Damage control by promoting your console features? I suppose all companies should stop highlighting their products' features.

Look at Forza Horizon 3 on XB1. Look at GoW4 on XB1. Any perceived power gap will be wiped away very soon.

It's okay. Phil learned from the best Yoshida.

@pkollar @MikeMcWhertor Congratulations, you must have gotten lots of clicks for the review, incl. mine, I would have not read it otherwise.

The PSN hacking bashing was fully deserved. Even then it took Sony five years to even implement 2FA. There were many people that were affected so it's great that you put the blame on the victims.

@rainslacker I can't address you directly. Lighting is sensitive to LATENCY not bandwidth or data amount. That's what I am saying. Once lighting reaches 500 ms of latency it becomes a problem. Lighting is calculated primarily using CPU not GPU and MS has a ton of servers that can be powered up at any time to give more CPU processing power. Not only that they're combining FPGA with Azure to reduce latency.

Go back and read on interviews with MS architects. They have been very clear Cloud Compute is only for physics, AI, and lighting all of which are NOT data intensive or require high bandwidth. Any graphics improvement are local because the console isn't wasting resources to do the server calculations. The console does the actual rendering
Grqphics is not transmitted with Cloud Compute. I don't see how this is any worse than PSNow where Sony is transmitting EVERYTHING graphic...

GB is wrong. You don't need massive bandwidth or unlimited data. The servers do the calculations and transmit only very small data packets. It's not streaming graphics or texture. All of this is very data and bandwidth. Latency is generally more important here.

It's most likely going to be an APU not a separate CPU & GPU combo. You've to ask how's MS able to sell the Xbox One S with 4K upscaler, UHD BR, a more expensive SoC, with optical out, and with HDMI in *all* at the *same* price as the PS4 Slim. How is this possible? Are they selling at a loss or break even?

What's stopping MS from using Puma, Puma+, or even Excavator? Why must it be Zen? I really don't think it'll be Jaguar if they want to reach ...

How do you crack EFS using AES256? Is that "modified" splash screen suppose to demonstrate cracking? Sorry that's not much proof at all. I can easily write a fake Forza app using the developer mode for side-loading with the fake splash screen. Why not show the actual game running *with* the modified splash screen?

The PS4 does not use the chips that you identified. It uses MN86471A which there's no specifications since it appears to be custom. But you cant simply conclude it has all of the features that you mentioned. Second if you look at other chips differing by even one number can be the difference between HDMI 2.0 amd 1.4b. Is it possible the PS4 has HDMI 2.0? Yes. But it's not based on that pressroom news release.

DX12 is like Vulkan is like Metal. They give much more control to developers but that require competent developers. It's also just 14 months old when Windows 10 was released. You don't expect immediate improvement when a new API comes out. It will take time. DX11 is where it is today because it was released and incrementally improved over the last 7 years (84 months) from MS, AMD, and NVIDIA.

Remedy abandoned DX12 on Steam because DX11 runs on Windows 7, 8, and 10.
If you're already running the Windows 10 Store game (i.e. DX12) then there's no reason to patch to DX11.
How can a site with "gaming" can't understand this?

So Sony is *not* for the players? Let's see: No BC, No EA Access, No Mods, No UHD BR.

Sony and security? Are you serious? It took them how long to get 2FA?

So you're saying MS should've just announced the Xbox One S on June 2016 and then announce the Scorpio in June 2017 a year later? Do you realize the amount of hate they'll get for knowing this information and intentionally withholding this?

3425d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

Announce June 2016. Available December 2017. That is NOT two years out.

3425d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

I like how the CPU is excluded in your list. So premium it has the same Jaguar, overclocked. Premium should have at least Puma. Premium should have UHDBR for a so called 4K system.

You can use external 8TB+ hard drive on XB1.
