All you'll see is a trailer for Star Trek running smoothly. Is it really that hard to imagine?

CUDA is specific to nvidia cards, ATI has their own GPGPU software called "Stream", it just so happens that nVidias was more popular, for one reason or another. Shaders are the same deal, both ATI and nVidia have their own shader language specific to their hardware. However, there exists intermediate shader languages that run on both (Such as DirectX Shaders and OpenGL shaders) and GPGPU is the same. DirectX has "DirectCompute" and there is also "OpenCL" which is...

Halo 3 isn't really "nickel and diming". Overcharging with ODST for sure, but "nickel and diming" is more along the lines of Microtransactions. The Avatar Marketplace and PS Home are both equally guilty of this. EA has a history of it and companies like Namco have tried their hand at it as well (look at Tales of Vesperia DLC, Soul Calibur IV and so on).

I hate the idea of paying "a few MS points" for a small amount of content. Sure, 800 points doesn'...

More clarification is needed on the differences between the 360 and the PS3 version. We've seen many developers claim that one platform is "better" than the other, but more often than not the differences seem to end up being minimal, at least on multiplatform games.
Yes, we could argue exclusives until the cows come home, but as this is a multiplatform game, it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Not a single person is willing to believe Microsoft, but does anyone have any actual proof to back up claims going either way?
All the "evidence" is anecdotal.

What has any of that got to do with the fact that you're comparing a demo with 2 year old code and a bunch of teaser videos that could have been edited in all kinds of ways? We wont TRULY know which is the better game until both are finished and in the hands of consumers. WE might have a damn good idea, but you can't make a definitive or "unbiased" call until the final products are done.

If it was truly fair, you'd be comparing the final code of both games, not 2 year old previews, demos, trailers and whatnot.

Keep in mind, guys, this is more than likely going to Arcades before it comes anywhere near consoles, so I wouldn't place any bets just yet.

This is capcom, they'll release about 10 different versions of SFIV before they're done with it.

No it doesn't. Gaming on Apple systems was an afterthought on Apple's part. People don't buy the devices to play games on them, they buy them for music, videos, internet and so on.
If Apple released a more powerful one just for games, it wouldn't sell 1/4 of what the PSP or DS does. If they release a games console, good luck - they might get away with badmouthing Microsoft at every turn, but try doing that to Sony and see what happens.

"The prequel to MW2 is MW1. "

No it is not, a PREQUEL has to be made AFTER but set in a time BEFORE the original. Or to but it another way, a "Sequel set in the past". The "prequel" to MW2 doesn't exist yet because it hasn't been announced or made.

Lets take a different game series as an example, since it has both.

Halo and Halo 2. Halo is the original, Halo 2 is the sequel. Halo is NOT a "prequel" because it was m...

But what if I'm just an average joe, but all my friends are fanboys who prefer to pay monthly? I could play alone for free, or on Live with my friends. So torn! :(

There are a few loudmouths going on about how it's just a rehash and all this, but to be perfectly honest Modern Warfare was some of the best online fun I have EVER had, let alone this generation. With comparatively little publicity (compared to some other games), it managed to sell absolutely bucketloads and the reason is simple - it was great fun, a solid game and it didn't take much for word of mouth to spread. I seen this with my own two eyes, I bought the game because I heard it was good...

A lot of people love to hate on success for some reason.

EDIT: Prequel? Uhhh, no, Modern Warfare was absolutely not a prequel. All COD games before that were WWII, Modern Warfare is set in modern times. Modern Warfare 2 takes place AFTER Modern Warfare 1. I don't see a prequel anywhere?

"+ where the hell is flash support for 64 bit OS?"

Go ask Adobe, that's their responsibility, not Microsoft's.

That's not a trailer, that's very poorly shot shaky-hand-cam footage.

Oh because "the xbox crowd" represents every single person who owns an Xbox? They all have the same opinions, the same thoughts and feelings with regards to everything?
Does that also apply to the PS3 crowd?

I happen to own both. Which am I?

Or more than likely "Oh my god, that reviewer was paid". Heaven forbid a good game was released on the system.

6095d ago 6 agree1 disagreeView comment

I'm sure there'll be many people complaining about high review scores because the game doesn't look quite as good as Gran Turismo. Because everyone knows that graphics are more important than everything else.
