I thought the GPU wasn't slated to die shrink until 08 but that clearly is a smaller GPU die... That would mean less heat and less cost as well... Maybe Microsoft is in the Black on their current pricing tier afterall...

It is worth purchasing a Wii for just as SM64 was reason enough to purchase a Nintendo 64. I hate platformers. I have a 360 and soon a PS3. I love violent shooters. But SMG owns everything I've played and deserves to be GOTY -- head and shoulders above the rest.

That Sony provided Epic with "in-kind" payment in the form of developers and expertise to help get the Unreal engine fine-tuned for the PS3. In return, Epic agreed to "delay" the 360 version. That's a win-win for both -- especially since epic will continue to reap rewards from Unreal licenses on the PS3 in the future based on help with the engine from Sony... To believe that there wasn't a reason for Epic to delay the 360 version OTHER than some form of cash or in-kind ...

This game is simply amazing. I couldn't put down the controller as I wanted to see what was next. I believe Nintendo hit it out of the park with this one. I was all for seeing Bioshock or Mass Effect possibly winning GOTY, but after playing a couple of hours of this game, I can't imagine any other game beating it out in terms of "overall experience" which is what GOTY is supposed to be about...

What are PS3 fans in Japan playing on their PS3s? I know the latest Dynasty warriors sold a bunch, but that was still only about 15% or so of the Japan install base wasn't it? Are people in Japan watching that many blu-ray movies? I can't understand how R&C could open with such little sales. I would have expected it to trounce the new Dynasty Warriors and have a Hot Shots Golf type of opening. Wow.

Has two really interesting titles in it: Portal is awesome -- serious fun, but over in about 5-6 hours. There is some replay value, though. TF2 is pretty cool as the art style really makes it a unique experience.

As far as HL2, I fully disagree with it being one of the best FPS games in history. The story is WEAK in HL2. I didn't play HL1 and was hoping HL2 would make an effort to actually explain to me what the hell was going on. There is NOTHING the game does to clue me...

Don't anyone forget, the PS3 added motion controls pretty late in the game. To say that Microsoft is "copying" is a bit harsh. It's more like they are joining the party...

That said, if MS was to introduce a pointer-like controller that would have similar point and shoot functionality of the Wiimote for FPS games, I'd be all over it. Though the number of FPS games on the Wii is very slim, there are a couple that implement it really, really well and it is phenomenal...

Just about any moron can figure out that sales of a product from Nov 2 forward won't show up in sales numbers for the previous month. Why did Howard even bother with this statement? He should have left the NPD statement alone and just stuck with the 200K consoles first two weeks of Nov. newspiece....

is the supercomputer behind this? It is a 4D capable after all.

This is sarcasm, btw, for those that can't figure that out for themselves.

I look back at Madden 93 on the Sega Genesis and how much time I spent playing the game. I had the genesis joystick... 1 Joystick and an a, b, c button to play. That's all. I loved it. Over the years, more and more buttons have appeared on controllers and yes, the level of realism is there big time, but we now have 2 analogs, one digital, 4 face buttons, a forward and back arrow, two shoulder buttons, and two trigger buttons. We also have "clicks" on the two analogs. Most mode...

Developers will jump ship... It may very well be MS as a company is difficult to deal with and they would prefer to do things their way, but they aren't going to abandon the console because 360 gamers buy games... and buy them in droves... that's all they care about in the end.

I'm not paying $25 for movies on any HD format. I have a regualar DVD library of about 50 titles. I would get some on Hi Def for sure if they were $15-20 like regular DVDs... Yeah, the consumer is limited in that their choice of titles is split between formats, but in the end, it IS forcing prices to drop much faster than they would have otherwise.

It is exactly the opposite for me. I've owned systems all the way back to pong, but I'm not interested in 8 bit and 16 bit game downloads regardless of how great they were at the time. I'm not willing to back any further than PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox and they have to be stellar at that... Gaming has come a long way and the vast majority of older gen titles don't age well in this day of uber graphics.

If one were to break the encryption and copy the DVD, would it be possible to "burn" the movie onto another format? I.e. Blu-HD-DVD and vice versa. Aren't they encode as h.264 on both formats? It would seem to me that it could be possible and be lossless... How about a "service" that will take your LEGAL copy of any blu or HD-DVD and convert it to the other for a nominal charge? End of format wars overnight?

We need to know that the person that is pulling the images isn't "tweaking" the pictures or selecting specific images for the benefit of or to the detriment of the other... It would be cool, though, to run a poll and see what comes up...

"Huxley is an MMOFPS utilizing the Unreal Engine 3 that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. Human beings have mutated and are divided into two opposing races, Sapiens and Alternative, who are forced to battle against one another to gain control of the world and its resources."

Now there's a story line and a genre we haven't seen before... man, I sure would like to see something "fresh"... Mass Effect maybe?

Never ceases to amaze me. First, the prices have come down but REGARDLESS, this is an older model, discontinued. They decided to blow them out to get rid of them. It wasn't a stunt, desperation, or anything other than a quick way to move some units that are discontinued. First, there was the A1, then the A2 and the A3 has been around for a while now. The A3 replaced the A2 and given that the A3 is on sale for $199, what choice did they have if they wanted to get them gone quick? Slash '...

You might be surprised where most of the data comes from. Retailers -- that's right. Retailers. He samples just like NPD does but on a much smaller scale so his numbers have a higher margin of error than NPD. You might look into a little thing called statistics and sample sizes. HERE'S the BIGGIE FOR YOU: NPD, Media Create, Famitsu, and so on are ALL ESTIMATES based on statistical sampling. You moron fanboys on all sides need learn a bit before commenting as it only makes you look more...
