Isn't it already the 20th in Iceland?
...and why is it green in Iceland, but icy in Greenland?
I think you are right. I don't think MGS will be as big a console pusher as some people are hoping. I would think the crowd that would buy it will be people that own a PS2, but I would have figured GTA would have pushed those people too. I have a PS3 and will get the game too, but we'll have to see how big of a seller it turns out to be.
On the fringe, there could be 360 owners that do pick up a PS3 for it. This might be the first exclusive title that is a big enough draw f...
Does the guy really need to make predictions? I know he is an analyst, but he might be better served to not make hard and fast estimates. They are rarely even close, so it tends to dismiss other things he says about the industry.
You know what they say, it's better to keep your mouth shut and let others think you are an idiot than to open it and remove all doubt.
My guess is MS went to R* with the intent of buying exclustivity of the title. R* wouldn't go that route, so the next best thing was exclusive DLC. R* has said that they are just now working on the content of that DLC, so I imagine MS doesn't know enough about what it will entail to advertise it. MS is hoping there will be a resurgence of console buyers when the DLC comes out and is hoping GTAIV has enough legs to be a good seller come Fall time.
I don't know, I think it was...
I wonder if this is a culture thing. Americans are pretty sensitive around weight issues, not sure if Japan is.
I got on the Wii Fit board and it said one at a time please :(
Lol... Ok. Viva la Google
> Let me ask, if the Xbox or PS3 were to go away, how exactly would that benefit you? seriously, give me ONE honest answer.
I think the simple answer is all titles would come to your console.
I'm not saying a lack of competition is a good thing. MS/Sony/Nintendo are kept on their toes by one another which only benefits gamers, however with a neck to neck competition you have each console wanting the biggest and best exclusives on their system which means thos...
My guess is GoW III will make it by March. They haven't missed a March release yet with any GoW title, so it has become something of a tradition.
It would be tough to predict how games would sell on the Wii if I was a publisher. With the PS360 at least you know the customer base alot better, but with the casual crowd, once you move out of that mini-game sweet spot (and aren't named Nintendo) you never know how your game will sell.
I would think this means Bioshock 2 is coming to the PS3. It would be hard to sell 2 if they hadn't sold 1 in the first place. Plus, it's a proven seller so porting it makes financial sense.
@ 9.1 - Good memory.
>>Kim mentioned that Microsoft will be focusing more on developing its own game series in the future, instead of primarily working with outside studios (ala Gears of War 2 and Ninja Gaiden) in order to obtain exclusives. He felt that Microsoft developing more original franchises would be "important" moving forward.
This was something MS should have been doing all along. If they are just now starting to create in house games, they are still a few years out from...
You always get more when you get the port months later. You just have to be patient. In ME, they fixed a number of issues and added the DLC. Similar with GEOW. I imagine GTAIV will be similar when it hits PC. I'd rather have something that is better but comes later. I've got plenty to play in the mean time.
I would think putting out an old build of a demo does more harm than good. Demos have a way of turning me off to games I'm interested in, rather than the other way around. Better to just not put one out in that case.
Stop asking corporate shills any questions anymore. Does anyone care when a site interviews a president of some division in these companies? Not like you aren't going to get the same spin put on everything over and over again. Go interview someone unbiased or dig up some worker bee for inside info who isn't practiced in the art of spin control.
I just don't understand why MS doesn't have a number of in house development teams to rival or surpass Sony. MS is the software company here, not Sony and they have had many years to develop in house talent by either snapping up smaller studios or hiring their own talent. If they could pump out 5-8 first party exclusives a year like Nintendo is doing, they would be in a much better position. Where would the Wii be without first party games? Sony traditionally makes some of the best games ...
An appearance change would be a welcome advantage from a consumer psychological viewpoint. The 360 is paired with the RROD from all but the most casual and uninformed buyers. Just changing internal chips may be helpful, but may not sway people into believing it. Plus, it isn't trivial for someone to know if they have the newer chipset if the outside looks the same. A new redesign would go a long way to giving consumers confidence that the RROD is behind them. That is of course if the pro...
Lol... God of Tennis was pretty funny.
... you must have missed that one, I had a blast hitting the ball with my chain blades.
I think Kratos is about as close to a mascot as Sony has had. Nothing, not even Sonic can compare to the overexposure of Mario.
Although, if they are going to have a God of Tennis, I want to see a Mario of War. Nothing like a shirtless plumber swinging his blades at Bowser.
Eggerbrecht downplaying the Wii motion control?!?! A little bit ironic I suppose.
Who knew one little letter could cause so much controversy (foUr, for).
