They could just be thanking them because they like their games? In all liklihood, they've had a bit of banter at the various press shows and games conventions they've been to, I mean didn't we see pics of Bungie employees playing U2 a few weeks ago?
You can be absolutely sure that most people in the industry are gamers at heart and they're not just going to play their OWN games, they'll play and enjoy other games, too. I'm sure many people at ND love a bit of Halo and CoD and lik...
Good to know that ND think that fanboyism is idiotic and stupid as well. I bet they get really pissed off when they see stupid fanboys using their games as examples when in the middle of a pointless flame war. ND are clearly gamers at heart, as we all should be.
I love it when a good review means it was obviously paid for. Heaven forbid that its actually a good game, that would never happen.
Strangely enough, though, nothing was said about the Wii, the (in my opinion) more obvious platform to jump to, if you were going to that is.
"Well, considering that MS patented ingame music, their method of cross chat, I'm sure there'd be a lot of happy lawyers if that had happened."
Lets have some proof to back up this claim, please. Last I heard, it was EA's fault the PS3 couldn't do any of that.
I suppose Hitachi copied the Eye Toy as well?
"Might be true that nothing is original, but MS has a bad habit of being "unoriginal" right behind someone else. "
So its bad that they're quick to copy good ideas? Do you think anyone would have slammed sony for implimenting Trophies, cross-game chat, ingame XMB, ingame soundtracks a few weeks after the PS3 launched?
Likewise, if Microsoft dragged their heels "copying" someone, people would slam them for that as well. These companies can't win...
I love it when people quote other random people from the internet and use that as part of their argument as to why that entire demographic is stupid.
There's enough fanboys on every side of the pitch that you can call on to make idiots out of, but it doesn't really make you look any better. (I'm not referring to what Greenberg said, I'm referring to people who start sentences with things like "but all the 360 fanboys said..." or "didn't the ps3 fanboys say...").
Portable Xbox? Its called a Zune HD. No, I'm not saying its the ultimate gaming handheld or anything, but if I was Microsoft, I'd use that as the perfect platform to launch into handheld gaming.
No, he's talking about Avatar the game (not based on the film):

1000GS in about 3mins.
"Nintendo created the Wii as a result of the gaming industry shrinking by only catering to the 18-35 year old male demographic. "
Sorry, what? I don't know what console you think you're referring to, but its not the Wii. The Wii's target audience is the under-18's and over 40 types, the "Casual gamers".
The hardcore market is the 18-30 category and that's exactly what the PS360 targets, with a bit of leeway here and there.
I have to admit, I DID genuinely think that Fallout 3 was a bit boring, but I felt the same way about Oblivion and Morrowind. Huge worlds with not a lot in them. Looking forward to borderlands.
Developers talk s*** about other developers all the time, they ARE the competition you know. I would expect the same from just about any industry. Hell, look at the s*** Apple throws at Microsoft.
I don't understand why they can't also bring the titles to the 360? As far as I am aware, the 360 and the Dreamcast have a similar heritage in many ways, in fact didn't the Dreamcast run on a special version of Windows CE?
Not that there's anything wrong with the PS3/PSN at ALL, I'm simply saying that there's no real benefit to porting an old classic to just one platform. Its not like you'd REALLY be able to take advantage of it if it was just a simple port and both consoles are more th...
I'd love to see them on XBLA, but I'd happily fork out full price for say...Shenmue I and II on retail disks.
NomadX, I'm guessing you failed to recognise that this article has nothing to do with the gaming industry and was, in fact, referring to Microsoft's other core products - Windows, Office and so on. Try again.
Now do that same comparison and look at the ones that make the most money.
I've seen that you can get converter boxes to get today's TV signals working on old TV sets. I'd love to see if converter boxes existed for this old, obscure "HD" standard, just so we could see someone playing say Gran Turismo 5 on that thing. In High-Def.
And south park TD is out in a couple of days. Would it have made this list had it been out sooner? I can't wait to find out.
THe sad reality is that theres thousands, probably millions of gamers out there who are just as hardcore as anyone else, but simply can't afford to put down the full RRP. I know exactly how they feel so I completely get why used games sales exist. If developers were more keen to lower prices of digitally distributed content, in line with price drops retail stores give out weeks and months after development, it would go a long way to appeasing everyone while directly making developers more mon...
