How many kids games let you shoot mini nuclear bombs, or kill things with rocket launchers?
Having a cartoony mascot does not make a kids game, ie. Conker's Bad Fur Day.
What makes this not a kids game you might ask? Crazy weapons, formidable difficulty, and a story full of humor and innuendo that flies over the heads of children.
Maybe you should try playing the game before you criticize/characterize it.
Since the firmware update comes on the disc, I don't see this as any sort of problem.

I still feel bad for xboxers having to pay money for this too. I know I'm not paying $20 so i can play a game i got tired of months ago, but $10 is slightly more reasonable, and I wonder how many people will go for that.

Let's everybody stop complaining about 40 people online, and just wait until it comes out to see how it is. Some people will obviously prefer 40 people, while others will prefer to set their games at 8. It's all personal preference, so let's allow gamers who play it to decide.
I remember the lead designer saying that the motion control probably won't be implemented in the game, so I would say there's a very good chance of the gamecube controller being compatible.
Gundam was definitely the worst one, which is odd considering Famitsu gave it a 32/40, 80%. Maybe the build was an different, or the Japanese just really love giant mech things more than the Gamespot guys. I guess either the final units might be different than the test kits they were using, or people should not eject discs midgame, which shouldn't be hard considering you can get back to the main menu thing by hitting the playstation button.
The only game they seemed really bored with was Gundam, which looked pretty bad. Their consensus was that games like Madden, NHL 07(it might have been 2k7 but whatever), NBA 2k7, etc. look at least as good as the 360 version, so I guess if they look like crappy ps2 games, then the 360 must be just as bad. You mean it froze when he ejected the disc mid game? Are you telling me the 360 can eject games midplay and not freeze or stop playing? I guess you just sit the discs down next to the 360 and it plays them through some sort of bizarre wireless dvd reading thing?
Gamespot was just playing through the first part of Resistance and it looks like the enemies actually DO have some nice ai. They took cover, flanked the players, and one enemy actually hid so that the player passed him and then the chimera got the jump on him from behind. Anyways, the game also looks like it's pretty hard. The players died like 4 times in the first part of the first level.
They're playing Ridge Racer 7 on Gamespot, and it doesn't look like the loading times are bad at all. It seems like only people obsessed with RR would benefit from installing it to almost eliminate load times completely.

The ps3 version would come out months before the 360 version because it is so far along. The same goes for Lost Planet on the 360. However, when DMC5 and LP2 are in the pipeline, they will probably go simultaneous multiplatform like RE5.
Ratchet is a Lombax, and Clank is a robot, for those of you who haven't actually played the games to see how fun they are. The weapons kick @ss, the gameplay is tight, and the story is very funny.
You guys might not like it because you haven't played it. If that's true then it's a real shame, cause you're missing out on one of the best game franchises from the sixth generation. I hope this next installment will expand on the fun, but shallow and unpolished, online mode from the previous games.
Why is everyone getting mad at #2. You have to admit that the review wasn't that extensive, and it looks like it actually might have been made up based on known information about the game like #6 seems to believe. I'd much rather see an IGN, Gamespot, or best yet, a Game Informer review score, but I expect them all to be somewhere in that 9 range.
How can #4 call into question the veracity of this review and get agrees but #2 does the same and gets disagrees?

Yes! I love R&C. One of the greatest action platformer series ever. Insomniac is one of the best developers in the biz.
