Sure, that's your opinion and it's 100% valid.
From what I see,
- Personally I think the story and setting is VERY interesting overall (Time travel and sci fi>>>>> pirate treasure for me). Ending was perfect. Only if you get what's actually happening though, which most people wouldn't (I'm willing to bet you didn't :P) .
- The combat is some of the best I've ever seen. Cover shooting is just bland and...
"letting these sattire reviews through?"
Where's the sattire ? You don't want to let through reviews of a popular game because they are a lower score ?
N4G comment section makes me face palm in times like these. Absolutely pathetic.
Think of a hypothetical situation. A reviewer plays Uncharted 4 and is underwhelmed. Out of hundreds and hundreds of reviewers, few of them don't really like it. Quite probable, yes ? No, not just quite probable, but for all intents and purposes will ALWAYS happen, to EVERY critically acclaimed game.
In other words, it's inevitable. And when that reviewer finally posts his review. You fine folks will always, without fail, call it out for being "Clickbait&quo...
n4g comment section is sad.
Sorry guys, but maybe, just maybe it's the author's real opinion ? I mean, have you ever thought of that ? No ?
Let's try some basic logic okay ?
Let's take this slow. Out of 100s of reviewers, what are the chances that atleast one or two reviewers don't like UC4 that much, and/or like QB as an experience more than Uncharted 4 ? Statistcally pretty high, right ? (that's true for EVERY game, no ...
If it's the same reviewer, you might have a point, otherwise no.
Even if it is the same reviewer, he might have just liked QB more. QB and Uncharted are two very different games. One thing in UC4 may be good, but the same thing in QB might come off as bad.
No one goes into a game and reviews it saying "Hmm, I have a lot of problems with the overall experience, but even Quantum break used a similar mechanic and the overall score for that was high...
it could be a different reviewer ? Is it the same reviewer ? Or different reviewer on the same site ?
You can't have a game running at 60fps look as good as Driveclub on PS4. You can't have your cake and eat it.
It also runs at half the framerate. Keep that in mind. Also, give Polyphony time. I remember with SMS and Project Cars. The game still has jarring visual issues, but there were many more in early access. It just took time to polish them out and vastly improve the visual experience.
"but we'll see when he butchers a forthcoming game coming on their console. "
Just because they do it as well doesn't make it right.
Sure, in this case, it's an exception, and I kind of agree with it. The fact is, however, that this happens all the time on n4g, to a lesser extent, but enough that all the top comments are doing it. Atleast among people who bother to comment and agree/disagree...
For example, if Horizon Zero Dawn comes ...
I don't know how they're going to pull all that off while still maintaining the low persistence and weight and comfort and affordability that you get with Rift and Vive.
The Rift and Vive are not exactly 'affordable', but you get my point.
Uncharted 4 doesn't somehow overturn all the amazing things you get with a powerful PC lol.
it really depends what you're talking about. It's difficult to compare to a lot of games. Another thing to note : The screenshots in the article aren't that impressive.
Part of that is because the game looks much better in motion (see Gamersyde videos)
One thing though - animations and characters : UC4 is easily the best.
Now, moving on to other aspects, are there games on PC that could look better in their own ways ? Sure. You can g...
"Bollocks!! No hip fire and no cover shooting 2016... Yeah right!
Yeah, because we really need more cover shooting and hip fire, the two objectively better gamplay mechanics right ? *facepalm*
I haven't played either, but QB's gunplay looks more exciting to me than Uncharted. It's simply more interesting and visually satisfying from what I see. Frankly, it looks like the best shooting action I've seen in a looong time. It's not that hard ...
pathetic
you can stop with those kind of comments thanks.
PS4 Neo was a great choice by Sony, especially because they are pushing PSVR. VR inherently needs more processing power, and PS4 Neo will give devs a good increase
They could add in extra rendering features on a PC version. Stuff like specular occlusion to reduce some of the 'flatness' that you see in all games. QB is the only game I've seen so far which applies that across the board. More shadows and higher resolution shadows.
Uncharted 4 on PC would be graphics heaven.
I know that isn't going to happen, but hey, I can dream.
The overall package is what really counts here. There are games on PC that do specific things better, but... overall, Uncharted 4... ND does incredibly high quality and are CONSISTENT throughout ; easily a candidate for best graphics ever, on any platform. (it's still very subjective, mind you, unless you're talking about very specific aspects)
Especially when you talk about characters and animations, because that is something that is objectively better than any ot...
And who decides whether my opinion on a game is fabricated or genuine ? That's kind of the problem here.
Gamers see a lower score for a game they like, and immediately start saying what you're saying, which is essentially, "CLICKBAIT!" (you didn't really say that but you see what I'm getting at). It's what you see at n4g all the time, in the highest rated comments. It's utterly pathetic. Reviewers give valid criticisms, that you may not a...
Doesn't mean they should start making stupid statements like "This review is 8.8 just for clickbait", because that's silly. That's not valid criticism, that's just throwing accusations.
Some people want it to look as good as Driveclub, if not better.
That simply isn't possible. It runs at twice the framerate, and likely has many more cars on screen etc. Driveclub had some very advanced lighting and rendering, including full on reflections, even reflections of car parts on the cars themselves.
