when this game's sales tank, as they should, wouldn't be surprised to see some type of legal action against them from sega.

The dev station pics really makes me think they're shooting for the sky. The move light bar on the controller and two cameras (clearly visible on the dev kit) could be used for this.

Only the view would change when you move the controller (verses glasses like in the video).

Based on it's inclusion out of the box we could see these type...

That's exactly what I'm imagining. Here's a video of it. Based on the dev kit and controller we could see this possible in every game as default with no sacrifice to traditional control methods.

How is it people are not more excited for this! It significantly enhances your immersion in the game world and offers a very cool 3d effect with no need fo...

the move light on the top of the controller along with the 2 cameras on the dev system could be used create a 3d effect by moving the controller. imagine an additional in game camera the changes the perspective when you move the controller a little bit, like you're looking into window.

@ Autodidactdystopia

Agreed, Everyone's so focused on the controller but the dev kit is the real interesting part to me. If that is a dev kit then I see two cameras on that bad boy, which along with the sensor light on the controller, indicate a more sophisticated move like functionality built in out of the box!

A system like this offers a significantly better ability to triangulate on objects in 3d space than the original move (maybe even better/more pr...

One potential of those 2 cameras is this (see link above) but based on very advanced head tracking without the need for glasses. Add 3d glasses (this virtual window with traditional 3d) for "holographic effect" and ability to track move type controller 1 to 1 :-)

From a purely graphics perspective, I actually think the Wii U games do look better than the 360's and ps3's in some respects. There's just something about the lighting, the quality of the colors, and some of the texture effects that look really really good. Especially considering we are in the very earliest stage of Wii U game development.

If I were going to make an analogy it would be like an n64 vs ps1. The difference so far appears to be overall geometry vers...

Based on the def. my guess is a new all seeing playstation eye for ps4.

As much as I'm really excited for agnis philosophy/samaritan/unreal 4 level graphics (is it unrealistic that I kind of expect it from both ps4 and the nextbox?), I'm really hoping for something that's unexpected.

Some kind of input/display/functionality that really surprises people and disrupts the market. Haptic feedback, biometrics, hot/cold controllers, works on 4 tvs in your house at the same time, streams all ps4 games real time to vita for remote play, plan ...

"Everyone at (inset crap developer's name) are making a game that looks just like (insert popular game title and similar character art or cover) but it's not the same as (mention popular game again), in fact it's very different than (say name of good game again). In fact, even though we were inspired by (say name of good game again)it's more like (say name of other amazing game)" lol

Maybe they could be more obvious. Trying to use the comparison to m...

The game may end up good fun but I hate the art style and color palette. It looks so generic it's hard to believe this is an insomniac product!!!

That's alot of what rare did back in the day. Under Nintendo they created high quality reimaginings of nintendo staples. Diddy racing is basically Mario Kart. Banjo n kazooii is basically a reimagined, and dare i say better, mario 64. Star Fox Adventures was the only 1 that turned out worse than what it emulated, its got nothing on zelda.

they had some original stuff like jet force and conkers, but most of the 64-early cube games were a way for Nintendo to make sequels- ...

@ goodno, I totally disagree, I personally can't think of any better writers aside from the guys over at valve and maybe BioWare, she is easily 1 of the world's best game writers. also I don't think the dialogue or story in uncharted 3 was lacking, but the balance between gameplay and cinema was not quite as well paced. even still the characters and story are leaps and bounds above 99 percent of most gaming garbage.

I see the disagrees but no comments. I take that as I'm right but you don't like it?

I personally think the PSV is a beautiful piece of hardware and the games are actually really really good this early in it's life cycle.

But who is the target audience? People who play on the go are Kids (the majority of whose parents clearly prefer Nintendo or free/cheap- ie old phones), preteens/teens (who clearly prefer phones), and Sony fans or more hardcore g...

it's because the thing doesn't have a market, casuals are playing their phones because they already have them and don't have to buy piece of hardware, kids are playing on their parents old phones or DS because nintendo makes a product just for them. where is the market for a high end portable?

I'm a total sucker for colorful platformers and this one looks wonderful :-)

By the way, @badz149- Sony isn't the only company supporting these types of games. Off the top of my head Nintendo makes Mario, Kirby, DKC, and Metroid Other M (hybrid 2d/3d).

And even though X-box doesn't directly create these types of games they have created a market place rich with them. Both x-box and psn have a wonderful selection of indy action/adventure platformer...

all the negative sony stuff is just slander. sure Sony has its problems but so do Nintendo and Microsoft. the emergence of Smart TVs, browser based gaming and streaming services, smart phones and tablets, humongous new competitors like Apple, google, facebook, developer owned streaming services, and most recently the cable companies. the old model of consul manufacturing days are numbered. all of the consul manufacturers know this and are moving to protect their bottom lines. of course there ...

Best case- people play boarderlands 2, enjoy it, and then the similarities on the boxes lead them to buy resistance 3, or funnier yet- the illiterate will mistake resistance 3 for boarderlands 2 and insomniac actually sells a few copies, lol
