Score comparisons make no sense... at all. The sooner you realize this the better.
Undertale isn't pitted against The Witcher 3 when they give it a score. They give it an arbitrary number based on the experience itself. Sure, there will always be some level of comparison, but that depends on soooo many factors.
Saying "This got a 10" but "that other game got a 9" is silly. It means nothing. Not to mention the reviewers are often comp...
"it ends up being pretty decent, people get talking about it, this talk becomes huge news and everyone wants to go into it already thinking it's amazing and comes out thinking the same because everyone else is doing the same. You know..."I like it because everyone else likes it and I don't want to say I don't because I don't want to be torn to bits over my different opinion..."
You're just making a large generalization that's never reall...
So what you're saying is the reviewer's opinion is invalid ? She thinks it's a 10/10
Why does that mean IGN loses credibility ?
The whining over scores is silly and makes no sense AT ALL. Don't know when you will realize this. Discuss the review if you want, and tell us why you disagree with the score, but that's it.
IGN losing credibility because a reviewer gave 10/10 to Undertale. Sorry, but that is... dumb. I suppose ...
No one is complaining. It's just what you'd expect. This article shouldn't be a reason to bash PSVR
The Rift has some higher specifications than the Morpheus and likely costs more, so it makes sense that you get a better image ?
Besides, then there's the PC. PCs can be very powerful, and will improve year after year. This will reflect in the experiences.
Overall, it's just the same as you'd expect from consoles and PC....
It's honestly just like you'd expect.
The OR is generally more on the high end, and that is also a result of the fact that it is built to take advantage of more powerful systems.
Even so, PSVR still looks to be a great VR experience anyway. Not to mention the great games that they'll have. RIGS looks great. Imagine Driveclub and GT with it. The Heist also looks awesome.
Well, this is a full fledged FPS game. It's hard for VR to not be an afterthought here.
Made for VR games have to be designed very differently. Even so, good VR implementation will still be awesome, even if EFT is not built for VR from the ground up.
@EeJLP
The Steam Statistics thing is illogical. The majority of those people don't want to do dedicated gaming in the first place. The majority of them play games like Dota 2, which doesn't require a powerful PC at all and has only basic graphics. Counter Strike is another one. I play Dota 2 on a laptop with integrated graphics. So, for example, when you include me as part of those statistics, it paints the wrong picture. I had a powerful gaming PC a couple of years ...
"I want to play a fully fleshed out RPG/Adventure game with the kind of depth we expect from a "normal" game."
The problem with that is we don't have nearly all the technology we need to create such an experience. I mean, sure, you could have a full RPG in VR, but it would only be partially VR controls.
Climbing demos and cockpit racing and space sims, mech games like RIGS, all of these work so well because they can be fully encompass...
Ofcourse not... not even close. Just another clickbait title, which unfortunately seems to be the largest determining factor in n4g commentator opinions.
What are you trying to say though ? That $600 is a rip off for the rift ?
Read source material, instead of swallowing clickbait titles.
Oh, and the "Obscenely Cheap" clickbait title too. You should read the source material there as well. Both of these titles paint a completely inaccurate picture, which a lot of people seem to want to jump on.
Needless to say, Palmer never actually said "Well, Go ahead and file a complaint then!"
The title is BS. Expected more from Gamersnexus.com
Again, actua...
Not sure why you've got disagrees. The title is a clickbait title period. It paints an inaccurate picture.
It's getting kind of annoying, honestly, especially after the "Obscenely cheap" clickbait title.
n4g specialists don't actually read anything but the title ofcourse, so they now all think Oculus and Palmer have sold their souls to evil corporations and have shafted customers for money and power
"Palmer Luckey doesn't seem to be doing himself any favours with his arrogant and out of touch attitude.
Maybe he should have a bit of empathy for fans of his product as he wasn't a millionaire when he started the kickstarter but after Facebook bought out Oculus Rift.
It's seems to be true that money and power changes a person...into an arrogant prick."
Again, swallowing clickbait titles and coming to silly conclusions...
Ofcourse, Palmer never actually said anything like that in the way you said it. Another clickbait title swallowed up by n4g commenters.
Please go and actually read the article, go to the reddit page and read the context.
Oh please.
n4g armchair specialists have been reading a bunch of clickbait headlines recently, and forming opinions based on that. Needless to say, the title to this article is also bullshit, and paints an inaccurate picture.
"Helping Palmer with his kickstarter was a huge mistake"
lmao, speak for yourself. Oculus is one of the main reasons we're going to see high quality VR, and also the reason we're going to see rapid inno...
It wouldn't be nearly as good though. Sure it's expensive, but it's better that way. All it means is that most people will buy it after some time.
That's not a bad thing either, because it's going to take a while for the really good content to come out
clickbait title.
"Obscenely cheap FOR WHAT IT IS"
ie it is a good deal for the hardware you are getting.
No one ever said it's a cheap product.
'obscenely cheap for what it is'
He's not saying it's cheap. He never said it's cheap. He even said VR (atleast on PC) will become something everyone wants before everyone can afford it.
'cheap for what it is' just means the hardware is more than worth it, and you're getting a good deal for the high quality hardware you're buying.
Can we stop with the silly jabs at Palmer ?
I'm happy they w...
"Obscenely cheap FOR WHAT IT IS"
it's a good deal, given the hardware you're getting. That's all he said.
Or maybe the reviewer just really liked it enough to give it a 10/10. Is that ever an option ? No, not on the n4g comments. Always silly score comparisons and the like. Some game which is popular among these users gets 7/10 - "OMG clickbait, bashing, fanboys"
other game that they don't like gets 10/10 "Losing credibility" "The Witcher got 9 and this 10 ?"
"IGN falling for popular game and giving it a good score just to follow t...
