HBM solves the DDR3 memory issues. eSRAM solves the latency issues. Having both would actually be best. I am still not sure how you can say PS4+ would win based on what? Why would the XB has less GPU or resources available?

Both Sony and MS are waiting for the die shrink before releasing slim versions. The smaller physical size is compensated by cooler APU.

The better question is why not when it's optional?

1. It's optional (has no impact to you if not used).
2. It's faster to add more storage (~1 min on XB1).
3. It's cheaper price-wise and a lot of options.
4. It's been shown on the XB1 external is faster.
5. SATA II (3 gbps) vs. USB 3.0 (5 gbps). Which is faster?
6. Less storage access contention (system vs. game).
7. You get to use your internal storage too. ...

So much for the moto: This is far the players.

So much for the players huh? It's more like: This is for Sony's bank.

Sony owes you dedicated servers for UC4 MP. Lol took all the PS+ money but can't even get dedicated servers for their exclusive flagship game.

Which is great. The problem isn't about offering it for $15, but it's the fact that people who legitimately already own it MUST buy it again. No one here's saying that Sony can't offer these games for sales. What people have issues with is that they MUST buy again EVEN for games that were purchased on the PS3? Why are they not transferrable? It's laughable how people can defend this milking.

You should also check how much they cost if you already own it. It's about offering a BC solution that allow gamers who already own the games play for free. People who don't own the games can spend the $15. Right now, that's the only option.

3714d ago 6 agree1 disagreeView comment

Of course it's not BC compatibility, which implies that the games are free for those you already owned it.

Why make PS3 BC when you charge money with PS Now?
Why make PS2 BC when you charge money for PS2 Discs and PS2 Classics?
Why allow EA Access when it competes with PS Now?

What Sony really mean is: We can't make money if it's BC. Everything that Sony does so far is to increase their PS Now and PS+ subscriptions, and yet they co...

The enhancement is done by the emulator. The only thing they really have to add is Trophies support. MS spent a lot of engineering time to create X360 BC and fine tuning the emulating software to EACH game, so it's a shame that Sony can't do that for free for those who already owned the games.

Sony's motto is "For the Players".

No PS3 BC
No PS2 BC

But wait, you can pay us money for PS3 PSNow games.
But wait, you can pay us money again for the PS2 emulated games.
But wait, EA Access wasn't a good value for our gamers.
But wait, the PS+ money that you paid us, nah, UC4 MP will not be dedicated.

So how do feel about the even more corridor The Order 1886 running at 1920*800 (black bars) at 30 fps for cinematic reasons?

3717d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Since when did they say these things? A lot of the stuffs you mentioned were still early days when the technology weren't available or too expensive. Didn't tell people to work more to own the PS3? Didn't they have to remove BC hardware because it was too expensive?

The only thing that they have been dismissive is VR, but that doesn't meanthat they are doing R&D.

MS backed HD DVD instead of BluRay because blue ray was very expensive at tha...

You'll also know the XB runs very quiet regardless of how demanding the load is unlike the PS4 sounding like a jet engine. You know the trade-off between quiet vs. jet engine is where the heat is exhausted. FYI: External PS makes it easy to replace the PS rather than the whole unit.

Didn't Sony just copied MS on delivering beta updates to the OS?

3723d ago 4 agree9 disagreeView comment

As opposed to nondescript "stability and performance" updates?

Not a great idea to overclock something that's already a jet engine, unless you want melted plastic?

People said Cloud Compute is a joke.
People said BC of X360 (PowerPC) is a joke.
People said 7th CPU core is a joke.
============================= ===============
All of these jokes were first on Xbox One. Watch as 2016 brings truly next-gen games only on the Xbox One. Watch as Sony's 1080p/60 mantra becomes its achilles' heel (preview: UC4 MP). Keep watching because greatness awaits.

LOL and UC4 was shown running 1080p/60 with stunning CGI-level and not a single frame drop. We all know where that went.

DX12 is not even used.

Sony cheaped out and didn't offer 5 GHz wifi but MS does. Not only that, the system has 8 GB of NAND built-in. Now it's used mostly for system stuffs for now, but I can imagine it'll be used for gaming purposes soon where streaming from the hard drive isn't fast enough.

Sorry renting servers can be expensive. MS has vertical integration so they can offer it at much reduced costs.
