"So it's easy math. 10% versus 30%. "
Easy because they're arbitrary values pulled out of thin air. Oh and you can mute people on Live, you know, so the "20% you wish you couldn't hear" you don't actually have to hear...
EDIT: Allow me to clear this up a bit before you get the wrong idea. You're right that right now, a lot of people on Live are in a private chat (a party), but that's purely because people tend to play online to play with friends ...
"...... <_< Ps3's mic solution is better than 360, I can pretty much any headset with it, and there's like a $5 converter you can buy so that you can use any headset you currently use on your Pc."
Uhhh, unlike just about everything else on the 360, it's headset is NOT some sort of proprietary device, it's a standard 2.5mm jack, the kind you used to see on Mobile phones before 3.5mm jacks became more common. You can get a "$5 converter" to convert any sta...
Yeah, I have to give Sony credit for a lot of the PSN games that are real games and not just short-fire "Arcade" games. I love XBLA, but I wish there were more substantial games on it, a few RPGs and such.
Technically, neither did you or anyone else that's complained about it being underrated by the likes of Edge.
Not trolling, just sayin'...
An opinion that people shouldn't take to heart but probably will? Yup.
I wouldn't necessarily say that developers need to LEARN those things, they're just part of the mechanic of Killzone 2 that makes the game what it is. I mean, KZ2 is getting compared to Halo 3 all over the place, but really they're very different games. Halo is designed to be simple, arcade-like, something you can pick up and play for 20mins, then throw down again for a week or a month without a problem.
KZ2, on the other hand, has clearly got much more depth to it, as well as a heavy d...
I think online play in general has helped boost game sales. Most of my friends have a 360, that's why I buy most of my games on the 360, but if it was the other way around, I'd buy them on the PS3. I guess it's a herd mentality, but I definitely prefer online play with friends than strangers.
Live, PSN, doesn't really matter what service it is or which is better, you play where your friends are.
I know a lot of people pirate on the 360, but I don't think the number is as high as so many people seen to believe.
Take the torrents of 360 games that appear, for example. They're never anywhere near as popular as most other things, even HD releases of films (Which typically get less than 1/10th of the attention of the DVD release, online at least). You get a few thousand people and that's about it. Sure, a few of those will sell the games on and such, but due to the threat of being b...
This article goes around in circles and contradicts itself all over the shop.
Here's a few examples:
It begins by saying "Microsoft’s install base from last generation revolved around Halo, and Halo only" and uses this as a reason as to why Halo 3 sold so well. It then says "Sony’s PlayStation 2 had a larger install base and that install base was chopped up into different fans of many different games"
In other words, it's saying the PS3 fanb...
There's a Call of Duty Game every year, but they're made by two different Developers, so each game actually takes 2 years to make.
COD2 - 2005 (Infinity Ward)
COD3 - 2006 (Treyarch)
COD4: MW - 2007 (Infinity Ward)
COD: WaW - 2008 (Treyarch)
COD: MW2 - 2009 (Infinity Ward)
Activision is the reason why this is - they want one every single year, but IW (The creators of the original COD) told them to go to hell - it takes 2 years to make a decent ...
I don't know where the whole dedicated server thing came from, but it's time this rumour ended NOW.
Xbox Live CAN have dedicated servers.
PSN CAN have P2P play.
They're both the same in this regard, the difference is that the 360 SDK comes with lots of tools and utilities to implement the P2P play easily, integrating directly into the matchmaking servers of Live, which is why many games prefer to use them - it saves developers money since they don't have to sup...
A very serious question here - is the video genuine? Is it serious? I mean, I watched about the firs 45 seconds and...I'm finding it hard to believe it's not some sort of weird Viral or something 0_o
It seems so...amaturish and weird.
I disagree, I think this generation of gaming is missing a few quality performers that a good Sonic game would easily fill. All we want is Sonic back to his 2D roots, but with 3D graphics (Think SFIV).
I think Sega are the ones not suited to this generation.
Taking things wildly out of context seems to be a theme this month.
That's not true! I have great taste in games and I played Sonic Unleashed!
...for about 5mins...
...to see how bad it really was....
...it was pretty bad.
Ok then, I'll bite. How long has the 360 had achievements? Since Launch.
How long has the PS3 had trophies? Since July of last year.
How many of the games did I list that I own actually have Trophy support? I think LBP is the only one, the point is I've not went back to play the others much since I already finished them, so hell if I know if they have trophy support added later or not.
I also forgot that I owned Wipeout HD, thanks for reminding me (Long time Wipeout fan here...
thebudgetgamer: TO the left of the PS3 is the Band of Brother's Blu-ray box set, Under the PS3 is a SONY sound system for my 5.1 and to the right are a couple of games (Little big planet obviously and under that is Halo 3). I think that disk you see on the right is the first disk to the Matrix (DVD only, I'm afraid).
And underneith is the mass of cables that connects that stuff together with my 360, PC, printer and God knows what else.
EDIT: At Aaron below:
I'm...
"Thank you for being such a loyal customer, and thank you for pretending that you have a PlayStation 3 so you can make yourself look like a gamer. You and I both know by the way you spend those MS points, there's no possible way you could afford a ps3, and even if you could, your emotional well-being depends on your Live activity and the belief that your system is the best. We all know that if this "yet ANOTHER FPS" was on the 360 your eyes would be red-ringing until the 27th.&...
@thebudgetgamer
Thanks - I'm trying to be as diplomatic as possible there (I wouldn't say "Killzone 2 sucks" because a) I'm more tactful than that and b) I don't think it sucks at all, it just didn't WOW me as much as it did others), I'm glad someone appreciates it lol
PorcelainGod, that is one of the most uninformed things I've ever heard anyone say on this site - and that's saying something.
You actually don't even know what you're talking about and clearly don't understand what the EDRAM is actually for.
It's not and never was designed to store the entire rendered scene, that's not it's purpose, it's purpose is to be VERY fast at manipulating the data inside it. Think of it as cache for the GPU - you don't complain when your processor only ha...
