I like how MART submitted an article thinking it was pro 360 but then it turns out to just be ps3 screens.
gthd isn't competing with the next full forza installment; gt5 would be competing with it. Comparing the two would be like comparing the original forza to gt4 prologue. Gthd is a teaser game, not a full-fledged sequel to gt4.
Those are just the few that appeal the most to ME, I never said those were the only ones on the 360 worth playing. I would also add Blue Dragon to that list because I'll probably want to get that too.
Also, a few of the games you listed are multiplatform, and since the ps3 will be my main platform I would rather get them for that or on a pc. I haven't even seen anything from a few of the games you've listed like fable2 or huxley, but its not like I meant to say they were bad ...
I don't see how I'm a fanboy. I admit that the exclusive games that Sony has (Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, etc.) are the type of games I prefer over Microsofts titles (Oblivion, Gears of War, Halo, Splinter Cell, etc.) but I do readily admit that many of their games look very interesting to me, Blue Dragon especially. I also am really psyched about Nintendo's Wii console and will be getting that on launch to go with my ps3. I also plan on getting a 360 down t...
It's not too bad considering this is Avalanche studios first game. I think the game would have been nicer if they hadn't bothered with the ps2 or xbox versions. Hopefully they got some good experience out of this and we'll see their games improve with their next try.
Alright then, I'll wait until December to see whats up.
The ps3 is retailing for $1200 New Zealand Dollars! That almost certainly means that the premium ps3 will cost $800 in the United States!
The speculation on the cost of ps3 games is as stupid as the paragraph I just wrote. The games will be $60 because thats the price point of games at the time in the US and Japanese exchange rates don't set the prices over here. If they did, we'd be getting Wii's for about $50 less.
The art design on this game sounds amazing. This is one of the few 360 games that I really want to play. In the future when the premium 360 hits around $200 and they've got an HDMI adaptor out, I'll probably be out there picking up Halo3, Lost Planet, and GoW.
The reviews prove it? Gran Turismo has had 4 different installments which have metacritic aggregate scores of 96, 93, 95, and 89. Forza has one installment which scored at a 92. To go ahead and anoint Forza the preeminent racing simulator would be completely fallacious.
This is fine for a preview type of thing, like what gt4 prologue did for gt4, but in gt5 I want them to make full use of the storage they have to hold as many cars/tracks/and whatever else they can think of. Having downloadable things come after that is fine, but gt5 better be huge even without microtransactions, especially since it's going to be such a long wait.
I'll believe it when I see the sales charts for next week.
Yeah, you're right that it will be phased out next year though. Next year will probably be the last year where we'll see any nice releases for the ps2.
That article was based solely on graphics and not gameplay and it only took into account games playable at TGS, so its uncertain if GoW was considered for the list since it wasn't playable in public.
I don't know how smart that would be right away; ps2 is still the biggest software seller as far as consoles go.
I heard the game itself is going to be incredibly cheap and they're just going to rely on microtransactions to make profit off of it. The article on ign says the game itself will only cost a few dollars:

Hopefully this will make the wait for gt5 in 2008 a little more bearable. Until then at least we have this and Motorstorm.
Where'd you get this from? If the game was crashing repeatedly and had framerate issues, ever think it might be unfinished or poor coding?
Yeah, but I think RR7 and Virtua Tennis 3 were both in 1080p at 60fps for the ps3, resulting in their high showing in this list which was based purely on graphics and not gameplay.
Stop posting this link! It's not a judgement of the top games at TGS! It's a list of games at TGS sorted by their gs ranks on ign. It has no relation to the Tokyo Game Show. Heres a link to see the top 100 by their ign gs rank:

This only has to do with the users at the ign website. I don't know how you came under the notion that this was somehow a ranking of the top TGS g...
Looks amazing! The motion control really changes how the flying works in these type of games, and now the aiming is a lot easier because of it. I still wish they had kept the rumble in addition to the motion sensing, but if it was a choice between rumble and motion sensing, I'd pick motion sensing. Too bad it won't come until June 07, cause this was high up on my games to get list along with Resistance and Motorstorm.
Sporadic releases of games targeted towards a Japanese audience every two or three months still isn't enough to win over the market. Microsoft still has its work cut out for it enlisting Japanese developers to make a steady supply of games for their consoles. Thats the best way to make a foothold in the market. These high quality Japanese developed games coming out should help them, but Microsoft has to keep up the onslaught if they want to achieve significant market penetration. Otherwis...
