Sarah's story was not very good to be honest, but you should check out Peter's blog - ask Liam for the link, Mackenzie doesn't have it.

That's right James, Peter's blog is good but Alicia's blog is fantastic, and even her blog doesn't even come close to the feeling you get when you earn 10 grand every month for doing the easiest, laziest work you've ever done. I startad only 2 months ago, and I'm already filthy rich. Isn't that right Liam ?

Wouldn't be surprised if this was the same in the full game. You choose to take the pill, and the game ends.

pretty sure this is a pre-rendered cutscene...
but still, it was good. Seems like the characters had a lot of work put into them.

You can tell from his eyes he's still pissed about Shireen.

Loved the previous two trailers, didn't like this gameplay though.

The launch sequence was mindblowing, but apart from that... Hopefully it's because it seems to be the beginning. I think combat in space with all your gadgets will be way more interesting.

Literally the opposite for me. Boring 10 minutes of same old COD gunplay, then it goes to the AMAZING new stuff.

It's still kind of annoying. COD's basic gunplay is still similar to earlier games like MW and BlackOps. Atleast with Battlefield they completely change the feel of the game every now and then.

This demo was 10 minutes of boring, same old firefights, and then the exciting stuff started. Hopefully it's just the beginning of the game.

Band is really cool. Definitely check out other stuff they've done like 'Silent Running' alternative score (they talk about it in the interview as well). Brilliant music imo, so glad that NMS will have their music :)

VR horror will probably be too traumatic for a lot of people. I think devs are going to have to design their games a little differently. You can't have endless trauma and terror, might need some rest, respite. Like Alan Wake - when you finally got to those floodlights or spotlights, you were safe, just for a while. You could almost feel the warmth of the light. Alan Wake wasn't particularly scary even otherwise, but still.

Are your referring to that time where they threw out the lore, fiction, premise of the entire series and replaced it with something completely unrelated and nonsensical, in the span of about 10 minutes ?

I'm still salty about that...

Cyberpunk 2077 is going to sell like crazy.

Just look at the jump from Witcher 2 to Witcher 3. Everyone knows about the studio now (by everyone you know what I mean). Couple that with all the good will that they've shown towards the gaming community, the excellent value for money, and the fact that their game was rated one of the best RPGs of all time.

If they keep this up, they'll get there soon enough. They've already sold around 10 million...

ND is an internal, first party studio. They don't fit the comparison. CDPR is referring very obviously to massive multiplatform devs with huge IPs and that are very successful. They're two very different things. Not to mention it wouldn't make sense for them to say "We want to get to where ND is", unless they're talking specifically about some game design element or character animation or something specific to the game experience.

Blizzard, Bet...

The title is NOT misleading. Read the quote again, or even watch the interview.

He says that they wanted to be among the top 3 rpg devs for the last five years, and he things they have already achieved that, The Witcher 3 being proof of that.

Then he goes on to talk about top 3 game devs in the world, atleast in their perception. That's where they aim to be.

Also, a lot of people bringing up Naughty Dog - they're a playstation e...

It's important to change every now and then.
eg: they changed with Bad Company
Then from Bad Company 2 to BF3. They didn't redesign the entire gameplay, but they changed the feel of the game, and that's an important thing to keep your game feeling stale.

The authors argument about depth and complexity only works if the actual gameplay depth is less in Battlefield 1 than previous titles. From I've seen that doesn't seem to be the case...

Things like the Zepellin, which are fully player controlled, the fact that vehicles now have locational damage that has appropriate effects, much better destruction. Changing weather which actually changes the gameplay at times (eg: fog)
Emphasizing class based combat, wher...

Was very impressed by the technical aspect of the demo... the game looks gorgeous. The zombie hordes were impressive too.

The actual demo was kind of boring tbh. Gameplay did look stiff as well, but I guess that's because we're used to animations from Assassins Creed, Uncharted 4 etc

Honestly as long as it feels remotely like something around that time period, it's ok. Even if it feels like WW2, it's actually fine for most people, because they wouldn't really know the difference.

"If they had been using something like havok physics like Valve used in Half Life 2"

but then they wouldn't get any of the features of Flex, which kind of defeats the point, since they were going for fluid simulations

The rendering is great, and more than that, they're running some crazy physics stuff here. Remember they have full fluid simulation running amongst other things.
