The only feature I'm looking for is being able to play streamed music ingame =\
It's just ONE example of a plethora of things you have to adhere to. You might think it doesn't affect you, but have you actually seen any of the TRC requirements? Until you have, you cannot comment.
EDIT: I just remembered a slightly better one (I no longer work for the company doing nintendo dev so I don't have direct access to the TRC file I'm referring to): To release a DS title, you need to make use of so many of the DS's "features", i.e. the touch screen, mic, cl...
There wasn't a reason to update to XP when it first came out, either. Windows 98 didn't suddenly stop running the same programs you used to run and there was quite a large and vocal number of people who hated it, but now look at it.
I don't think Windows 7 was intended to be anything revolutionary, it's simply evolutionary. It'll do the same things Vista and XP does, except it does them a bit better, in many cases it'll even do them faster if you have a modern machine (As opposed...
...who cares? Forza is an old game, by the time GT5 actually comes out there'll probably be a sequel in line. Plus, as someone already pointed out, the guy writing the article is basing it off of youtube videos, that immediately means anything he's saying is nothing more than opinion and conjecture.
Besides, there's more to a good racing game than good physics, it just helps.
Dude if you hate the 360 so much, why do you claim to own one? That doesn't prove that your opinion on the console is more justified, it just shows that either you're full of crap, lying, or an imbecile for buying something you don't even want.
It's not helped that you're acutally WORRIED about people finding out your gamertag. It's the 360! You don't even like it! What's the worst that could happen, they'd catch you playing Halo at night with your pants down?
Seriously, you can a...
So Microsoft releases an application that, most people will agree, does something useful and is a worthwhile effort. But instead, the article tries to have a go at them anyway:
"However, it seems quite pointless to release it now with Windows 7 coming next year. Maybe they should begin developing technology for Windows 7 instead of the soon-to-be-obsolete Vista."
And then goes into a non-releated rant anyway.
Contrary to some beliefs, I'm not a major ...
Woah, calm down there, tiger, I wasn't defending Microsoft, I was simply pointing out that they're not the only ones with restrictions in place, plus the example I gave was exactly that - an example, it was in no way meant to compare with the memory restriction Microsoft has.
And once again Europe gets shafted!
SCEE are useless, but you know what I'm not happy with Live's European offerings, either. Our marketplace pales in comparison to the US marketplace, so Sony aren't the only ones neglecting us.
All 3 of the companies have all sorts of restrictions in place for the content you can put online, or even just content you put on their system. You have this massive handout with literally hundreds of points that MUST be adhered to, from the simple to the weird (for example, Sony does NOT let you clear the screen to any colour other than black before drawing your stuff - note, I don't mean "if you have a blank screen, it must be black", I am referring to the part of the rendering p...
I think it's important to keep in mind that the NXE was more than just a facelift, it apparently makes it a lot easier for Microsoft to release smaller updates through the year. The Photo sharing app thing is an example of this, so is Netflix.
If you don't have Netflix, you don't see the icon for it on the screen, but when you install it, it appears, like a new program shortcut.
It would have been hard to do that with the blades, they were already pretty cluttered as it w...
Home and the NXE are COMPLETELY different things, that's like comparing a TV to a car, it doesn't make sense, they've got completely different purposes and objectives.
The "photo party" app they released along side the NXE is closer to Home than the NXE itself is, but it's still vastly different.
Basically, if you even try to compare the two on a functionality level, you fail.
That's not really fair, Opera made the browser, not Nintendo, so yeah although Nintendo will profit from it, Opera gets most of the money and they DO need it since it's their top software.
Hey genius, where the hell did I say that MKV was a CODEC?
I specifically stated that it was a container format - and a good one at that.
Obviously you don't know this, but DivX 7 adds official support for MKVs - in other words, if a player is "DivX 7 certified", it'll read MKVs.

Fernando, I wasn't questioning how much software as a whole the Wii sells, rather I was questioning the genres of software that the Wii sells. Things like Mario and Wii Fit are the console's masterpieces and they're not exactly "mature" games.
We'll see what happens, though, as I said I'm sure it'll make a nice profit, I'm just not convinced it'll profit better on the Wii than another console.
EDIT: Hmm, must have pressed the wrong button. Whoops!
Considering a LOT of Wii owners aren't "hardcore" gamers, I can't see Madworld selling all that well. I'm sure it'll profit, but I don't think it'd be a runaway success or anything. Really, this game deserves to be on the PS3 and 360, where there's easily a bigger audience that will appreciate it, but then again it could be like most Sega games these days - all style and no substance, which would certainly explain why they're sticking to the Wii.
Considering I don't think there's been a decent TR game for about a decade now, I'd have to agree. Although Anniversary wasn't too bad, but that was just the original with better graphics.
If Eidos hadn't drove the franchise into the ground, maybe it wouldn't be the case, but Uncharted is definitely the "new" Tomb Raider.
I think it IS h.264, isn't it? It's just their own way of encoding it, which means it could be bigger, smaller, the same size, or all of the above (Depending on how you configure it).
The really good thing about it is the MKV support, MKVs are a great container format and it'll be good to see them become more common.
Yeah but wasn't the PS3 the lead platform for this game as well? Their engine definitely needs more work on the PS3 front, but for one reason or another, they've decided not to.
And when you design a game for ONE specific platform, it will always be better than a multi-platform title. That doesn't mean it wouldn't be possible to make the same game on another platform that's just as good, it just means you can focus on that one platform.
You can bin off the rest of the article, here's the key point from it:
"When a game chooses to publish their game to the PS3, they must create their own online servers for the game. Unlike Microsoft, where the company provides general servers for all games to play on."
This is what you pay for with your live subscription, those Microsoft servers that support the game. It's possible for developers to supply their own dedicated servers as well (Such as in Fro...
