I love SRPG's. They have to be done properly though because little nagging things can ruin them, but it's looking interesting with that gas gauge idea. Hope it doesn't get lost in the holiday shuffle, but I'll be picking it up for sure (there's one sale).
I'm actually in the middle of MGS2 right now as I'm going through the essential collection before tackling MGS4. I totally disagree with it being on this list. Its got great cinematics and interesting characters. Raiden is a bit of whiner, but overall the gameplay and story are entertaining.
Has anyone asked them if the PS3 version will release at the same time as the 360 version in US/Europe? I see all these questions asked, but I've never seen that one asked.
Valve has said in the past that they want to remain a smaller company and they simply don't have the resources to devote to the PS3. I don't believe they have any qualms about someone else porting their work, however I think it is in their best interest to make sure it is ported well and of high quality. People less hardcore than the N4G crowd don't really keep up with the news as closely and might just assume Valve did the PS3 versions and lose faith in their products.

I was watching a gameplay preview on G4 the other night and in the game they actually put a little dot in the middle that looks pretty much like dirt. It isn't a very clean dot. Anyway, I looked at it and sh&*, my kids have been touching the TV again. I got up, got a rag, got some cleaner and started wiping at it. Then I realized it wasn't dirt after all. I think you have reverse those. Wii Sports Resort will sell like crazy, it already has a pack in Wii Motion Plus adapter. That thing will print money. Wii Music will sell ok. I don't see it being huge, but no one will play it after the first day they get it home.
Yup. I think you have very different approaches to this gen between MS and Sony. Sony is looking inwards and developing titles whereas MS is more than happy to open up the wallet and buy them.
I actually don't mind timed exclusives because the console that waits gets bug fixes and more content 9 times out of 10. There are so many games in '08 that are coming out, I wouldn't even get to them all before the delay kicks in anyway.

Strange as it may sound, I'll feel better about reading the forums/comments than I did when I only had 1 or 2 consoles. No news becomes bad news that way... and by bad I mean you don't get the green eye of envy or you don't get so caught up in the fanboy wars.
I don't think MS will pay for it to be exclusive. I think part of the reason they chose to port it to the PS3 was to give PS3 owners the 1st one before making the 2nd (and 3rd which was slipped some time ago as something they would most likely be doing) multiplatform.
If MS wanted to keep the franchise exclusive they would have backed up their dump truck full of money to keep the 1st one that way.
This just null and voids all those absurd arguments from the last 6 months about PS3 installs.
Also because anyone wanting the title and buying the 360 to get it would have done that already. Unlike FFXIII that releases at the same time (or at least as far as we have been told), the consumer then has a choice of which system to buy.
Same principle with MGS4. If it did go to the 360 it wouldn't be as big a deal to Sony because they have already reaped the benefits of selling more consoles.

I think this is a risky move. Not a shooter, which dominates the US markets and a new IP to boot. The game looks fun, but so does Prototype and the 2 have alot of similarities.
I'd like to see a blockbuster ad campaign for LBP above all Sony titles. That has the potential to draw in a big crowd. Put Sackboys at McDonalds and you will have people clamoring for it. Those darn things are just so cute, they alone could win people's hearts.

Yesterday, they were interviewing Carmack and asking why they brought their game to EA Partners and he said they talked to among other companies Valve who had nothing but nice things to say about EA.
