He was obviously referring to the overall visual experience, not the rendering of the game itself
It's still an awesome game. Seriously, played it on PC and it was intense !
That's too much of a generalization. You can't expect every game to run at TWICE the framerate on PS4.
The power gap is big, but not that big.
xD
Need to see it in motion to see how much of an improvement it is. Still, looks really nice :)
PSVR will be awesome, no doubt. The games for it already look much better than any Oculus Rift title I've seen so far
That said, just you wait till Oculus Rift CV1 comes out, and subsequent models. As time goes on, better hardware will enable incredibly high fidelity VR experiences. Not to mention already incredible experiences like PCars and Elite Dangerous. Star Citizen in a couple of years too.
As always, PC master race :D
Not a chance. The comparison to 3d is completely off and misinformed.
3D looked cool, but even at the time, it was absolutely nothing compared to this. See, when 3D came out, many people, including myself, didn't care for it; we saw it as a gimmick.
The Occulus Rift ? VR ? A lot of the same people that didn't care for 3D were blown away by VR. Again, I'm included in that. I never wanted 3D - but I really really want VR.
VR and 3D...
Ofcourse you aren't going to have games on PSVR that look as good as normal PS4 exclusives. That's obvious.
However, this doesn't mean bad looking games at all. Take a look at Rigs for example. It looks pretty damn good ! Depending on the type of game, you can end up with very good looking games.
Although, if devs wanted to do a detailed opened world like Horizon or The Witcher 3 in PSVR, it might not look good enough.
It's amazing seeing a studio put out something so innovative and creative. Never seen anything like Dreams
"remain a niche gadget"
not a chance. You do realize the OR isn't out yet ? Once the CV is released, and motion controls (Occulus Touch) come out, things will start falling into place. There are a ton of projects in the works of OR, and we'll start seeing them come out too.
As it is, the OR people bought was only a devkit ! You do realize this, right ? The thing isn't out yet. Even so, it's been wildly popular. The biggest youtubers...
" back then Crytek did more than just graphics though."
Please stop with that. It's really stupid, and untrue. Just because of Ryse: Son of Rome.
Crysis 1 had some of the most amazing fps gameplay to date. It is still more complex, interactive, tactical and fun than most fps games today.
Crysis Warhead puts 95% of other shooter campaigns to shame !
When most other shooters had hardly any simulation, physics,...
While you PS4 elitists keep trying to bring this up,
XBONE version will have advanced AI because of the extra runs on extended CPU paging operations based on the advanced architecture.
The biggest part you are missing is the balance. XBONE version Walker Assault is simply more balanced, because of advanced simulation processing. It has better gameplay overall. As we all know, gameplay>graphics.
The weapons have better recoil on XBONE because of E...
hmm okay, I really thought it was always supported.
Thanks for telling me though
PEASANT SCUM
KNEEL BEFORE THE MASTER RACE
yeah, they look bad...
It's really weird after seeing all the modded character meshes in Skyrim (the realistic ones, not anime lol). This is... a huge step down xD
Wait, Unity didn't have support for SSR until now ??
wow, I thought there were many Unity demos in which I saw it used. I mean... it's been around for a while in general.
There should be more exterior comparisons for things like draw distance, foliage density etc
Next gen does mean graphics. It also means a lot of other things.
Sure there will always be games that don't push systems to the limit, or even come close. That's irrelevant, because there will also always be games pushing hardware.
AAA titles are the ones that usually use the system to the fullest. The fact of the matter is, those games are suffering now. So many were downgraded because devs expected more and showed off prototypes before console spe...
That doesn't mean consoles don't need to be cutting edge at launch. They absolutely do need to be cutting edge. They did it the last two times. Why not this time ? Console optimization and whatnot doesn't mean you can have weak hardware. Don't you still want a giant leap going into an NEW GENERATION of consoles ?
I like both consoles, I'm not hating. They are what they are, and going forward we'll see incredible games (especially first party exclusive...
Jeez, calm down. He's not saying anything like that.
"We have been working on VR for a long time. A lot of these players did not even come into the game until long after we were well along on our current path"
He just said 'a lot of these players', then went on to talk about the Vive.
The statement is 100% true . Oculus was absolutely one of the first. And if you talk about being marketed/shown to the public, Oculus was in...
