2 things:

1) What Kotaku is talking about is not ghosting. It's talking about what happens when you upscale a particularly low-res image (such as those early games) to a HD format. Those graphics are supposed to be pixelated and the games were designed with this in mind, but when they get upscaled they look a bit "blurry" due to the AA that gets applied during the upscaling. This happens on Plasma TVs and even CRT computer screens when you plug the console in via a TV t...

"I've come to the end of a lush voice-athon and yes, am empowered to confess that it was for a new PSP version of Little Big Planet."

-Stephen Fry, via Twitter

Nothing to see here, people, LBP PSP was announced ages ago.

These WoW articles really need to MENTION WoW in the title.

"A movie for the game was promised for XBLA soon, but no specific details were given"

XBLA = Xbox Live ARCADE.

He means XBLM (Xbox Live MARKETPLACE).

What's the chance most of this wont ever hit the European PSN?

I'd like to see him go work with Bethesda. They both love creating very large, very ambitious games, but Bethesda seems to take it about 10 steps too far and end up with a bit of a glitchy mess on top of what is a really good game. Fallout and Oblivion suffer a lot from this, huge worlds that have a lot of odd glitches in them. Kojima almost goes the opposite, creating a super polished game that almost feels cut-down in a sense. Like MGSs combat, AI and such is actually fairly basic when you ...

darkride66: You conveniently forgot to mention that the PS2 was also pirated to hell, more than the Xbox was at least. If the 360 wasn't so popular, the PS3 would probably get hacked a lot sooner. It's never something that you'll beat for long, it's only a matter of time.

Bucky Sligo: MK vs DC was ok, but it's not brilliant. Its only been successful because there's been a distinct lack of fighting games this generation. There's VF5, SC4 and SFIV and that's about it as far as I ca...

As a new PSP owner (As of about friday last week), I can honestly say that nothing on that list interests me what so ever. Particularly as it's all possible with custom firmware anyway.

Yeah seriously, when was the last time Midway made a really decent game?

Victory? What victory?
They got about 10 guys convicted, that's it. Thousands upon thousands of people still use TPB every single day and that doesn't account for all of the private trackers out there, newsgroups, file-exchange forums (you know the ones, the ones that put everything up on sites like rapidshare in about 20 different pieces), etc. etc.
There is no victory here at all, what they're trying to do is futile. Even if they shut the pirate bay down tomorrow, that wont stop...

Also I can tell you right now that there's many thousands of happy PSP owners out there who haven't used a UMD in years.

No GTA5 any time soon, Rockstar still has 2 more DLC expansions to make for MS.

Microsoft didn't use "shoddy hardware components" to cut corners, they simply didn't do enough Quality assurance and testing before launching the console. They didn't do this to save money, they rushed it because they wanted to be the first to market. Its cost them far more money in the long run, anyway, but MS is happy to throw money at the problem because they're playing for future generations and not just this one.

"Loading times can be curtailed as well with a stronger processor, RAM etc. Coupled with a better batter that will be more able to run the operations I don't see this as a major problem with the PSP2."

Not true. The Processor/RAM etc. aren't a bottleneck here, the UMD is. Just what exactly do you expect the processor to do while it's waiting for data from the UMD to stream? It can't process data it doesn't have access to.

You know, flash memory has only gotten cheaper and cheaper lately. UMDs hold what, like 2Gb of Data at the most? Plus they're a huge drain on battery life and need a stupid plastic shell to stop them getting scratched to hell. It just makes no sense to create such a format.
But now you can pick up 2GB SD cards for like £2, sony owns their own Memory Stick format so they immediately get a huge discount on the technology behind it. And with the way that technology has went, it alread...

What a compeltely useless article. To sum it up, the author basically praises the 360 for a bit, then has a go at Microsoft for not having a HDD as standard and not using Blu-ray. You know, that MAY be a fair comment, but the article suggests that Microsoft is considering sticking with that formula for the next generation.

I say that's rubbish.

If you think about it, the 360 came out an entire YEAR before the PS3. The PS3, sure it has blu-ray, but at what cost? It's ...

Just read the comments from anything on N4G that has a title that indicates that either the PS3 or the 360 is inferior. I guarantee, just about every other comment someone will say something that's either completely absurd or makes no sense at all. I tend to think "WTF?" about twice a day on this site because of fanboys.

If you read what you said carefully, it essentially boils down to whether a platform has hits or not. Piracy doesn't really come into it.

If it's easily pirated and has no hits, it's a failure.
If it's not easily pirated and has no hits, it's a failure.

If it's easily pirated and has hits, it's a success.
If it's not easily pirated and has hits...it's still a success.

This article has a lot of inaccuracies in it. Any point it was trying to make has failed due to this.

For example:

"Atari's ST, the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum all fell due to the rampaging pirates because it no longer became viable to invest in development for the systems."

No, they "fell" because they were old technology and got replaced by newer machines. Not one of those is considered a "failure" and the C64 still has a...
