and the repair shop told me it was only a temporary fix and that I should quickly resell to a place like Game Stop. I just keep it as a backup to another one I got from someone on Amazon. I keep a cooler on the back exhaust vent to ensure it doesn't get too hot.

I'm always going to prefer the inclusion of a physical option. That's why I still have a PS3, and that's why that PS3 is an original 60GB model with all of the card slots, 4 USB ports, and true backwards compatibility. Clearly, I was in the minority last gen with people complaining about price and saying backwards compatibility isn't that important, so now we have cheaper systems but no backwards compatibility built in. That's cool. PS Now will have it's benefits on th...

You know what? I loved the Zune. If you were in the market for a sturdy MP3 player with a lot of storage space, the Zune was great. I was a big supporter of Zune. I bought at least three myself, and put other people onto it. Then MS decided to try to be more like the Ipod by releasing the Zune HD. The way they abandoned support for the original Zune to force people to upgrade to the Zune HD is part of the problem I have with MS as a company. I supported them big time, ...

This article tries to downplay the sales difference with points such as, "If there had been more units (Xbox's) readily available the figures could very well be within a close radius of one another." Really? So it's Xbox that is struggling to meet demand?

Here's the reasons I think the PS4 has jumped out ahead:

1) Reputation: MS has slowly garnered a reputation as a company that will nickel and dime you. They have garnered a reputation ...

There is no down bubble for making a poor argument, but there is one for your ending shot at people that disagreed with you.

In fact, which trumps your theory, Sony has sold more. If you're going to try to spin numbers you have to really know what you are doing to establish a reasonable point. When you break the numbers down the way that you did you are giving equal weight to all countries. The USA becomes the same as Australia. Your argument also ignores that there is u...
