how about a review review site, where all reviews are reviewed by other reviewers and given aggregate scores, sub categories could be like informative, biased, verbose, well written, etc
something along the lines of a metacritic critic site
1. 5-10 years sounds just about right (so 2-3 years into the life cycles of the next consoles and on). It's not likely to be a major player much sooner than that, but were talking about the "future of games". They said the same about digital downloads and look at the growth in that space.
Plus, the internet speeds for mobile devices is sure to increase, allowing a level of fidelity similar to current gen gaming (5g phones and tablets should do the trick)
Although it's obvious that the next machines will offer both physical and streaming models, the streaming game model is a significantly better one than the one we have now. It just solves so many of the biggest problems for software developers, that it's inevitable it will eventually fully replace what we have.
Here's a quick list of some obvious advantages over physical media-

yeh, link please, if so WOW
Also has a lot to do w how good the dev tools, one might offer more streamlined tools for faster dev, etc, and also built to take advantage of specific architectures, etc
Yeah the sqaure demo appears to have much denser geometry and overall detail, plus the lighting appears more natural, the physics more dynamic, etc
That said, def need to see more and/or actual games running. Alot of it could just be artistic dif. Either way cant wait to play games running on both!
Yeh the "turn taking" dialog in the game is very unnatural. Real people interrupt and/or talk over each other a bit.
Translation to gamer "I really really want you guys to by my game on WiiU! If I keep saying good stuff about the system will you guys by it?...please...."
Hard to feel emotional about the loss of a guys son when you want to kill the little bastard yourself (I was happy when Jason died, if only to not hear his forced unnatural voice ever again). By the way loved the game despite the acting/dialog (most of which was clearly lost in translation).
You need really good, and dare I say native speaking, actors and writers for the types of games he's making. Plus, some big Hollywood talent with their names/faces on the box would ra...
While I love Nintendos exclusives, they will not bring in the smart phone casuals im afraid. Theyll bring in the nintendo fan, people buying for safe family friendly gift, kids, etc.
Again it comes down to price. The casual crowd that made made wii the success it was appear to have moved over to the much cheaper phone/browser games.
How can nintendo possibly compete against free/cheap app type games on the phones people already have?
I actually found the article insiteful. The WiiU does appear to be designed to combat apple by capitalizing on the casual social gaming trend. The hardware/tablet configuaration really does point in this direction.
That said, Nintendo will have to overcome a larger issue if they want to compete in this space. The problem with the WiiU compared to the devices that play casual angry bird like games is the initial cost.
Apple and it's app store run on h...
Gears, now with 100% more Chainsaw Boot kicking action, lol
For me this is the reason 360 stays relevant. I just love these types of games. When the industry jumped from 2d to 3d I couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if they kept down the 2d path but with better graphics. Now with this gen we get new kick as beautiful retro styled games all the time and I love it. Some Favs- Braid, Limbo, Bastian, super meat boy, Laura Croft, Dead Nation, pixel junk shooter 1 and 2,Shadow Complex, Shadow Planet, Fez, contra hard corps, closure, ...
Sadly the worse they do at E3 in the eyes of core gamers the better they'll do at market.
Microsoft has been shifting to the Nintendo model for some time now and will continue down this path as long as the market rewards them for doing so.
They have their built in core gamers who will buy for Halo, Gears, and COD with timed exclusive DLC, they have live (which is still the most popular place to play online games), they have strong 3rd party support from e...
His daughter plays ps3
Not to be outdone, the turn 10 crew has just posted a similar victory on their web page. They apparently won two gold medals at the Redmond tri-county bumper car and go cart competitions held at the local green-acres minigolf course....
Strider
Rastan
Magician lord
Soul reaver
Onimusha
Rygar
Maximo or ghouls n ghosts
Flashback
Blackthorn
Jet force gemini
Hopefully it leads both of them to release their games on PSN :-)
$400-450 with a free cross play game (all stars) and/or some remote playable psn content would be a worthwhile addition.
They likely need to wait another year for this to be viable. If next year the stand alone ps3 and vita are at $200 each they could do a $350 bundle with free game or two and psn content.
