First off, I expect the open world, "sandbox," games to be bigger, have better graphics, and to show more variance than they have this past generation. I expect that to take up more space. So this whole Zune thing had nothing to do with gaming? Then why were all those articles about it on this site? I don't come here to read articles about iPods, or the new movie Sony pictures is releasing, or crap like that. This is news4GAMErs. I want to read articles about gaming, or things related directly to gaming, with possible gaming applications.
If Gears was two disks it wouldn't matter at all. But if, theoretically, GTA Vice City had been two discs and you had to switch every time you went from one island to the other, then that would totally suck. Thats the real problem with multi-disc games; some games are just less fun if they won't fit on one disc.
That would also mean that if the single player was 15 hours instead of 10 hours, there would be too much to fit on a single disc. Of course, it does appear that this is very much a fake.
It still needs work but it looks like it's moving along nicely. I thought that weird tree thing was pretty cool.
A game like Oblivion or GTA, where any part of the game world can be accessed at any time wouldn't be able to be put on multiple discs. Games like Resident Evil, or Gears, or a FPS like Resistance can be put on multiple discs because once a certain point in the game is reached, the environments from the previous areas are no longer needed. Having multiple discs for a game like Gears would be little more than a minor inconvenience, but for other games it means the overall graphic quality mus...
Every time I see or hear "Zune" I always think about that Zuni fetish doll from the Trilogy of Terror movies. Of all the names they could pick, they had to pick the one that reminds of a disturbingly creepy, evil doll.
On a less random note, I still am not sure exactly what Zune is. Is it an iPod competitor or more of a gaming thing? I'm happy right now with my nano, but if it breaks or something, I'd like to know more about the alternatives so I'm kinda interested...
If that 7.2 gigs is right, then that means the game is getting close to hitting that 9 gig mark. If it is correct, does that lend credence to the dvd9 is insufficient argument?

This was a forgone conclusion. The Wii and ps3 will both sell out but the Wii will sell more because they have more available. Anyone with a brain knew this ever since the launch numbers were announced. I would rather see a nice poll of consumers about which console they would most like to get this Christmas.
Looks great so far. Only real mistake I see is the one with all the people. They're not looking the right way! Of course thats only a minor aesthetic problem. Overall, this game looks gorgeous.
