Early releases for bluray were using mpeg2 compression on 25gb discs. mpeg2 is still a lossy compression algorithm, and it is the main reason why early bluray releases weren't as impressive as their hddvd counterparts which used vc1, I believe. Now Warner Bros. is using vc1 i think and Sony is using h.264/mpeg4 on the 50gb discs which will dramatically improve the quality of the video.
If they hit that for the actual game, it's going to be one of the best looking games ever!
My first ps2 was acting weird once so I sent it to Sony and they fixed it free of charge. Then it broke down a couple of years later, back when I got San Andreas. By then the slim ps2 was out so I just got one of those instead.
Do you even read your comments? "Did or didn't I was right that Sony is a company in distress?"....What?
First: "The company is having problems never seen before" There have been recalls before, recalls that were much more detrimental to business, in fact. Remember Bridgestone-Firestone? They had to recall millions of tires that KILLED people. And yet, somehow their company survived? And they're company's not even nearly as diverse as Sony; they make ...
It's not bad, kinda wished they'd put in a second controller or one of those legacy memory card readers though.
Lossless compression does not mean worse compression. The file is bigger but the quality is much better. Movies on HDDVD or Bluray are going to be much bigger than they were on DVDs because they are natively rendered at a much higher definition than dvds.
Wow that was actually a mature, pleasant comment. Keep it up!
It wasn't even the best Final Fantasy ever. 4,5,6,7,8, and 9 were all better than 10, in my opinion. Also, I think that 12 is going to be much better than 10 was, so if you liked 10, 12 should blow you away.
Anyways, the awards were for games that changed the genre. 4 and 7 were the two final fantasies that represented the biggest leaps forward for the series, so that is why 4 got the mention.
That link didn't work for me, but I found it anyways

Couldn't they do a bundle with the premium version so Japanese gamers don't have to get the crappy version and then find out they have to buy an hdd separate. But I guess for $250 you can't complain that much.
Well Bethesda has been working on a third installment of the Fallout series since 2004, and I think they've announced it as multiplatform, so whether you're on a ps3, 360, or good ol' pc I guess you have something real exciting to look forward to since you're a fallout fan.
I love these historical articles; they're always a fun read.
I know that if Sony was "loosing" [sic] money every quarter that financial statement wouldn't show a profit of any kind. I made no claims to be any sort of business analyst, all I said was that you are definitely not one. You're just an idiot fanboy. Get over yourself, go play your 360, and stop with this all of this pointless hating that you do.
Well once Microsoft's stock was at 60, but now it's well below 30 if my memory serves me right. MART, you're no business analyst; you're not a stockbroker. You don't know what you're talking about.

Here's an ad with the launch date.
MS is making a similar switch to 65nm chips to reduce heat and power consumption. Sony could make the switch and maintain clock speed like Microsoft will be doing in one of the later hardware revisions.
And on a cheesier note, "That's what I call a 'cell' phone." Har har har.
Thank God that the overheating rumors and game price rumors will die away in about a month when we can actually see the truth for ourselves.
Probably Motorstorm, thats what they've been playing in all their various videos of the ps3.
Well I can't say no jump in this game is bad. In some games I just don't think it's needed, and it would make the multiplayer look a little cartoony when it definitely shouldn't, and it would look odd with those big guys just hopping around like crazy. There is probably going to be something that lets you hop low cover and sprint to something ahead of you, and I think thats all that the game really needs to do jumpingwise.
The controller plugs into the ps3 with the usb cable and thats how it charges the batteries for it.
