Wow, this is fascinating news :p
I also heard yesterday he no longer wants to be called Cliffy B, just Cliff will do. This man is a walking headline.
Well there is also the fact if Bioshock 2 is indeed multiplatform then they have a much better chance of selling to PS3 owners if they had a crack at the first one. It's hard to sell a part 2 when you never offered them a part 1. Plus, if they are making 2 multiplatform, I don't see an inferior PS3 port of part 1.
I agree, they should have just gone with the we don't comment on rumors tag line if it was really coming out instead of denying it altogether.
oh really, that's good to hear. I know early on it was selling slowly, but I haven't been following it. Good to hear it picked up steam. Insomniac said it would have legs.
Who needs a treadmill or stationary bike or membership to a gym? America is obsessed with weight and weight loss. This was a no brainer by Nintendo. Can you blame them for trying to capitalize on it?
I asked my wife if she would be interested in it and she said she would use it once or twice and most likely forget about it. The Wii board will be just like the treadmill. Sitting there collecting dust after a few uses in 90% of the homes.
I had alot of fun with R&C. I don't know that game sold poorly. It was alot of just laid back platforming and shooting fun.
I honestly cannot understand him when XPlay shows a portion of his review. When I watch them online, they are much easier to follow. I don't know what it is, maybe on my couch my brain slows way down.
I think fluids add a whole new dimension to the game. Imagine filling up a container and having to tip it or poke a hole in it to use the water to your advantage. Alot of possiblities there.
Great idea BigKev... Sony needs to get in touch with McD's and put the Sack Boys into Happy Meals. That will draw the kids in. Heck, I would start getting Happy Meals if I could get a Sack Boy. Good thinking Kev!
I don't think the 360 will last until 2012. It might last alongside of a 720 like the PS2 does alongside the PS3 today and if that is the case, the price would drop substantially.
If indeed the 360 is still going strong in 2012, I don't think the numbers will tail off like that graph shows though.
I think you'll find alot more multi console owners this generation than last. Alot of hardcore gamers that have a Wii have either a PS3 or 360.
The problem is MS has 18,000,000 360 owners that don't have one. Nintendo has 25,000,000 Wii owners that do. MS has to convince developers that making a game that supports it will be worth their while AND they will be able to convince the 18,000,000 360 owners to buy one.
I'll bet Sony has one in development. Whether they release it or not is another story, but they would be in the same boat as MS.
Why not push Resistance 2 back? Killzone has been delayed long enough, it would seem they would want to get that title out.
Don't you really just need the publishers showing off the games?
I don't think gamers care who shows up as long as the important information companies are waiting to announce gets told.
The story was saying this could possibly come out in late '09 or 2010? Wow, you could start a game today and get it out by then. Maybe they realized what they had wasn't working and started over from scratch, or maybe they took one look at Bourne and said well, that's better than what we got.
That's a pretty shifty thing to do. Makes it look like Ubisoft is trying to cover up something.
In the end Free Radical has had plenty of time to make this game good, and considering their history they should have been able to deliver a gem.
Looks like this went from a buy to a rental for me.
Ha, ok. Good to know.
Cliffy, Cliffy B, is that you :p
I do believe Ted Price has unicorns and rainbows pouring out of his a$$.
At least we know we will be fighting in Little Italy. Anyone find any easter eggs? You know how Insomniac likes to hide little clues in their shots/videos.
What companies say in their PR speak and what they say behind closed doors are totally different. All the things the author mentions that these companies don't have a clue about are shortcomings these companies are all well aware of but choose not to make public. If you listen to any of the 3 companies PR speak, they all think they will be the winner.
Sony knows it needs better online, but it making sure Home is done right and not something they want to rush to market.
...
That's true, Mass Effect 2 is also one that has potential to be multi platform, but I see less chance of the PS3 getting the first one since MS published it unless some type of deal has been worked out with EA. It might be tough to follow the story if you never played 1.
I might get ME on the PC as it looks like a nice game.
Anyway, bubble for you.
