Try reading the article, Vhero. Its referring to how fast INPUT is detected, not how fast the game displays at. There's no reason why a game can't be 60FPS and smooth.

No, costs were the only reason to ditch the chip. Even hardware requires software to run, except instead of calling it a software update, we call it a firmware update. Don't let the blurb fool you, this was purely cost-cutting (and I'm not saying that's a bad thing, either, if Natal is to succeed, it needs to be cheap).

Being able to play some old classics? Brilliant idea.
NAvigating around a "games room" with a 3D avatar? Pointless and idiotic. I don't care if its Microsoft or sony, all that is, is a fancy 3D Menu to select what I want to play. I'd rather have a simple 2D quick launch for said classic games, a bit like how the current XMB/Guide operates.

It doesn't matter how "expensive" it is, if it works out just £1 cheaper to pirate your games than to buy them, people WILL pirate them.
Plus, think realistically, the 360 isn't that "easy" to hack for a novice user, it requires opening the console, running special software, sometimes even soldering, the vast majority of people don't bother and simply get someone else to do it for them. So complexity doesn't matter.
Going along with that, 25Gb today is not...

Question: How is taking a free, open source OS, modifying it to look like a different OS, then releasing it for free on the internet actually PIRACY? It's not XP and Ubuntu is free, so why does it keep on saying "chinese pirates"?

Lets do some reading between the lines: He said he was hoping to talk about it, but was told he couldn't. He's the guy that founded Mystwalker so whoever told him he couldn't talk about it was either the publisher or, more than likely, one of the big 3 (Most likely Nintendo or Microsoft, personally betting on Microsoft). So from what I can gather, whatever it is, its at least an exclusive for the Wii/DS or 360.

Raw, baseless Speculation: Natal RPG, maybe?

"The PS3 and Xbox 360 both have a common limiting factor in their texture quality, but being less powerful, it’s more noticeable on the 360 in one particular area: Environment, particularly ground, textures."

Is a common misconception. Yes, on the whole the PS3 is more powerful than the 360 thanks to the CELL, but that only makes it more powerful in certain ways. Thinks like physics (and thus AI), collision detection, that kind of thing are where the PS3 is capable of t...

I'll game with anyone that knows the meaning of the term "Teamwork"!

I'd be willing to bet good money that you've hit the nail on the head - not a "new" dashboard (as in how the NXE was compared to the old blades), but more likely an extension or subtle modification to the existing one, most probably to make it work more effectively with Natal.

Awww, did I hit a nerve? Here, have a cookie.

Seriously, these comment sections exist because various people have various opinions and, as crazy as it might seem, some of us actually enjoy debating those opinions.

Isn't that pretty much the philosophy behind N4G? Take what others are reporting and quote a bit of it?

1) Multiple disks? Wouldn't be the first game, wouldn't even be the first FPS to do it and as Halo is a generally Linear game, there's no reason why it couldn't be nicely split over 2 or 3 disks if necessary.

2) 3 core processor limitation? Compared to what? The 7 (6) SPUs of the PS3? You realise that 1 PPC core is not the same as 1 CELL SPU, right? In the same way that an Intel Core 2 duo core running at 2.5Ghz will run rings around a Pentium 4 3.4Ghz CPU. Or as a better example...

I never once said that IW shouldn't fix it or that it wasn't their responsibility, I merely stated that bugs/glitches are more certain to happen than not to happen. IW will fix it as and when they can because they're a good developer and support their games properly.
People were saying that IW needs to "learn to code" and this was my problem - they know how to code and if the people who made such statements knew how to code, they'd realise that bugs will happen no matter what....

If the bans were permanent, then I'd think it was far too harsh, however if the bans are only temporary (couple of days for most, it would seem) then I think it's fair. Its a slap on the wrist for deliberately ruining the game for others, it just so happens that the way to do it was a glitch in the game. I feel the same suspensions should be given out to ANYONE who deliberately tries to ruin someone's experience online, be it through a glitch or not.
Take, for example, those that spam t...

Pretty sure they know how to program. To say that this glitch came about because of a stupid programming error that any novice programmer would have spotted is idiotic. As software systems become more and more complex, bugs are BOUND to happen. They don't measure an application by how many bugs are in it, but rather how many bugs there are per 1000 lines of code. In other words, it's assumed that bugs WILL happen, but what is important is that they don't happen too much.
This wont be th...

I PREDICT that Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will release another console at some point in the future.

That is all.

Because you'd be surprised at the amount of gamers who don't keep up with the latest games and when they're coming out. I know plenty of people who pretty much ONLY play Final Fantasy (OR Halo OR Gran Turismo*) and don't care about other games. They likely wont be keeping up with the latest news and so advertising grabs them and gets them excited for the next FF game. It doesn't just apply to those weird one-game-series-only wonders, think of all the casual gamers, all the mums and dads looki...

Wow, some of you people are so ignorant, it's actually scary.

A 3 year development Cycle is, in the OS world, completely normal. In fact 3 years is actually quite long compared to many.

Lets look at the competition. Starting with Mac OS X and in reverse order -

10.6 - August 28, 2009
10.5 - October 26, 2007
10.4 - April 29, 2005
10.3 - October 24, 2003
10.2 - August 23, 2002
10.1 - September 25, 2001

Yeah and Valve internally use the latest Steam SDK, what makes everyone so sure that this issue would have actually affected other games on Steam? Has a developer complained? Has anyone else said anything? Or is the author just presuming there's an issue when there appears to be none?
