If you watch for the specials and use an edge card, the used games biz can really benefit you if you have patience. There is a 20% extra trade at EB right now. Add 10% to that and you get 30% more on your trade. This week, EB games has a 25% off used 360 games... Add 10% more and it's 30% off. So, take for example Lost Odyssey... it is a brand new title. It is currently $54.99 used. It can be had for 30% less or $38.50. Current trade-in on the game is $25 bucks. Add 30% more to it and...
I'm as interested as anyone in the possibility of using the Wiimote as a lightsaber but from the description, it doesn't sound like a 1:1 swinging system. It sounds more like a gestures-based system where a gesture will cause the on-screen player to enact some form of movement on-screen -- i.e. the lung forward by using a "flick of the wrist". If this is the case, this was my last hope that the technology is capable of clean 1:1 fluid controls.
That's not exactly true, M.D. Blu-Ray 25 gig 2x recordable can be found for $10 or less if you shop around. 500 gig hard drives can be had for around $100 which would fit 25+ full-length blu-ray movies on and stream them from media center. I, for one, am looking forward to being able to (legitimately) download hi-def movies...
use that $50 Million for a couple of other things GTAIV-related than DLC. At $40-game cost to MS, they could have given away GTAIV-themed 360s for the same current going price of the console to the tune of 1,250,000 consoles. Or, they could have asked R* to release the 360 version 1 month ahead of the PS3 version for the same $50 million. Certainly R* might have refused, but either of those options would have been much more effective than the DLC one. Assuming the 360 is profitable (it cu...
Rock Band made me lose all interest in Guitar Hero... I suspect content will continue to come consistently and to be able to play bass, guitar, and drums on the same song is, well, far better than GH. Props to GH for starting a genre-busting franchise, but Rockband has taken over...
Why is this such a hard concept for people to understand.
Microsoft specifically stated "installed base" as that 17.7 million figure. There are 360s in the channel -- probably 500K to to 1 million which would put the number of "sold", as in sold into the channel, well over the 18 million dollar mark.
Come on, people. Read. Synthesize, then comment.
Sixaxis is the name of the playstation 3 controller. A Six Axis sensor, which would be what they are referring to, has nothing to do with Sony. Instead it is a sensor that senses 6 Axes (plural for axis). The six are pitch, yaw, roll, X, Y, and Z. Six Axis controls have been around for quite some time. Sony didn't invent it and they most certainly don't have a patent on it. The name "Sixaxis" is certainly something that Sony has copyrighted but they will have absolutely no su...
If you don't like it, don't shop there. There's always wal-mart, target, best buy, circuit city, amazon, and ebay.
The gamestops near me actually have pretty decent employees.
Clearly this poster has no idea how to use Gamestop. Case in point: I just bought, played, and returned COD4 and it cost me $2 total.
I bought the "$54.99" used COD4 and used a 25% off coupon plus a 10% member discount. I paid $35.75 for it. I used store credit -- no...
4 pages of lawsuit. 1 page of sparse gameplay update with nothing more than an "overview of the game" and a 1 page timeline. I'd like to know how the framerate is shaping up as that was the biggest issue.
So you really think if Blu-Ray had a free ride along the way that they would be cheaper than they are now? We've gone from $1000+ drives to $299 drives in pretty short order. I don't think that would have happened without the intense price pressure that Toshiba was starting to mount in the second half of last year. The free movie pack-ins and such just sweetened the deal. If HDDVD wasn't in the picture I don't think you'd be seeing sub $300 players with 5 free movies. The amount of incen...
It would have been nice if Toshiba had thrown down the gauntlet and made HD-DVD drives (1080P) widely available for $99 over the Christmas holidays. Even if they lost the war (it seemed inevitable anyways), the could have dragged this out a little longer. The fanboys in this war fail to see how fast prices have come down due to the competition. One more year and we would have easily had $99 players on both sides. With HD-DVD pretty much being buried at this point, Blu-Ray player and movi...
There are points in these video "clips" where framerate still looks to be well below 30fs. Hopefully that won't be the case with the final product. Action RPG is my favorite genre so I hope they get this one right...
There is no "campaign". It is a mindless arcade shooter that multiple people can play along side each other. This isn't a FPS/TPS with a back-story. It is an arcade shooter and a fun one at that.
And you'll find that most of the time there are pretty close. Granted a number here and a number there will be off by 15 or 20% but overall they generally stay within 10% of NPD. Note that NPD are estimates themselves and are probably subject to +- 5% error also so I don't think VGC is doing such a bad job of showing trends pretty closely...
They've got the money and don't care if they look like an ass-clown in public. Maybe a rapper or two as well.
Just because you pay $60 bucks for a crap game -- say transformers when it comes out -- doesn't mean they should buy it for $50. If they did, they'd have pretty much every copy in existence and no customers. If you don't like their policies, move on. I use them when they have their specials like the current +30% on 5 games traded in plus my extra 10%...
I also use the frequent buy 2 get 1 free sales at different retailers to keep the new cost from getting out of hand...
Whatever project he is working on doesn't interest me as I thought space giraffe sucked ass.
Figure an average salary of $100K/year would put their budget currently at about $36 million with more to come -- almost one more year? Isn't this scheduled (full game) for end of next year? If that's the case, it'll be closer to $50 million when all is said and done. That's truly astonishing and that isn't including marketing and such... How many copies will it take to break even?
Dr. Greg Zeschuk is the President and a Co-Executive Producer at BioWare Corp. He stated that it was a trilogy and would not be exclusive to the 360. Given that, I'd assume there is an incredibly small chance it will be seen outside of the 360. That doesn't mean things will change over time, but it will take nothing short of an official company announcement that it is coming to another platform for me to believe it.
That seems rather odd. Buy a 360, Buy a GTAIV and you get $50. Where is the loss?
As for "stuff" in BB that is under 50 bucks you could always buy music, cds, dvds, blu-rays, etc. ad nauseum. Or regift it...
