Too Human had 2 things going for it to further propel the hype train: Platform exclusivity and a very talkative developer. Both of those combinations has led to a high profile. I know another game that has that same mix of ingredients (cough GeoW2 cough). Though I suspect the latter game to do much better with the critics and fans.
Starting at about Sept, it will be time to enter my gaming cave. I may resurface once or twice, but with all the quality games coming out in the last third of '08, there will be little time for unnecessaries like family, eating and bathroom breaks.
Santa might be generous and extend that well into '09.
Yeah, I don't see how they would discount it. They will sell many copies. Heck, Overlord came out on the PS3 at $59.99 when ported and that wasn't a landmark title.
They've got the engine and the basic game. I think despite the tepid reviews it will sell pretty decently, so I don't see why they won't have a sequel. Denis can either take to heart and fix the shortcomings of the game for part II or he can ride around on his high horse and complain how no one "got" his game and deliver more of the same.

As much as there is a fanboy/console war going on daily, there is just as big a contingency that complains about the fanboy/console war on a daily basis.
It's like in high school, the non conforming kids wind up conforming to the non conformists if that makes any sense.
I know there has been alot of talk about MS coming out with something new in the next 2 or 3 years, but I think even MS might wait a little longer. If the 720 comes out too soon it is going to find itself in limbo. Developers make PS3/360 games because the hardware is similar enough but not too often do they also add a Wii version (unless it is redesigned and not ported). This could have proved disasterous for Nintendo, but their machine caught fire and found a niche of its own.

I don't mind a person hyping a game, that's what he is supposed to do on the eve of its release, however this game is going to revolutionize a whole city? That might be asking a bit much.

Decathalon on the Atari 2600 was my most painful memory in gaming. If anyone has played that and can remember the 1500 meter run, you will know what I mean.
The gaming industry is surely benefiting from having an older user base than years past that have more stable jobs and no longer need to mow lawns to get a game at the end of summer. They also no longer need to ask mom and dad... I just have to ask my wife :(
