Seems to be the order of the day. And while games like Dead Space and RE5 are fun, I do miss the traditional surival horror days. The new action-heavy horror games just don't have the same tension that comes when your character actually feels vulnerable instead of "empowered".

Same trend has also been happening with traditional stealth games. I swear, if they go and turn Garrett into an assassin in Thief 4, I will be seriously pissed.

What Jonah stated was correct, and has nothing to do with petty console wars.

Blu-ray is a storage medium. So is DVD. So is your hard drive. More storage space means more space available for better quality audio and pre-rendered video, but this doesn't automatically translate to better real-time graphics.

If that were true, then the size of your hard drive would be the determining factor in how good a PC game looked! And I would hope you all know how...

I will make a PS3 exclusive also! Please wire $50 million to my bank account and I'll get right to work.

The shining grapple points still bother me. Don't like the hand-holding of the game being so obvious about what you're supposed to grab onto (it's also a bit immersion-breaking). Hopefully that can be toggled off. Otherwise this is looking really slick.

For a game that's pushing 30+ AIs and vehicles on screen at once, wide open environments with long draw distances, and doing this all while supporting split-screen throughout, Reach's graphics are actually a pretty impressive feat.

Another flame bait article.

In any case, I'm definitely looking forward to this game, although I'm very skeptical that it will look better than God of War 3 or play better than Bayonetta.

According to this preview, which basically described the exact same method of combat as in the first game.

We keep hearing that it has been "refined" or made more like an action game (for better or worse), but other than melee abilites being immediate-use now (rather than having a delay as your character moves into position), we have yet to hear any of the specifics on all this "streamlining". What the article described was no different from how combat ...

Yeah, it's just a video game. You just look at the screen and press buttons!

Both Metro and Alan Wake have atmosphere thick enough to cut with a knife. If you like games like Bioshock, Metro is easy to recommend.

Also, it's very easy to make even a great looking game look poor if you take bad screenshots, which some of these Forza 3 shots clearly qualify as. Imagine if someone did a GT5 comparison with non-premium cars or close-ups of trees?

But whatever, this is just a flame bait article anyways.

We don't even know what genre it is. It might be very unique, or it might not be.

Right now all we have to go on is that it looks to take place in a Roman Empire-era setting, and clearly it will be violent. It could be an action game, an action-RPG, first-person slasher, who knows...

Since when do the "pros" care about any form of motion control?

Most harcore gamers will simply be glad when gimmicks like Move and Kinect have come and gone. Let the casuals keep them. We're doing just fine with controllers.

Yeah, GTA seemed like the oddball. All the others are still a lot of fun to play today, even if I wouldn't necessarily rank Mario Kart in the #1 spot.

Nice to see more Tactics Ogre, but as much as I loved LUCT, we're really overdue for an actual new entry in the series. Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind a new FFT either...

I think Halo 1 got it right when Bungie broke convention by scrapping bosses altogether. That has become the standard, and I'm fine with it. Shooting the same enemy for ten minutes gets old fast.

There are exceptions, but usually they are only successful in games that have play mechanics that go beyond pure FPS design (such as Metroid Prime).

Amazing how Sony went from some of the most uneffective and just plain WTF ads to some of the best with Kevin Butler. It has been a learning experience :)

Does not equal "news". Check it out, I can speculate too:

In my opinion, Killzone 3 will get a monthly fee!!!

There, I've pulled a fabricated claim completely out of you know where. Clearly I deserve a front page link on N4G. And don't forget the flame bait over-dramatic headline!
