Stores don't have return policies these days?
I think it's absurd that so many people are saying that most of the sales for HW came from people who bought it JUST because of the Halo name. I am sure there are a few people that did, but does that make it a bad game? Does that mean it didn't deserve to sell well?
Play the game and you'll get a very polished (Just look at the cut scenes, they're very high quality), decent RTS game, an RTS game that works very well on co...
It's not worth 800 points. I'm sorry, it's just not.
I paid about £30 for my copy of WaW and yeah, it was ok, it was probably worth that. That's an entire SP campaign, deep MP and plenty of maps. They want me to spend like £6 on a couple more maps - that's 1/5 of what I paid for the game. No, it's just too much, like most DLC I refuse to pay for it.
Yeah, throw all of the kids onto a single server, that's not going to make it easier for paedophiles AT ALL...
Correction, the majority of people ANYWHERE are stupid.
Considering that every day there's still 2 or 3 articles examining some trivial aspect of the game, I'd say it's still riding the hype train, with groups dedicated to both trying to de-rail it and trying to give it more steam
There is nothing to say that it's actually the Unreal engine, it could be any number of engines, even the old RE4 engine. Still, I do enjoy seeing stuff like this, it's amazing how some games progress, for both the better and the worse.
It's not a fault of the engine, it's just developers not correctly using a feature of the engine.
The engine is designed for streaming data in as it needs it. This means you get shorter loading times and much larger levels, but some games do not optimise for it very well, creating a very obvious texture pop-in. Mass effect is the best example of this game and it's been described as a "technical mess".
Perhaps the blame can be attributed to Epic as well, though, it...
People say GT:5 is "just a demo", but I disagree, there's a good chunk of content in that "game" and it still receives updates, plus it has the TV section which is quite nifty. FFXIII's demo will be "just" a demo.
I'm not saying Advent Children wont sell well, I'm sure it will, but I'm not sure it'll be a console shifting thing. Surely by now those that are hardcore for FFXIII will have a PS3 and those that aren't are likely to just wait until the ga...
Do you really think a Demo is going to shift consoles? I mean, I'm sure FFXIII is going to at least quadruple PS3 sales for a good few weeks, but a demo? I'm not so sure.
Didn't a demo of FFX ship with the PS1 version of FFVI or something? How did that affect PS2 sales?
I'd love to see SWARMS of zombies attacking marines. Think Nazi Zombies meets L4D, I want hundreds of them coming at me so me and my buddies can rip them to shreds. More than 5 people would be awesome as well, imagine the kind of zombie horde that could take down 10 or 12 marines.
I'm getting sick of terrorists in games and hearing "terrorism" this and "terrorism" that. Even RE5 brandished the term around once or twice, which in my opinion is completely out of place in the game and only thrown in there to appeal to the "Omg terrorism!" American audience that laps it up.
There are plenty of real armies out there, real dictators, real scenarios we can deal with without having to just label them as a terrorist cell. Why can't we ...
His game was really good and enjoyable, but his attitude was not the best.
RTS games haven't been that popular for a while. Console RTS games even less so. And if KZ2 DIDN'T outsell everything, it being the most hyped up PS3 game so far, then I'd say something would have to be VERY wrong.
What exactly is wrong with the Halo Universe?
Seriously.
This is about a new game in the Universe, not necessarily an FPS. A couple of years ago, a similar posting was made and it turned out to be Halo Wars - an RTS in the Halo Universe. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it wasn't JUST another Halo game. It could have been a completely different universe and the game would have been the same.
This could be something else entirely. An RPG. An MMORPG...
Ask the publishers.
Nice to see competition is keeping things even. I like it when sales split down the middle.
Don't blame developers for their lack of art style. There's nothing wrong with UE3, it's a great engine, the fact that so many games use it is testament to that. Name a better multi-platform engine.
thereapersson, I would have believed that had it not been for this snide comment here. Bit of an insult towards developers, don't you think?
It's ok for you, as a consumer, to say "The price is fine!", but you're not a developer running a business, watching development costs rise and rise. We're all in a bit of a tough rut with the economy right now and developers are no exception. More PS3s means it's easier for them to turn a profit on the games they make. It's not greed, many are just trying to stay afloat.
More PS3s means means developers can work harder and longer on their games because they'll sell bet...
This is EA we're talking about, here. Of course they're going to squeeze as much as they can from people. I hear that MLB 09 comes with a code in the box that you need for online play, so you can't just buy a used copy of the game without having to pay to play it online. They're a Joke.
