It's up to the publisher to provide dedicated servers, not Microsoft.
And then you get things like EA shutting down those servers after a year, at least with a P2P system you can still play it years and years later, after the publisher has gone bust and so on. Both PSN and Live are identical in this respect.

No, it's clearly an attempt to grab the paedophile market.

I think you're both still focusing too much on "Existing games with Natal elements" when the article is talking about entirely new experiences. Think beyond Halo and COD.

I honestly can't say what it could entail and that's why I'm intrigued by it all, it could be rubbish or it could be the biggest thing since sliced bread. Unlike many naysayers here, I'm keeping my mouth shut until I see some games.

"Saving face" may be a part of it, but that is only a small part. The issue is how it would split the 360 userbase in half.
Think of it like the Hard Drives, most games are designed to work without the hard drive (That doesn't mean they wont make use of it if it is there!) because its the lowest common denominator and will run on all 360's. If you publish a game on a BR disk for the 360, you know the only people that would POTENTIALLY buy it are those with a BR drive. So devel...

Keep in mind that just because the GPU supports DirectX, it doesn't necessarily mean that it'll run anything at a decent framerate. Many of those DX11 GFX cards will be lower-tier models, mobile varients and such.
I'm not trying to downplay this at all, or in any way imply that PC gaming is truly dead (I'm a PC gamer myself, albeit still an nVidia fan), I'm just saying that you have to be a little bit objective.
I'm glad ATI has got their act together again, it was rubbish when nV...

People on this site just don't make sense.
Nobody seems to want to acknowledge that, even today, the Wii is selling rediculous numbers. Sure, its all casual players buying it and you could argue that this is why the "mature" games tend to fail on the console, but on the same note a lot of those mature games (like Madworld) weren't that great anyway.

Then, Microsoft tries to get into the game and all anyone can say is "how is Natal going to work with mature ga...

Bit of a misleading title, it's referring to the cover for the mag, not the Box art for the game.

People are going to, as usual, fight tooth and nail over which version looks better when the reality is that the game itself simply doesn't look like anything special. Nothing worth getting worked up over, but people will none the less.

And remember, if you're "pro" one of those consoles and can't fathom it being in any way inferior, it'll be "better AA" or "sharper" instead.

Let it be known that I, Kushan the 1st, a long standing straight man with a string of ex-girlfriends to prove it, will gladly give head to any man that can get me this game early. Gladly.

There's no such thing as an "unlimited power" system. Everything has a limit, even the PS3 (If it was TRULY unlimited, one PS3 would be able to do every single work unit for Folding@Home instantly, immediately giving us a cure for every disease ever made and, most probably, becoming sentient enough to not only destroy the human race, but raise its own consciousness to another plain of existence).
Now I'm not bashing the PS3 at all here, I'm just pointing out the idiocy of refe...

The fact that your name is "mrblacknut" just makes that rebuttle so much better. Props to you, my friend! And some bubbles.

It'll go one of two ways:

1) It's expensive, meaning nobody will buy it because of the 3-figure RRP and fail

- OR -

2) It'll be cheaper, sub-$50 (with a game) but rely a bit on the 360 to work.

All in all, I'm fine with the second option, I've played too many games this generation that boasted they were "Pushing the console to its limits" only to be an absolute letdown. Some of my favourite games have been those that, by all other ...

Plus, that was over the CHRISTMAS PERIOD. It's not going to sell like that ever again. It might barely hit 1million sales, which is pretty good, but there's what, 50, 60million Wiis out there? Hardcore games on the PS3/360 were able to double that with half the consoles sold.

To be fair, this year is the exception with 3x the number of good games coming out than the Wii normally gets.

And in other news, apparently you can get a air of life out of a dead horse if you beat it enough.

5887d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I guess every console ever made fails, then? Unless you can pick up a PS3 or 360, as well as the games for them, for free, then by your logic they fail.

How about the rest of the actual bloody singleplayer campaign? Anyone that finished it knows that it just sort of ends out of the blue, shortly after going on some mad tangent, without really resolving the main story.

Hey guys, here's a hint for you: Graphics rely more on the GPU. Natal uses the CPU, not the GPU. So all this talk about "gears-like graphics" is idiotic, especially as you have no idea how much CPU power gears actually uses.
Its very difficult to have all processors (and GPUs) running at full tilt all of the time, there's always some time when they're waiting to be fed data from another process and since Natal's input calculations can run as a near separate process (not depend...

Stop calling it 30FPS, it's 30hz. FPS refers to rendering frames, this is something different.
