Here is a decent translation of the link:
Quantic Dreams is a company that probably most known for Fahrenheit adventurespillet. In 2006, at E3, the fair showed Quantic Dreams, in cooperation with Sony a video called "The Casting". The video shows a girl, who is optagelsesprøve on a role in a play or something of the kind. The video has since been described as a tech-demo, which shows a game.
There is today, however, appeared new screens up from Qua...
There's good and bad to being owned by a big company. Like he said, you can afford to take risks, although I would wager that making a crappy same old same old game is a bigger risk then going out on a limb with an idea. I'm glad there are studios willing to take risks and hopefully more pay off like LBP, Spore, Viva, etc.
The flip side is the lack of being a hungry studio that lives or dies by the titles it puts out can lead to apathy and making your job just a 9-5er while t...
I keep hearing how E3 is bad, but what is it that is wrong with it? I saw upwards of 40 games on display via G4 and websites and heard all the big console companies talk about direction. As a gamer, I got what I wanted out of it (without actually being there).
Vince didn't really say much in this blurb about what was wrong other than it was.
Demo the games, talk about them, unveil a few surprises, talk about consoles, etc. Other then a lack of surprises, every...
The great thing about this game is they can build onto it with DLC. Say people are clamoring for some effects, they can put out a DLC that covers that. The game doesn't have to be fully complete when it goes gold. Now, are they going to nickel and dime for DLC? Hopefully not, but if it is a big enhancement and I'm digging the creation side of it, I'd pay for it.
It looks like action from some of the screen shots. I can see button presses mapping to different controller keys that do different things in the midst of battle. If it was turn based, would most likely be more menu driven.
MGS4 is deserving of all the sales it gets for Konami. Best game I've played probably ever.
At least he is succinct and to the point.
Well, I'm not working on this project, but others could be, just because I say it's not me doesn't mean it can't be others. Others could be working on something that I can't talk about or maybe I'm just not going to talk about what others could be working on if they are really working on anything else.
Valve and MS or Valve and EA make the most sense.
Why do they charge more per DVD? I don't understand that concept. A game is a game whether it is on one or ten CD's.
If they relax this penalty for id, then they have to relax it for every developer.
Proof is in the pudding. See how it turns out. Marky Mark is a talented actor... part seems to fit him.
I guess you could tell if this doesn't work, but how could you tell if it does? Statistics would be your only measure.
My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
...That would be a fun one.
I don't have any problems with Gamestop. I'm happy for the used games because I've been picking up alot of PS2 games on the cheap. The employees at my local shop are pretty harmless when it comes to pestering, but I do have a funny story from the other week.
I was there and saw Xenosaga on the shelf for like $0.29 and decided to pick it up (I had a quarter and nickel on hand :) ). I brought the box to the counter and the guy goes to the index drawer to get the disc. He's lo...
Oh, Hannah Montana comes out on the 12th... hot dog!
I've been buying old, used PS2 games at Gamestop for < $10.00 because I missed them during that gen and I want to play them. These are games that are no longer sold new, so Gamestop is a goldmine for me. If I had a PS2 then I most likely would have bought them new.
Aren't they always working on the next thing? Ask any of the console developers and they will tell you they always have the next console in the works, but they don't commit to anything until they start to get close to that release date. Why commit to a design 5 or 6 years before it is due? In any case, Phil probably had many reasons to leave. Maybe he was just ready to move on.
What's next, ID tagging weapons on the battlefield so they can't be used by anyone else? Oh wait... I really need to get out of the house.
Wonder what games they might pack in. I was close to getting an Elite last week, but wasn't too interested in the pack ins and decided to wait. Glad I did, now I can shave off $50.00 and maybe get something else included.
I never understood why a developer touts the fact they are at 60 fps or some ridiculously high number. This tells me they are actually under utilizing the game engine. You don't need 60, a game will look just fine at 30fps, so put more into the game (graphics, logic, AI, etc) which will bring down the fps and you should have a better game for it.
I'm not knocking Wardevil. It looks like a great game from what I've seen, they just happened to be ones talking up 60 fps.
Savings went kaput.
