It would have to be some sort of weird virus specially designed to utilize the consoles' unique os and bypass the console's protection against unsigned code. It's not likely at all.
Why do you have to bash Ratchet and Clank? They're some really great games, and if you actually took the time to play them you would probably realize that they are fun and original. Anyone else who has played them would attest to the fact that they are not kids games, but of course you've only seen the pictures on the boxes and you relate all action platformers to childrens games so what would you know about the gameplay.
I like the idea of doing the physics on a specialized part of the gpu instead of having to force it onto the cpu or have a separate physics processing unit.
GREAT SUCCESS!
My point is that we've seen nothing from it, it's all hype at this point, just like Killzone2. The only games that really qualify as being AAA titles without seeing anything from them are established franchises like Halo, Final Fantasy, Zelda, or Metal Gear. I have confidence that it will probably be good, because I loved what Silicon Knights did with Eternal Darkness, I'm just not gonna jump in and label things as AAA if I have no idea what the gameplay is even gonna be like. And what uni...
Ranked clan matches would be awesome. Imagine how great the battles between the top clans would be. Everyone would have better strategy so the matches would be great.
Yeah, you're right, but I was kinda expecting more after those first impressive screens. It's gonna have to improve a bunch between now and Q1 07 before I decide to get it, and I don't really like the style of the game that the trailer shows.
Yeah for now and the foreseeable future all the backwards compatability is achieved by including the ps2 and ps1 chips in the ps3. They're working on an emulation thing, and once they get that working well enough to emulate the games at the same standard as including the old chips they will replace the chips in future models with emulation to reduce costs. That's their plan anyways. We'll see when they can find a way to implement the emulation successfully, but since Microsoft is still str...
Is it just me or does this trailer look much less impressive than the screens we saw a while back?
WTF! Warrior Within was wonderful! Why would we (that's all i can do) consider as one of the worst 10 games ever. It may not have been as good as Sands of Time, and the direction they took may have been questionable, but if you're looking for a terrible sequel then go for Devil May Cry 2. And I have played and own Shaq Fu, and it's not that bad. It's actually pretty funny and random, although I don't know if they were trying to do that. It's not good by any stretch of the imagination, b...
It's because Core players need to be able to store content on the 50MB cards, hence the limit. That's also one of the reasons why some games like Lumines have been split up, because it would be difficult to fit all the required audio and other assets in 50MB. That's only for some games though.
Why does everyone call this a AAA title, when all we've really seen of it is really crappy gameplay? That'd be like calling Killzone2 a AAA title. Unless it actually shows something awesome, then it just has the potential to be good.
The ps3 content does have the advantage of being 1080p, and they can all go over the 50MB limit that MS has imposed, resulting in larger, more technical arcade style games. Plus that comes into effect when games like Lumines on Live are split up and cost more to get the whole package. On the ps3 the entire game could be presented as a whole, and would therefore be cheaper.
It's definitely a tradeoff. For ps3 arcade games to compete, they're gonna still have to be extremely p...
Oh no, a mediocre game that already had 2 competing games of the same genre was cancelled, and another mediocre game was delayed. Whatever are ps3 owners to do this holiday season?
And where are you getting this full auto 2 and framerate information from? I've heard nothing about either of them.
Food for thought: They gave Guitar Hero 2 a 9.6, and Gears a 9.1. Also, if you go to gamerankings, the two games have identical scores at the moment.
I'll be the first to say that this doesn't really mean anything except that the two games are masterpieces of their respective genres. Both are must haves in my opinion. I was just interested in how other great games like Guitar Hero 2, Final Fantasy XII, and even Call of Duty 3, the successor to the 360's most popular game ...
I haven't, just based on reviews. Live got a 61 on metacritic so I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that it sucked.
At least we still have the better one (2k7).
I have played the Atari 2600 (my parents had one), and it's not so great. It was Atari's policies during the Atari 2600 era that almost destroyed the videogame industry during its infancy. Atari's games were terrible, and the hardware wasn't as good as some of the alternatives on the market. Add the ridiculous pricing of their videogames, and yes, I would say that Atari's videogame consoles sucked.
Off the bat I would actually use IBM as an example, as it has the added irony of actually having one of IBM's products in Jay's 360 as he makes that claim.
I've never heard of this until now, so I wouldn't really say it's AAA. Plus, it's on the pc, so it's not so exclusive. People like me who don't have a 360 will still be able to play games like this and Bioshock, and the pc versions are usually better in my opinion because of the ability to get mods, which add considerably to the replay value.
