Forza 5: launch game, bad SDK, still 1080p and locked 60 while still decent visual. It's a joke to compare a launch game and say it doesn't have this that on games that are released 18-20 months LATER.

And all this time I thought higher fps is better to prevent nausea and motion sickness. I mean that's why VR targets a minimum of 90 fps to avoid motion sickness unless a screen at 6 inches from your face is different than 6 feet. The only time where 60 fps is not good, at least for me anyway, is watching movies. The 60 fps in movies for some reason create a "soap opera effect" and it's annoying.

Where are you getting these fps numbers from? And when you say 50% increase = 5 fps increase, what's the 50% increase of what?

There's another way of doing that in the actual content of the article. It's totally done intentionally to yield reactions from both sides. And it works. A proper title would be something like Witcher 3 leak gameplay on Xbox One. The link doesn't have this 720p title and it immediately explains inside the content as a DVR recording.

There's a difference between 1080p 60fps locked and variable frame rate of up to 60 fps. Most people to just quote 60 fps even it variables like a son of a gun. I think you are thinking of 60 fps locked?

It's actually the total opposite. MS has been intentionally underhyping all the DX12 stuffs. The performance gains MS have been quoting is up to 20-40% more while benchmarks show excess of 100-600% gains. It's Brad Wardell who has been hyping DX12. He even questioned why MS told developers to underhype and why MS hasn't mentioned anything about the new eSRAM APIs. MS isn't going to talk until they have something to show.

Absolutely. It's not a good fit for all people, which is why MS & EA offers it as an optional service.

LOL people still don't believe the built-in Xbox Live Compute (i.e. Cloud) can enhance the capabilities of the Xbox One. People laughed at it. They said the Cloud can improve AI, physics, and other non-latency sensitive items to the Cloud, and peopled laughed at it. Yet, it's possible to stream an entire game: graphics, audio, inputs, everything and those same people are all oooh-ahhh. So I am not surprised if MS is closed lip until DX12 is available for XB1.

DC looks better but that's the tradeoffs that DC made compared to PC and even the Forza series.

DC 30 fps
PC 60 fps
FM5 60 fps
FHZ2 30 fps open-world

DC looks graphically impressive but that's because its goal was graphics by reducing fps. Better graphics or higher fps? Pick one and design the game to that.

And yet not a peep from you when MS was not even allowed to advertise Destiny or get the beta at the same time as PS4. Hmm was Sony "low" then?

Phil is smart enough to not over-promise anything until it's ready.

It's better to watch the presentation on Fable for DX11 vs DX12 starts at 49:40 minutes. http://channel9.msdn.com/Ev...

When Fable is ported to DX12 from DX11, they were able to achieve the same frame-rate while going from 900p to 1080p. That's a pretty good improvement for using DX12 and a few new features. Remember that's porting to DX12 not ...

The fact that you got the maths wrong tell me you are maybe five. Or the fact that you also get 10% discount if you choose to buy the game for say $60.

As if they put a gun to your head to buy it. Second, Sony declined to accept EA Access saying that's not good values for gamers. Yet, they have no problem offering THEIR OWN service PS Now. Hm... seems like a bit of conflict of interest. I thought PS4 is for gamers? You know, offering a choice? Didn't MS got ridiculed for not offering a choice on the Kinect?

Does that mean the PS4 was really lagging since it had the screenshot function many months ago?

You know that monitors can take a non-native signal and upscale it to native resolutions? It's kinda like watching 1080p videos on a 4K television. The TV takes the 1080p signal and upscales to 4K. More expensive TV can do this exceptionally well. Ready at Dawn told everyone it's 1920x800 rendered at 21:9 ratio for cinematic atmosphere so that you get black bars when played on non-21:9 ratio monitors.

If the game is in fact downscaling, then you would bet your ass Rea...

OpenGL did a pretty good job of killing itself. Is it strange that AMD has Mantel, MS has DirectX 12, and Apple has Metal. All major companies moved away from OpenGL.

The Morpheus requires a computer or a console. The HoloLens is self-contained that does not require any pc or console.

It's pretty obvious that this AR device is not just for gaming. It's aimed at future interactions combining the digital metaphors with the physical world. It's why the device is shown people helping people. The use cases for this device is, IMO, much, much more than VR just for gamming. It's self-contained that doesn't require any PC or console attachment - it's all wireless.
