Wait, did that other article just link to the second half of this one, the pessimistic half?
Oops my bad, I must have misread the IGN article I was referencing. But still, the ps3 games had much less time on the final dev kits than 360 games. Plus this is the second 360 Tony Hawk, and the first ps3 Tony Hawk.
#17, I've been reading your post some more, and it appears obvious to me that you're some sort of fanboy, as evidenced by your fanboy logic (or illogic). Gears is first gen because it started being developed 2 years ago, however, all ps3 games are 3rd gen bec...
IGN tried out two bluetooth headsets I think, but they couldn't get them to work. Maybe only some work, or the firmware or something needs to be updated to do it. As of right now, I don't think this functionality is working.
Maybe what it takes to be a AAA game has just diminished to hype. Usually to be branded a AAA game, it would have to get great reviews or be part of an established franchise that gets great reviews. For example, some people might say White Knight Story on the ps3 is a AAA title based off of the strength of the trailer. I wouldn't though, not until reviews or at least previews of the gameplay are in. Whatever though. Call anything you want AAA.
It might be out of many peopl...
You obviously don't understand how the generations of games are determined. It is by dev kit time, always has been. The fact is that the ps3 dev kits weren't finished until August, so that's 3 months time with them. Gears had an extra year of time with the final dev kits, hence it being a second gen game.
By your logic and reasoning, Duke Nukem Forever could be released tomorrow for the ps2 and be a first generation game. That makes absolutely no sense.
You're the one starting the fanboy arguments, pro logic, with your idiotic bashing of the ps2. The facts are that the ps2 is the most successful console ever, and it had games of every genre, that could please any gamer; it didn't do it with luck. The Xbox simply failed to release the same wide array of games, plain and simple.
Also, anyone who thinks the ps3 will match the ps2's success is crazy. It won't be able to get such a large market share because the two competitor...
The pc is not the same as the 360. And what about my post made you laught out loud exactly?
#1.8 I sure as hell hope they don't start charging subscription fees for my pc games. That would piss me off so much, because I've been playing games online for free for so long.
HD TV's have become much more popular in the past year alone, partly thanks to the 360.
#1.6. I would disagree on that. I think UT2007 looks better, but then again, it is much less people than Huxley.
Does anyone know if there will be a subcription fee for this game like other MMOs? If there isn't a fee then I'll be much more inclined to give this game a shot, otherwise I'll stick to Bioshock for all my pc fps needs.
I'm not a pc exclusive gamer though. Right now I have a good gaming pc (high school graduation present from 2 years ago, still runs well), a Gamecube, and a ps2 (Guitar Hero 2 is awesome). Come this time next month I will have a ps3, a wii, and a good gaming pc. I've pretty much got my bases covered on all the good games coming out, except Gears, but I'll have a 360 in two years or so. And yes, Windows is a Microsoft platform, but that's not the point. The consoles aren't Sony, Microsoft...
The greatest moment in all of videogame history for me was Celes' opera scene in Final Fantasy VI/III. Back in 94 that blew me away. My jaw dropped, literally, the first time I saw it.
I'm willing to bet that the person who made that bid has no intention of buying it. People make fake bids all the time to piss people off.
Motorstorm seems to have a lot going on at once with a real realistic art style. I don't know what you're basing your assertions on.
Anyways, I have no idea what EA is trying to do. Are they not content with angering their customers, so now they're trying to piss off their fellow developers? What's next? Are they gonna take a page from Atari's playbook and bash the console makers now? I'm calling tomorrow's headline: "EA executive says Sony and Microsoft are run by l...
I haven't played Gears yet, although I'm looking forward to it, but I'll use another example to support Gears.
Guitar Hero 2, after 18 reviews, has a gamerankings aggregate score of 94.7%.
The game is virtually unchanged from the original in terms of gameplay. All they've really done is polish it up.
I've played Guitar Hero 2, and I love it, it's my favorite game of the year so far. If I had to review it, it would be a definite 10/10.

It's all about the weapons. Each game has something like 40 unique weapons, and a lot of them are just insane, and the amount of awesome weapons just makes it so there are always tons of options you have playing it, adding to the replay value. The main character is pretty cartoony, but the emphasis on weapons, the difficulty, and the more adult oriented humor (the third games subtitle is Up Your Arsenal) make the game more suited for teenagers and older gamers as opposed to children. I'm p...
Microsoft already charges $50 for most first party games. It's the third parties that set the $60 price point.
I was just comparing it to the previous screenshots I had seen, which had given the impression of Gears or UT2007 type of graphics but with a ton of people all at once. That's the only reason why I was disapointed by this trailer.
It lines up with Sony and Nintendo's strategies. Nintendo wants to attract people who wouldn't normally buy game consoles, and Sony wants people to make the ps3 their central media thing. So it will make a difference to a segment of the target demographic, but not all people will think it's important.
You guys do realize that the ps3 had considerably less dev time with the final kits, and that the 360 version is the second 360 Tony Hawk game? Those are pretty big factors to consider.
You left out the full quote: "The iPod will mount, but no video, audio or photo tracks can be found on the standard XMB menu. Jump into "Display All", however, and it's a totally different story -- you can see the Calendar and music directories, and can browse as deep as you need to in order to find the files."
