I like the PC for playing RTS's and 360 exclusives that wind up on Windows. I prefer sitting on my couch with a big screen over a monitor at my desk any day though.
GOW III might be one of those titles to make a decent/noticeable leap forward. Seems to be the tradition now with GOW games, even when it shows up on the PSP, and it will be 2.5 years into the PS3 cycle when it shows up.

Yeah, the whole Wii thing is not at all related to Nintendo's 1st party support. People just want it because the demand it has generated.
A friend of our families who is a grandmother found out they were going to be selling them locally and wanted to wait in the wee hours to get one for her granddaughter, but first she was asking me exactly what a Wii was and was it a handheld, etc. Just goes to show how hype and demand can lead to sales.
Don't forget a PC and a handheld or two. There really is no reason to leave the house... except for that annoying work thing.

It's still hard to compare because it was multiplatform. I imagine some multi console owners did get it for the PS3 even though they had a 360. Granted if you have both, the 360 is the obvious choice, but some people might have gotten it as a gift or just wanted to play it on the PS3 for nostalgic reasons, so the 360 could have lost sales.

Id needs to hit a homerun with Doom 4. They used to be the king of the block, but now seem content with pursuing mobile platforms and whatnot.
All they needed to say was "most" of your PS2 games and probably would have been fine.
10 years just seems so long for a console lifecycle. I wonder if a PS4 will come out before that 10 years span is up and the intention is the PS3 can live on a few more years much like the PS2 coexists with the PS3 today.
If they are just now hiring a PS3 developer, still would be a ways off until they had a PS3 product unless they are just adding to their already existing PS3 staff.
Seems like it is turning out good from the reviewers perspective except for some control issues. Sounds like an interesting game.
This one was on my PC radar. Might wait around for the newer version or possibly the console port if it plays as well on the console.
Seems these days it pays to wait for games to find their way to the last console/PC. You almost always get enhanced content plus bug fixes... just takes a little bit of patience and with all the games out as it is there is plenty to do in the mean time.

Great movie and I agree games aren't keeping people out of the movie, bad movies have been. What the heck has come out so far in '08 worth watching up until now?
Pretty pathetic parenting. My kids (6 and 8) both have a DS which they play within the boundaries of when we allow them to. If they ever snuck it when they weren't supposed to they would not see it again for a number of days.
If kids have to share because you can't get one for each, then you draw out a fair distribution chart that they either follow or lose their next turn.
Don't tell me games have zero benefit to the child. My son is desperately trying to lea...
There were alot of things done right in AC. AC had some faults that were really around the design of gameplay that take nothing away from the engine. Hopefully, POP will be a great game.
This time next year the PS3 will have had MGS4, GOW III, Killzone 2, (possibly) FFXIII, GT5 and (on the fringe) LBP all potential exclusive system sellers out. As of yet, there really hasn't been any exclusives to the PS3 that would be genuine system sellers. I imagine the PS3 rate will pick up alot.
