Anyone take a close look at that hand in the middle of the controller? Is this a subtle sign from MS to the US? I've captured it here:
I think MS and Nintendo should have had some showing on stage to show support for Europe. Not that Nintendo really needs it, but MS sure does.
Damn you gaming gods and the holiday build up.
I've got to start plotting now how to get all these Fall titles into the house and past the wife.
Well said. I had the same feeling about it. Why would he be defending it even if it was his favorite game? Just play it and enjoy it.
Having a bias is human nature, but it is in the best interest of someone in a position such as Kevins to try to be as objective as possible.
G4 producer - Kevin, Kevin, our score isn't saving this game. MS is breathing down my neck. You want that bonus this year? Get online and defend Too Human. You got it?
@7.1 Lol. Nice.
The way to make this work is to make it more than just a novelty idea.
Make the kids have to feed the creature to keep it healthy, and pet it play with it to make it happy. Make it more like a real pet then just something neat on the PS3.
It would also be nice to see it grow over time and learn tricks, perk up when its owner shows up.
It will probably suffer neglect and die of starvation over time, but hey, you don't have to really bury it.
The one thing I will say for XPlay in their new format is that they have cleaned up the sarcastic reviews they gave to nearly every game. Back when they reviewed like 4 or 5 games an episode, they made fun of them nonstop, even quality games that they gave good reviews to was met with derogatory statements and picking the worst audio/video clips to play. In the new format, even though they review alot less frequently, they have cleaned up and are more professional.
Still thou...
Even MGS doesn't shy away from the boobies. Why did Eva have to unzip her jumpsuit every time she rode in on her motorcycle in MGS3? How many wedgies can you count in the whole series? I'm not complaining though :)
Oh well, Bruce on Games was wrong I guess. We haven't seen the start of a 360 landslide in Japan.
Graphics looks great, QTE's not so great. I wish the gaming world would do away with them.
She's not too hard on the eyes for sure. In an XPlay Rewind episode, she said Kirby sucks and blows which kind of got me excited for a little bit until Sessler came in and said he looks like a pink testicle which killed it for me.
I would hope what Denis says is not indicative of how he acts. A good designer/developer can take to heart criticisms and incorporate those into change in a sequel. From hearing him talk, I get the impression he attributes everything negative to someone who just doesn't get his game. I'm hoping his attitude is more for promotion of the game (although all these interviews are not helping) than is his realistic view.
Presidents, CEO's are never fired they are usually forced to resign "for personal reasons" which is what most likely happened here. I'm sure Itagaki is having a nick chuckle about now.
I heard that there will be another R&C game late '09. I think it was discovered on a hint in Quest for Booty. I would like to see Insomniac go with a 3rd IP on the PS3.
Honestly, I never really buy the whole biased review thing.... I might be a glass half full kind of guy, but in this case I might have to polish my rose colored glasses. XPlay had a weeks long games of summer feature back in May I think and every day they trotted Denis Dyack on TV to go over yet another segment of Too Human. I could have mailed a letter to XPlay back then saying you will give Too Human a 5 (they actually said this is a very strong 4).
Every major Microsoft first-party game dated...
my sister
I really wish she would stick to Nintendo, he has much better family values.
Lol... I guess games fall into acronym hell. Here's a bubble for the chuckle.
Great, nearly two hours of looking at his lovely tanned muscles, chiseled chin and hearing his wonderful voice... I'll have to pop popcorn.
FF - That was a good read. It put it into a much better context then what was discussed or shown so far... bubbles for the link.
