There's no recompile because MS doesn't own the source codes nor do they have the source code. When you submit an app to the Apple App Store, you submit the compiled binaries not the source codea. Same thing with games.
Even if MS has the source code and could recompile to the XB1 API, then there's no freaking use and a waste of time to emulate the entire X360 OS in the first place.
1080p 30 for SP
1080p 60 for MP
What more do you recommend for MP? The co-op will drop the 60 to 30.
It's a selectable limit meaning gamers who have optimal network gears can use it. I just don't see why the XB1 can do it but not the PS4. I think it's probably a software thing. MS didn't enable 1080p until a few software updates.
N4G in summary:
MS no change = always the greedy MS.
MS changes to be open = can't trust them MS.
The same DRM exist today. 24 hours check in is not always on line. Used physical games could be sold through a broker so that the digital license could be revoked. Your argument would be stronger if you just stated facts.
The benchmark is done WITHOUT using ExecuteIndirect as implied by "Future Work". Here's what ExecuteIndirect can do in DX12 although this massive gain is unlikely in an actual game, but it reduces the CPU bottleneck significantly.

Their technical analysis is subpar. They basically don't know what the resolution. What they know is that lighting is done at 720p as exactly told by Remedy. They basically are guessing the final image is 720p based on its softness but the very good AA and post-processing erases the evidence for them to determine the native resolution. All they have to do is show the aliasing edges on a few frames, but the pictures they showed was impossible to determine.
Heck, The Order ...
I read the EG article and still got confused as to the final resolution of the game. As many people here still think it's 720p when the game is actually outputting 1080p native. This was very clear in the NX article. The effects are 720p because the lighting, visual effects, and destruction in this game is very, very good compared to what I heave seen with existing games.
Remedy talked about the lighting system used. They're rendered in 720p but the final image is native 1080p. It's standard practice to render these lighting/shadows at less than native 1080p.

What I find confusing is that EG seems to say the final image is 1080p but these items are rendered at 720p. This is normal practi...
Well it's running at 60 fps so there's that, and it's still Motorsport 6. Maybe wait for Motorsport 7 for dynamic GI?
What if alien blood looks like strawberry jam? Ever thought of that?
In DX12, multiGPU must be programmed by the developers. It's no longer more automatically like SLI or Crossfire. In fact, the mGPU in DX12 allows you to remove the external GPU bridges since the communication is done via the PCIEx bus. This allows for much better mGPU performance without frame pacing issues, and it allows dissimilar GPUs to run mGPU. DX12 mGPU support is very powerful but it also requires explicit support and programming. The lack of mGPU has nothing to do with the Window...
HoloLens is AR not VR. MS is building digital info on top of the real world, real environment in a 3D space that matches the viewer perspective. If anything, this device is FAR more sophisticated than VR. It's self-contained for one.
It came of as Valve was incompetent.
What if I tell you better exclusives is subjective for each person?
It's possible although you may be thermally limited on a laptop that has this combination.
How much is the PC you think to get 4K@60?
Sony showed during E3 2014 UC4 SP running in real-time at 1080p native and 60 fps.
http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
Of course they couldn't achieve that in real life, so they later said "targeting" but not during E3 presentation.

@SCW1982 "Sorry dude they never actually showed 60 fps single player so your lying."

UPDATE 11/06/14 19:07:This report from GamingBolt.com suggests that the Uncharted 4 trailer is indeed running in real-time - a simply phenomenal achievement. We've studied the video in a little more depth ...
Lol just stop. It makes you look ignorant.

The approach that we've taken is to actually emulate the full Xbox 360 hardware layer. So the [operating system] for the 360 is actually running when you run the game, [...] If you watch the game's boot you'll see the Xbox 360 boot animation come up. Fr...
