In this economy, all bets are off when it comes to console exclusivity so I really would not be surprised if Mass Effect made its way to the PS3. My only concern is that the first game was a technical mess on the 360 - the "easy" console to program for. IT was a great game, but it had plenty of technical issues holding it back, the texture popup being one of the most obvious. Now as I said, the 360 is supposedly "easy" to program for, so how on earth do Bioware expect to p...
Expect another unholy flame war in 5...4...3...
I don't really see the problem with this for certain things. Ok, you're not going to want to keep your home-made naughty flicks on the service, but the example in the article is a good one - you can easily work on something from work, home, an internet cafe or wherever without having to keep carrying it around (on a Laptop or USB stick) or emailing it to yourself. Who or what exactly is going to care about a few spreadsheets or word docs or whatever? Plus don't forget, you have the added bonu...
You don't know the meaning of the term "vapour-ware". Just because this kind of service wouldn't be useful to YOU becuase your internet plan sucks, it does not mean that it's not a worthwhile service for others.
Vapour-ware is when a product gets a lot of hype, but nothing ever comes from it, see "Phantom Console" for a great example of this.
Why do people get so riled up about stuff like this? For every person that says the PS3 is going to lose to the 360, there's someone that says otherwise. At the end of the day, neither console has "lost", both are successful and both will be here until the end of this generation. What do you think is going to happen, the PS3 is going to finally sell ONE more console than the 360 (total) and suddenly Microsoft's going to say "Ok, you win, we'll just pack our bags and leave, then...
The problem is, that's not what the article is claiming.
The article is saying they deliberately made it hard to developer for, not that they deliberately picked a chip that HAPPENED to be hard to develop for.
It's complete and utter rubbish as well, it doesn't make your games better in the long run, it just makes them crappier to begin with.
Also, this isn't the PS2 generation where there was practically ONE console and ONLY one console, the PS3 has some stiff competition ...
What...the...fu...
They never said port, they said basis. Just because it was on PS2 doesn't mean that some gameplay aspects weren't good or anything.
They also released The Force Unleashed.
Fracture was rubbish, but back in the day Lucasarts were famous for great games that had nothing to do with Star Wars, so rather than blaming them for not just doing the "sure hit" thing (like they have been for ohhhh, I don't know, the last 15 years?), give them credit for not just milking the Star Wars universe.
Hopefully, fracture wont put them off and they'll actually make a decent game next time. One that isn't star wars.
Syndicate. Still ahead of it's time, even today.
I'd love to see what would essentially be a squad-based sandbox game where you could "persuade" an army of civilians to blow up entire buildings and wage all out war, all the while you perform a drive-by using a couple of miniguns and a rocket launcher.
Oh wait, they already did that with syndicate, now all they need to do is make it on today's systems.

It's always slow at this time of year, the two big "bumps" are around easter (March/April/May) and September-December (for the Christmas rush).
A lot of things aren't on the EU PSN. F*cking disgrace, really.
Errr no that doesn't make it an emulator, no more than the PS3 "emulates" a PS2, this software just tricks the Ps3 into reading from a HDD instead of an optical drive.
The new firmware likely wont fix this. The 2.60 firmware will have been completed weeks ago, long before this was announced because they have to do lots of testing and such. If it IS possible to fix this (As I believe it's exploiting the PS2 stuff), expect it to be fixed with a 2.61 update.
It's not a PS2 emulator, the title is just misleading. All this does is let you boot a PS2 game from a HDD IF you have a PS3 capable of playing PS2 games in the first place.
Every other year? Vista was released in 2006, 7 will be later this year, that's 3 years. Vista came out 5-6 years after XP. What are you even complaining about?
Apple puts out a "new" OSX every 18months or something and some linux distributions are released every 6 months, it's absolutely unrealistic for you to think that anyone could release a PERFECT Operating System. In this industry, things are outdated before they even get out the door, just deal with it.
The matchmaking servers are what Microsoft hosts, those are the "general servers" they're referring to, Sony doesn't have a central matchmaking service that I'm aware of, that's what the developers/publishers have to provide. That's why some PS3 games can match you with a good game really quickly, but some do not.
There's nothing stopping the PSN from being able to do that, but for Sony to host enough servers for it to be fast and reliable enough, it'd cost a fair bit o...
It keeps some of us happier, yeah, but it seems to stress out others!
You've found the Anti-aliasing settings for your TV, not many HDTVs will have such settings and it'll work just as well on a 360 or even a Wii (assuming the setting can be applied to non-HDMI inputs).
