Wow, thats weak. Hopefully all of the restrictive gaming laws in the USA that are analagous to this z-rating law will continue to be struck down. I would hate it if I couldn't buy any M-rated games at any local retailers, although online is always an option.

The headline should be:
"PS3 games as expensive xbox360 games."

The PSP game is a different handheld version tentatively titled "The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion" and not the original game.

I know, but it didn't say when in 2007, and GHIII is tentatively scheduled for a Q4 2007 release. I have a feeling that a ps3 port of GHII is in the works though, and we'll probably see it in early 2007 like the 360 version. If it is coming for ps3 in the spring, I still don't know if I can hold out that long. At least if I get the ps2 version I can play on the ps3 anyways.

You're right, the Cell processor is capable of performing raytracing algorithms, but raytracing is different from procedural genesis.

I found this on the internet:
"So when Microsoft sent out a "detailed analysis" of how the two consoles will perform (probably in response to Sony’s ridiculous 2 Teraflop claim), we knew the PR war had begun for good. According to Microsoft, “XBOX 360 has provably [sic] more performance than PS3”. Their longwinded analysis has been posted in its entirety by many "reputable" websites. The contents can be more or less summarised in one word: hogwash.

How come we can't have one ps3 article without someone mocking cgi, even if its a gameplay video, but no one cares about this?

Could it be that people know that concept trailers are important from an art direction standpoint and for creating hype(which entails more game sales), but are willing to overlook that fact to bash the opposition?

Anyways, this looks like its gonna be good. I hope it comes to the pc so I can play with a mouse and keyboard and not a contr...

Yeah, I won't be picking this up on ps3 either. I already have it on the pc, but if someone missed out on it for the 360 and doesn't have a good gaming pc, then this is good news for them.

Of course the ps3 does procedural synthesis. We've even seen it in use in games like Warhawk (it was utilized to create the water effects).

I hope a ps3 version of GHII is announced for a 2007 release like the 360 one. If not, I guess I'll have to wait an entire year until GHIII comes to ps3.

I'm getting a 1080p hdtv over the holidays, but I'll be using my ps3 for movies and probably won't even get the add on for the 360 so it isn't that big of a deal for me.

PC games always outpace console games, I mean it won't be long before we see gaming computers more powerful than the ps3 or 360, and remember how quickly the last generation's graphics were overtaken by pcs. This happens every console cycle.

Anyone who is really obsessed with getting HDDVD movies is probably going to get a stand alone player or hold out and hope for an internal drive on the 360 or an HDMI adapter. I think the add on has more appeal to someone who doesn't have a top of the line hdtv and a great sound system. I'm a little troubled that we haven't heard anything about an HDMI adapter. Thats really the only thing that I expected out of x06 that hasn't come true, although they have given surprises I didn't see comi...

Why do we always have to debate which is better? Can't we all just enjoy our racing game of preference?

7103d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

I guess White Knight Story is farther away than I had hoped.

Actually IGN entertainment and Gamespy industries were separate comanies until they merged. Gamespy remains a component of the larger IGN entertainment company and the two websites are maintained separately. To say that IGN works for Sony is a bit misleading. Sony has just contracted Gamespy to work on its online mode for a few titles.

The gameplay in that one seems like real next gen and makes FF and LO seem dated. I think WKS's combat is the future for console RPGs.

First off about overheating: One unfinished game running at 60 fps and native 1080p overheating isn't that much of a cause for concern. To put it in perspective, the 360 has had overheating problems with games running at the same framerate at half the resolution.

Second, about your comment of no racers being on the screen, there were obviously 11 other racers in this, but they've all passed the guy. Look at the HUD, he's in last place by a lot apparently. Maybe thats why yo...

Where does it say that? It says there will be 2 episodes exclusive for the 360. It doesn't say anything about exclusives beyond that or that those 2 episodes will be the only extra content.

Did you read the post right above you. Microsoft fanboys say that stuff too. Fanboys on both sides are too single minded and vitriolic to realize that a lack of competition is bad for the industry.
