Honestly, when the video was actually centered on the screen, that looked pretty impressive. Seems to be recapturing some of what made COD4 so awesome, hopefully without the over-the-top campiness of MW2.
I care if it shows something like Spec Ops.
We know there is no co-op in the main campaign, so I'm hoping for some split-screen action, preferably more than just a zombie mode. Co-op challenges as in Spec Ops would be very welcome.
Somehow I doubt "the future" is everyone wearing funky glasses whenever they watch TV.
I agree that 3D will become the stantard eventually, but the tech is currently in its infancy. It won't go full mainstream until it overcomes the glasses hurdle and manages to display without a noticeable hit to the resolution.
Yeah, I've got every console, but no 3D TV, and honestly I don't feel any desire to buy one until they are glasses-free. Current 3D tech is like motion controls to me - just a phase that I hope passes like a child's mood swings.
I'm totally buying a 3DS though :)
Bethesda is probably the most ambitious studio out there, with games that are both sucessful sales-wise and in building huge, loyal fanbases. Heck, even the modding community for Morrowind is still going strong.
Totally agree. The PC version especially is one of the best looking games since Crysis. It's kind of absurd not to have it on here.
Also, some insecure people may not care for the art style, but the 360 version of Bayonetta had some jaw-dropping visuals.
Same here. The game has a lot of potential, but so did the first. I don't want to spend my time leveling up a bunch of force powers that all the later enemies are just immune to anyways. Will wait until the reviews start rolling in.
There actually is some good info in this interview. And props for the Bushido Blade reference :)
Hopefully not being able to control the altitude of the helicopter won't feel too restrictive.
I don't think the visuals would need to be compromised for online co-op (Gears 3 does the same with even more impressive graphics, although granted with far fewer AIs and vehicles on-screen at once). That's more a case of how good your netcode is.
It's split-screen that pushes the hardware, as then you're rendering everything twice. It's impressive that Reach looks as good as it does (with as much going on), given the continued split-screen support.
Yeah, I'm loving the art direction for this game. I hope the console versions don't become vaporware like the long-promised port of the first game.
Yep, it's a good day to own all the consoles and a PC. Oh wait, everyday is a good day to do that!
I'm sorry, was I supposed to make some idiotic comment about how I love one corporation and hate another out of some perverted sense of devotion?
better quality too. thanks!
"New Old Cole" honestly looks a little off, like his neck is too thin for his giant head when viewed at certain angles. The previous design at least felt more natural.
What did you expect them to say? "The experience will be better on our competitor's console!"
I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that you probably wouldn't last too long in the marketing world...
And heck, why not make it the inevitable GOTY edition.
Great exclusives on both consoles and the best versions of every multi-plat release. Unless you're poor, there's no reason not to own them all if you're a serious gamer.
Now all we need is a snow level...*crosses fingers*
Hehe, knew that was coming.
But honestly, while I love some of the choices (Mana 3 and Wind Waker totally deserve a mention), to bring up modern titles like God of War 3 and Gears 2 while ignoring the likes of Uncharted 2 or Crysis seems off.
This list would be better if the author drew a line between artistic style and graphics (or maybe made 2 lists), rather than just labeling it as "best looking".
Isn't every other shooter, where you're a normal human running around, absorbing absurd amounts of bullets while magically healing, selecting from superhuman abilities before the match, and summoning forth APCs and mortar strikes by killing multiple people in a row (do serial killers get to do that?), even more ridiculous?
By your logic, you must "not get the appeal" of any shooter, or any video game at all for that matter.
Bayonetta is hands-down the best action game this gen, and I own them all. It's a shame that the PS3 version got a poor port, but hating on the game because of that is just immature, like hating on Fallout 3 because the PS3 version was buggy. Grow up.
Love or hate its style, there's no denying the brilliance of the gameplay. Simply the ability to equip different weapons on your hands and feet made for a ton more variety in the combat than the competition. Add to tha...
