I have a feeling the Sandwich lady and the Sneaky Vent lady traded scripts just for that presentation.

Also those sandwiches are so expensive because they are somehow non-perishable.

When you play it this way each time you die you still get to see the random flash backs and they change as you go along. You still get to go to the house but I'm sure there is a small amount of story I missed.

Honestly, I'd rather play it this way than not play it at all. And playing this way you still go to the house multiple times and it 'unlocks' itself based on her memory the same way as normal I think.

It's pretty simple you use the cloud safe function. Play a few rooms successfully then save your game to the cloud. If you die or lose a lot of health go reload your cloud save. Rinse and repeat.

It's a little annoying but you get used to it and that game is so amazing it's worth it. Also note you need to be careful not to accidentally overwrite your good game or you could end up starting all the way from the beginning.

Despite the level sta...

I loved Returnal. It's just an amazing game!

That said, I did not play it the way the devs intended and have no shame about playing it the way I wanted to instead. If you are like me and turned off by super difficult games and the random shuffling level nonsense of rogue-lites then I here to tell you there is another way. Using cloud saves and save scumming turns Returnal into a fixed layout kick ass Metroid like experience and I loved every minute of playing it this wa...

Writing's on the wall. Not saying x-box will leave the hardware business, that would be stupid, but wouldn't be surprised to see them shift even further from expensive boxes restricting their service based platform approach in the future.

I'd imagine over the next few years the x-box brand and game pass move even more toward cheap streaming box type devices (which they will all but give away to subscribers they same way you get your cable box), along with stream...

Sony seem to be treating VR as a way to further enhance/solidify the PlayStation Brand as High End/Premium, with exclusive experiences not found on it's competitor's platform (something a portable would not do). It also has the benefit of driving mind share for their platform during the middle of the console life cycle and allows them to position themselves well in the VR space should it take off.

It definitely isn't about volume of sales, because if that were t...

When the majority of the 3rd party exclusives go to Sony, that should tell you about the financial viability of the X-box platform from many developer/publisher's perspective.

Sony has invested in making it's brand/platform something with broad global market appeal with a focus on selling games in the traditional method (upfront sales vs. part of a service). As a result Sony has a larger install base and is often a better place for 3rd parties to sell their games. ...

When this first came out I was pretty down on it. The roguelike design and lack of progression between runs had me licking my wounds and I gave up and turned it in at Gamestop. I'm not particularly good at this type of game and really hate rogue-like randomization bullshit (even well-executed versions).

Thankfully Housemarque added the suspend cycle feature and, combined with the power of the cloud, I picked Returnal back up and was able to savescum my way through a mor...

The real question should be- Will the change from $60 games to $70 games result in a proportional decrease in the number of people who buy your game?

The dollar increase for 60 to 70 is 16.67%. If they see a 16.67% drop in people buying the games then the answer should be to return the price back down. If that number is less than 16.67%, and for example they only see a very small drop in sales, the price increase is justified.

My guess is the answer to th...

Patcher is off on this one.

Both will sell out at launch and through the end of this year with any differences in total sales down to what they can can manufacture. Any numbers they give early on mean nothing other than total manufacturing capacity.

Once both companies go through the early manufacturing/shortage phase I'd expect PS to pull ahead by a similar or even greater margin as this gen; between 2 to 1 and 3 to 1.

The momentum...

How is it, after all this time, that X-box still has such unlikable Marketing people as the face of their brand? You have a multi billion dollar platform and have somehow decided to put a bunch of blatantly disingenuous car salesman types out in front of the public. Why? I just don't get it! How hard is it to find someone just a little bit likable.

1959d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

No way to know based on xbox sales. They will all sell out first half year being new console so those early numbers will tell nothing, and more than likely they wont even give numbers.

Calling it now; this will be a gamepass box, and they will 'give' it away for 'free' with a paid 3 year subscription. Of course you will be able to buy it, but you won't need to, and all marketing will be focused around getting it free with gamepass.

Microsoft will more than make up for the $300 or so cost of hardware in service fees and all the purchases made within their digital ecosystem.
