You give a media streaming app COMPLETE access to your entire hard drive?
That's umm....that's not a good idea...
@Cenobia
Every update released for the 360 has been completely free, so what's your point?
You obviously don't know anything about Primetime, THAT'S what's innovative. Doesn't matter if it's 1vs100 or something else, it's still innovative.
Unless there's been another quiz show game where you play against hundreds of real players, completely with a live presenter and such?
I don't know about anyone else, but I've not went near MGO because of this whole Konami ID thing. I'm not arsed about making an ID, but I AM bothered that my console is locked to it.
It's still something more than you were getting before. I get the feeling this is the direction MS is going to differentiate live from PSN.
orakga: You realise that this will be the 7th game in the front Mission series? You may not like this style of game, but evidently many people do.
To be fair, Front Mission is another fairly big series from Squeenix that goes back a few console generations all the way back to the NES. This will be the 7th game in the main series. 7th!
Not saying it's the biggestgameofalltime, it's a fairly niche game (Real-time strategy RPG?), but it'll certainly boost sales of the 360 in Japan and I'll consider picking it up eventually myself.
Fantastic!
I remember saying a few weeks ago "The real prizes sound good, I'll be happy with just a few MS points and such, but make it all free and I'll be sold". Well, I'm sold! This is a first-day download for me for sure!
I cannot wait!
Nah, they've said it'll be available in a few regions. I don't remember which ones, but I know Europe is definitely getting it.
The PS3 isn't harder to develop for, per-se, it's just harder to get the absolute most out of it. It's not the CELL, it's just the fact that it's got 6 SPUs. If it had one big processor that was as powerful as all 6 combined, it'd be as easy to develop for as anything.
Multi-core programming in games is a fairly new concept. I mean, it's been done before, but not to a large extent, that kind of thing was usually reserved for large clusters of computers, scientific calculations, that sor...
Actually their official title is TOY company. Seriously. That's why they don't attend the Tokyo Games Show - they're not a games company.
I wish I was making this up.
There's been a bunch of XBLA titles with greater than 150Mb file size lately. I don't think there's been an official word, but it seems file size limits are no longer a factor.
I'd be really interested in this if it wasn't for the fact that it's yet ANOTHER WWII shooter...
It's useless because Sony quite literally crippled it. You don't have direct access to the GPU so everything runs in software mode. This makes it painfully slow for anything remotely graphically intensive.
I want the PS3 to be jailbroken so that people can make some really cool stuff for it. With direct GPU access, PCSX2 could easily be ported to the system.
I agree this article is BS and just trying to spin a favourable mistake for people into bad press for MS.
Still, I'm getting very annoyed at all of the 1200 point arcade games lately. It's not like most of them are any better than most of the 800 point games that have come out. I get the feeling that after Braid (Which, in my opinion, WAS worth 1200 points, even if Jonathan Blow is an arrogant twat), MS figured they could charge more for all their games =\
If you're a REAL fan of SF4, you'll use an arcade stick anyway. What does it say when the Playstation's d-pad is leaps and bounds ahead of the 360's, but the Arcade stick is leaps and bounds ahead of THAT?
Yes but on the same note, the number of times the game has been downloaded does NOT represent the number of lost sales.
If 10,000 people download it, that doesn't REALLY mean that Sony has lost 10,000 sales, some of those people will still buy the game, many never had any intention of buying it (and even if the PSP couldn't be pirated, they still wouldn't) and many aren't capable of buying the game (They may be too young, or not have enough money, or live in a country where it's ...
Yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhh....
Good luck with that.
The Win7 beta is pretty damn slick and the later builds are even better. There'll be a time of overlap, even after Win7 comes out, where XP will still be the preferred platform due to legacy issues, but a year or so later, 7 will be the definitive gaming OS. It's pretty much what happened when XP came out.
Hold on, who told you that you needed gold to use Avatars? That's completely wrong. If you've got a silver account (or even a non-live account), you can use Avatars just fine. Doesn't matter if the game uses or needs avatars, they're still free and they still work no matter what you're account is. Gold is purely for online stuff. If you're silver, updates are still free. You still get marketplace content (although usually a week later, but you still get it), you can still do everything except...
