DLC AND a "special edition" retail disk that comes with it, that way everyone wins.
I'm sorry, but going by Jack's logic, the Wii is the best brand, since EVERYONE can play on it, young and old alike. Honestly, how many over 50's own Wiis compared to PS3's? How many under 15's? The only market the PS3 has a distinct advantage is the Hardcore market, the casual Market is clearly being dominated by the Wii and just looking at the sales, you can see that more people fill that market than any other market.
Now, lets throw in a red herring - Natal. You might love it...
Sorry, but where's the evidence of anything actually getting gimped? If you read both articles, particularly this one, you'll notice that they used a very different rendering technique for the 360 version that's better suited to the hardware, so how does that make the PS3 version "gimped"?
Considering Namco have used full HD videos for the intro/outros of the PS3 version, that says to me that they're willing to take advantage of a machine's strengths when they could have easil...
I've yet to play a game where I felt the full RRP was justified. I have and always will look around for the best deal on a game and rarely pay more than £35 on launch day. If its a few weeks after launch, I often pay somewhere between £25 and £30. If its a few months later, you can easily pick up most games for under £20.
Thanks but no thanks, Activision, unless I happen to get a particularly good deal, I'm happy to wait until after Christmas, there's enough other ti...
Its important to keep in mind that pretty much every Blu-ray player out there today wont be able to play these disks. In fact, I don't know of any that are capable of reading the 8-layer disks that were talked about before the PS3 even launched.
Having to buy a new player essentially means that it may as well be an entirely new format, one that movie studios are unlikely to support since they could sell a 10-disk pack that millions of people can buy, or a 1-disk pack that only maybe a f...
It was an ok film. It was made more interesting by the fact that one of my housemates is the spitting image of the main character lol.
Due to a fairly rare eyesight condition I have, this 3D technology doesn't work on me. I only found this out the other day when I went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D. First 3D film I'd ever seem.
I was gutted it didn't work, I was really looking forward to the shift to 3D, now its meaningless to me =\
"First of all this is Eurogamer an infamous 360 fanboy site."
And yet the first half of this article details on how many 360 games are sub-HD, how Microsoft tried to cover it up and how their flagship title was given a free pass while everyone else had to work around it. Then they mention, at least 4 or 5 times, that this particular in-depth analysis is ONLY done on the 360 since they don't have any PS3 code to test with and thus can't say anything about it, other than ...
GFWL is a really really good idea, it just hasn't been brilliantly implemented. Too much focus was made into making it act like Xbox Live, which just does not Gel on PCs.
Natal is only part of the puzzle, what it needs still is a "killer app". Something that really shows off what Natal can do while setting it apart from all the motion wands out there. That may never materialise, but if it does it could make the 360 sell like hotcakes.
You're SO right! I guess you know better than all those developers, huh?
Wait, what is it YOU do for a living, again?
All those JRPGs were absolute crap, with Mystwalker's titles being the only real exceptions, its no wonder they didn't set Japan on fire.
"Plus, what happens if you're like me and hardly have any space left on your HD? Do I have to delete games now just so I can play Forza 3? I don't understand how this isn't a bad decision."
And that's different from the PS3 or PC How? Those have MANDATORY installations for the majority of their games and if your HDD is full, you HAVE to delete stuff. MS is no different here.
Yes, that's entirely Microsoft's fault, not theirs.
Of COURSE its an inconvenience, but the point YOU'RE missing is that anyone who owns an Arcade WILFULLY picked that inconvenience when they were too cheap to buy a premium system.
Love the disagrees, I stated the facts and nobody can disagree with them.
If you don't have a hard drive, then BUY ONE, you didn't pay full price for a full 360 and that was your choice. And if you have a memory card, you can STILL install the content to it, just not the whole thing. That was YOUR choice and not the fault of the developer or Microsoft.
I love the logic. Microsoft gives you the CHOICE to buy a 360 with a hard drive or without one. The one without is ...
OMG at least 2/3 of the commenters here have CLEARLY not even read the article!
Here's the FACTS (read them!):
The install is NOT Mandatory, it is completely optional.
There is NO disc swapping, either the content is installed and you can use it, or it's not.
You don't HAVE to install the full 1.9Gb, you can install smaller components if you're pushed for space.
"Damn, a 1.9GB mandatory install... the world is over. "
Way to not read the article, it clearly states that the entire install is OPTIONAL and, in fact, you can install specific parts of it if you don't have enough space.
The original article for this is weeks and weeks old, the site that claims to own the chip was proven to be a hoax by some random kid somewhere in the UK (I think). This wasn't news 6 weeks ago and it certainly isn't news now.
I CAN "Wait" for Halo: reach, but only because we essentially know nothing about it. It could well be the best surprise of this generation, but it could be all hype and no substance. Until they actually release some solid details about what it is, I'll not be baiting my breath too much.
I should point out that I said the same thing about Alan Wake years ago and now that we do have some details for it, I'm starting to get a little excited.
